  1. Interesting. What is the purpose of an AD ship close to enemy shore with shut down air defense sensors? Bizarre
  2. Yes the timing is not particularly good. Although Turkey is gaining many points in all fronts, at least this is the picture now. The last time we followed allies against the russians, it backfired with the minor Asia disaster in 1922, where they helped Ataturk and an ancient thriving communty since 2000 bc was lost in flames...(our foolish leaders helped too of course). But since Steve, you haven't relaased any CM game in the aegean (although it would be interesting with terrain and mixing russian/NATO equipment ) i it is a good first sign this ain't gonna happen
  3. These are all good points and I hope they are thinking it twice indeed . I'm worried because when Turkey invaded Cyprus in 1974 it was already a NATO member. Things are different now but Turkey has always been a two faced state, dreaming of past ottoman glory. And if things go out of hand this might be their chance. (even if they fail miserably in the end )
  4. On other news, Russia seems to want to exploit all the influence it has on Turkey. Today it was announced it is opening a consulate in occupied Northern Cyprus. Bad news for us. It will also mean they will attack the east med pipeline deal. It's a bit worrying that they might give everything Turkey wants to open a second front in the Mediterranean if things escalate. We have US bases in Alexandroupoli and Souda Bay, but Turkey closed all NATO bases on its territory. We are fully complied with sanctions against Russia and weapons for Ukraine. Turkey on the other hand no... I hope I won't end up in some aegean island with bayraktars hovering above and under artillery fire from the Turkish coastline damn. https://www.google.com/amp/s/uwidata.com/23997-russias-attention-is-now-on-the-turkish-republic-of-northern-cyprus-trnc/amp/
  5. Haha I have been doing the same thing with this amazing flight Sim. Particularly along the first Kiev offensive axis . I hope more detailed world updates or mods will come for Ukraine ... I wish there is a possibility someone to reconstruct Mariupol in 3d photogrammerty quality to pre war condition. At least as a virtual monument of this war...
  6. Good points. The rest of the World might well wonder where was all this motivation when wars have been waging for decades around the globe. Unfortunately Kraze realizes the hard way that big powers intervene only when they have something to win. For those that reside in minor nations, we have learnt this bitter truth centuries now. Still in the case of Ukraine, EU countries are willing to pay a high price to assist (and in a case of WW3 a possible annihilation which is not something to take lightly).
  7. I don't understand the tone sorry. The refugee crisis is a humanitarian disaster since the West decided to violently intervene in Middle east and Afghanistan but without really investing in a long term plan for the day after.
  8. I guess we'll have to wait. Maybe a NATO system was involved as Capt said and they didn't want to release any info.
  9. Not so sure about that. They will probably end up in tent camps somewhere in the aegean islands or the balkans, or worse, lost in the sea.
  10. Yes I agree, I was partially joking because we are so spoiled with the non stop feed of battle footage.
  11. About the Moskva, I have started to have doubts the Ukrainians hit it with the only Neptune battery they have. They film almost every launch of nlaw or Stugna, why they didnt film this historic moment, (at least the launch , as the taget was miles away). I'm sorry you have trained us like pavlov's dogs with the social media bombardment Maybe the boat had maintenance issues like you all imply about soviet machinery and a fire indeed detonated the heavy missile load.
  12. Famine in Africa will mean another huge refugee wave that Europe will have to handle. Could be a tsunami this time...
  13. Yes most probably (at this phase). To be honest I haven't seen reports of more kalibrs landing in Ukraine lately, this could be a sign of shortage or they are just waiting for whatever big offensive they have in mind.
  14. Yes they are specific of course, but from all the nations that could help, China with their huge manufacturing capabilities and more importantly the shared military technology of decades on Soviet weaponry are the ideal partner Russia could ask for if things go down the long way. They can easily copy anything. What's inside Xi mind is hard to decode precisely. If Russia asks, it will be hard for them to say no anyway. I see more of a manpower problem for Russia than hardware to be honest if they continue to treat this war less than the total war it actually is.
  15. Yes I don't really understand that about the chips shortage. China can provide these (and other stuff) without anyone noticing. 6 huge transport Y 20 landed in Belgrade the other day with weapons, nothing really happened except warnings to Serbs.
  16. My fear is not that Putin will push the button. But in case of miltary failure and internal collapse, more extreme radicals could take over (yes there are more radicals than Putin). Imagine the orcs manning the crucial posts like the Nazis did. Then what we would do?
  17. Haha good one. Probably with the all Russian ban, not sure what will happen with the rockets. https://www.theverge.com/2022/3/3/22959691/russia-roscosmos-rocket-engines-ula-northrop-grumman-rd-180-181
  18. I think their missile tech is the cream of the crop. Even NASA relies on them. So, less likely to malfunction than their subpar land or navy forces I guess. Stop taking out their ships and conventional army before it's too late
  19. Oh boy, they will lose their flagship to a nation without navy and people were afraid that Russia could threaten NATO. Looks like Russia is a rocket army, with small rockets to big nuclear ones and nothing in between. Give them a chance for peace will you?
  20. There is a World War going on at the moment, some of us find this more interesting to discuss than the actual game. It's history in front of our eyes and we try to decode it with our, truth is, limited knowledge. For the developers I'm sure they are studying and absorbing all the insane amount of info that will make the game engine even more realistic in the future. I also personally don't feel like playing the game right now, when we have seen so much grim real world footage...
  21. Haha, no Untergang is not bad actually. It's where all the Hitlers memes originated! Bruno Ganz is amazing.
  22. It's not totally debunked. There are credible people that voiced their concerns before we reached this point, it's not only my fantasy. For instance there are even voices inside America: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.newyorker.com/news/q-and-a/why-john-mearsheimer-blames-the-us-for-the-crisis-in-ukraine/amp On EU expansion, it was a peaceful process that didn't really ignite tensions but simultaneously it was strengthening ties of Europe with Russia, with the Nord Stream pipelines being the wedding ring. Now, who actually benefited by breaking this marriage is the question. On the WW2 issue, we had agreed some posts before that the reasons of war weren't that simple and that cornering and humiliation of Germany by its rival colonial enemies was a key ingredient of nurturing fascism there. After that it went out of hand.
  23. It's ironic though because look at Germany now, they look like the most corrupted of all EU, bribed by russian energy and with an ex chancellor on head of gazprom, while they were pointing fingers to southern Europe. It's no surprise most southern EU counties have no enthusiasm actually battling Russia.
