  1. I agree. Mullberries would be very helpful when invading countries that have no ports. Ireland for one.
  2. The first few games I played with it off. Now I play with it on.
  3. I have to disagree. Overall, I have had some very good results with Axis Subs. When used in numbers of 3 or 4 thay can be an effective offensive weapon.
  4. I invaded as the Axis. I thought it was strange that Turkey then sent units to fight in Russia while Russia sent troops to Turkey.
  5. The only time I used them as the Axis, was when I had long range tech. I placed them in Nothern Spain and Port. to bomb Eastern U.S. Other then that I generally do not bother with them.
  6. Ah yes, 1978, Leisure suits, inflation and "The Third World War" by SPI. Did not quite get the hang of it at first but quickly moved on to others including my favorite 3R. I got the board game in 1979 and the couputer version in 1996 (what a bust).
  7. I have to date kept away from the on going debates about fun vs accuracy. I find this product in its current form to be very entertaining. Where is the line drawn on historical accuracy? To be 100% historicaly accurate would mean that the game is lost from the onset as the Axis player, What fun is that? Jets in 1942? Interesting but not so much fun as a long term campaign. I enjoy the strategic aspect of the game, not the rush to victory. Remember the goal in chess is to capture the King, not slaughter your opponents pieces. Oh well, just a thought.
  8. The board seems to be getting a little thin.
  9. After examining the cover, I must agree.
  10. If it were not for that war in 39, I would not have SC in 02.
  11. I have to agree. At one time I finished my turn only to find that I forgot to so anything with the Russians.
  12. Prehaps there should be a unit bearing the image of the head of state for each particular country. That unit would have no value. It would just be moved around its territory as the player wishes, prehaps offering support. No country would surrender until the head of state unit is captured/eliminated.
  13. As I was laying siege to Moscow my children were behind me watching Nickelodeon. When I was about to enter the city i thought to myself, "why not change the name", so I entered the Soviet capital with my elite crack shock troops know as the "Sponge Bob Corps".
  14. I was a little surprised myself. You could not believe the shock when I witnessed my poor little Rom. Buddies get blastde by the Soviet Navy. As I was in no position to expand the war into Turkey, I just had to sit there and take it. I think in some edition down the road the player should be able to use their foreign policy ie. money, to influence other countries in order to get them to join in the war.
  15. Please do not forge me. attorney@att.net
  16. I am glad to see that it is not just me. My wife reminded me that the yard needs mowing. That was Monday. I did go so far as to delete the game from my work computer. I was spending too much time playing and not enough on my clients.
  17. I am in PA. Mine was waiting for me when I got home from my vacation this past Saturday. (8/3).
  18. In the 1939 game I invested in indust. tech. and in two consuctive turns went ftom level 1 to 3.
  19. Anyone know or care to mention how many units have been sold to date?
  20. I found that out the hard way. When it comes time to go shopping is it HQ's or tanks. Hmmmmmm?
  21. The only difference I noticed was that when the Low countries fell the French and Brits. did not immediatly withdraw to Paris. They stayed one full turn at the front, then withdrew. Paris fell at the beginning of August 1940. The difference I did notice was that for the life of me I could not take Yugo. I had 4 air fleets, 3 armor, and 2 Inf. and it would not fall.
  22. I am looking forward to this. I got the the 3R computer game about 5 years ago and it was unfortunately somewhat "buggy".
  23. Now I just have to wait...again.
  24. Anyone notice that the Dow is down almost 300 points and this game has not been released yet. Are you people tring to ruin the economy?
