Got done Playing as the allies in VOT. By turn 18 was on the back hill where the reinforcements arrive, The panther and infantry showed up with four shermans sitting there and some assorted squads. one squad of infantry let loose with a faust and toasted one sherman and the panther unloaded on three others. the next turn the computer surrendered. Never saw so many tanks die so fast. Teutonic

AUTO SURRENDER???????
Teutonic replied to SS_PanzerLeader's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
Ok after going through 7 pages of posts over two days i don't think I saw this mentioned. The ladder that is being currently developed is setup so that when you have a game that ends the results are sent to the ladder and then both parties are e-mailed and have to respond to have the game added. Now if you play someone that has created a scenario that is obviously overbalanced( correct me if I am wrong the formula takes into account a discrepancy like this)you can then not respond to the email sent out and post your reasons why. Ok, so far the books I have read have a common theme when it comes to US infantry. When the GI's encountered the enemy a lot of times the first thing was to call in artillery or air. Also I think that the way that the germans attacked by selecting a narrow area to attack could also be part of the reason so few seemed to have fired. Don't know if that made any sense but it is my $.02 worth. Teutonic

Short for Teutonic Knights: German military religious order founded(1190–91) during the siege of Acre in the Third Crusade. It was originally known as the Order of the Knights of the Hospital of St. Mary of the Teutons in Jerusalem. The order was one of nobles, and the knights took the monastic vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience. Ya gotta love those religous military kinda guys. Besides it made a great callsign flyin g on the canals of mars playing football in hovercraft. Teutonic -
Opinons on Scenario Balance

<BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by Los: Designing scenarios is such a fun process, personaly I just can't get enough of the map maker, and have a hard time driving home from work without specing out any piece of terrain I happen to be driving by. It's almost a sickness... Cheers... Los<HR></BLOCKQUOTE> I hear ya. I was on vacation in Wisconsin and as we were driving along in the country over rolling hills past forest and fields I kept saying that would make a great battlefield. I even went so far to stop going through a little valley and took pictures to use as a reference for a scenario I would like to design. My wife thought I was Nuts. Teutonic Ps I prefer unbalanced secenarios as far as forces and then use the terrain to try and equalize the disadvantage. [This message has been edited by Teutonic (edited 04-07-2000).] -

It was my understanding with the ad blocking software that it was telling the sending computer that you had recieved it so it would stop sending it. I Went back to the intermute sight but it doesn't say specificaly how it is blocking the add. Intermute works by becoming a proxy server and I am not sure exactly how that works. If it turns out that is causing a loss of revenue I have no problem turning it off for the Cmhq site(like I said easily customizable ). Teutonic -

Wish I would have seen this site last year. Looks like the intermute folks are actually using some of proxomitrons code in their program. Now I need to see what this Shonen Knife sounds like. Teutonic Not a Junior member anymore -

For those of you with a PC(mac users any one know of something like this?) you can get a program Called Adsubtract Intermute from http://www.intermute.com This program blocks ads, animations, auto refresh, Pop-up windows, background images , background music, cookies, referrers, java script, and java applets. Each of these is selectable and also can be customized for each website you visit. I can now load cmhq in about 5 seconds insteaqd of the 30-45 seconds it took on my one channel isdn line (64k). Well worth the registration price. Teutonic Ps. Yea I am a member again. I would suggest also Omega. You design your tank and then you also design the AI for your tank. It is a little tricky to get the AI programmed but It is fun. I haven't seen anything like this game since it came out. Teutonic

Ok has anyone tried running on a card that uses tv out. Run through a vcr and record as you play, then run the tape through a capture device. Don't know if it would work but thought I would throw it out there. Teutonic

What, You mean everyone isn't running at 1600 x 1200? Teutonic

Hmmmm, how to respond.... 1. Vonshrad get the van. 2. Troll 3. Do you understand the reason why the pc game industry is in the dilema it is in? If you are such and experienced marketer you might understand that it is the very reason you state that is causing the problem. How many companies have shoved products out the door that were "finished" just to get that 50 sales. Well how many sales did they lose because of that? LOTS OF SALES. I know I am very cautious about whose games I buy because some bean counter told the company it needed to get out the door. Interesting how the number of brown shirts went from 15 to 25 by the end of your post. By the way I am wearing A green shirt today. Adding "floating" names to units (GD Review)
Teutonic replied to A Arabian's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
One other thing to try would be the + and - keys to go to the next or previous unit. Granted it might take awhile in a large battle but it will get you there. Teutonic -
Not only does the new smoke look good did you notice the textures on the panther next to that brewed up mark IV. Teutonic JR.
