  7. bauhaus, you have really pissed me off. The nerve that you'd post something with which I'd be forced to agree. FORCED, because it would be through no concious decision on my part that I could ever be cajoled, whipped, subverted, perverted, or swindled into concurring with anything you could possibly utter. Your strivings for communication and control over your world amount only to the raucous flocking of starlings, and are equally difficult to interpret, let alone accede to the thought that anything about them (or your mewlings) could ever be construed as being 'correct.' However, even in the face of all that, sometimes the truth wins out and shines through the dimmest fogs of fumbled imaginings. Apparently such is the case here, for I have been FORCED to agree with you. You bastige. </font>
  8. Seanachai's postings are always precious to me......its not so much that his words amuse, provoke and delight me. Its that he has to think about all that he puts down on this board before hand. "I have lived a long time, as these things go. I am, at one and the same time, more amazingly weird than all but a few of you could truly appreciate, and yet stunningly normal." Contemplate this paragraph for awhile...its not just a collection of words, but the thoughts of old Grandma Steve, what he thinks of himself, to be precise. Quite wonderful I think, that this man shares his thoughts with us.
  9. What are you? Some kind of Goodale Castoff Fag??? Come here and join us by the fire, and talk as men do.
  10. Looks nice...I often wonder what became of mine. I sold it in 1972 to a friend from work. I never did any real modifications to it over the time I owned it. I put Thrush mufflers on it, which sounded great but got me nothing but heartaches from my new wife's neighbors and the cops. I also put air adjustable shocks in the rear, which improved the ride a lot, but also got me nothing but heartarches from the cops. For some reason they disliked raised rear ends, I could never figure out why. Those were great times to have a lead foot and a few bucks in your pocket.
  11. I don't blame you! I would swap you a jet pack for that (if I had one) how about a phone? I am trying to save for 1969 Road Chicken myself, that is the one I want. I think I have it figured in at about 20 months out. I can't afford a convertible of course but (as I am sure you know) late '60's to early '70's were great years for MOPAR. I blew the rear differential out from under my ‘69 Roadrunner back in the day in Grand Junction Colo. A good ‘ol boy stopped on I-70 to lend a hand and he happened to have 2 of them for parts cars at his parents farm. He called them “Road Chickens” and I have never forgotten that guy. We pulled a rear differential and installed in my car with a bumper jack! </font>
  12. Back when I was a kid....they promised us jet packs by 1980, personal jet packs!!! Where the hell are they??? Who wants a telephone that can't make phone calls but will take your picture, down load the Bible, and show you last weeks NFL highlights. I want my friggen Jet Pack , or maybe one of those whirlybird thingemabobs....like Boo has. I wish I had my old 1969 Road Runner Convertable back. BEEP BEEP
  13. Oh damn!!! Speedy is still alive...with his last turn he included a note saying something about...."outback....walking and death" Wishes don't always come true.
  14. Ah Berli, another year older eh? Just a year closer to the grave...best wishes anyway, how many more could you possibly have left?
  15. Semper Fi, What disturbed me Imperial Grunt, was not so much the incompatibility of the comm equipment, but something that the contributers alluded to about how the Marines let the Army heavy mech equipment sit idle while they assaulted fortified urban positions using nothing but young Marines and guts. While I can understand how that could happen, it seems to me that a lot of that gung ho attitude should have been replaced by more common sense in the years since I was in the Corps. I am sure that the Marines and the Army units worked together quite well, and that was stated in the narrative. To have supporting arms that can negate the advantage of a strong fortified defensive position and not use them borders on incompetence. I really did not get the vibe of bias from that report, and even though it was written by an Army writer, I thought it was quite even handed. I would hope that by 2006 the Corps would set aside some of its rougher thought processes and at least understand why they might need armored ambulances for Gods sake. I'll bet that was something they never even considered when planning the Fallujah operation, it must have been something the Army Mech units would ahve taken for granted. I can see why they were apalled seeing wounded Marines being evac'd in HumVees. Our country needs its fighting forces to be able to cooperate and compliment each other. If anything good comes out of this current situation maybe that will be the result.
  16. Stupid Euro-peon. There is no surf in Ghent. Noba. </font>
  17. Watch this video and then go read the Operation Al Fajr material in the other thread, and know that human nature and prejudice, as well as inter service rivalry will negate the advantages of firepower and technology even on the modern battlefield. Until we can completely replace humans in combat, none of this fancy stuff will achieve its full potential, and then it wont matter because people will no longer be killing people.
  18. Apparently, he made a top secret trip to the western provinces of that country just north of us...what's it called now???.....er ahm....you know, the place where Dorosh lives, damn the name escapes me.
  19. The vehicle in the picture is also modified, the glass on side windows of most normal cars shatters into a million shards at the slightest impact. The windows in this BBC picture appear to be shatterproof glass. Obviously this guy was living with threats, or maybe all Lebanese governemnt officials travel in modified vehicles.
  20. Being in the communications business...I found it quite disturbing that in 2004 Army and Marine communications protocols, i.e. internet, telephones were not compatible. A very enlightening and encouraging read.
