I would say that this is a pretty good assessment and once we test a bit more on our end, testers just got their hands on this last week, we'll definitely have more comments.

Hi SeaMonkey Unfortunately it is still a bit early to commit to any of these answers just yet as we are still in the process of development/testing so nothing is really finalized at the moment Once we have a better picture I can provide more details on how each campaign will look and play out. Yes it should -
Thanks gentlemen and I think you'll like all the changes and improvements... the AI alone is up to 5X faster as well as much improved with many reworked logic routines added too. Honestly, it plays super fast now by comparison to the previous releases

From the updated guide on our end are the following notes: DE 600 - Germany: Should Germany Honor The Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact? • Event fires: When Poland surrenders. • Cost of accepting: Nothing. • Yes: Germany and the USSR share Polish territory between them. • No: Germany annexes all Polish territory, and the USSR will swing slightly towards the Allies. Germany will also no longer be presented with DE 610 and DE 611. • Note that whether or not Germany honors the Pact will affect the deployment locations of Soviet forces when the USSR enters the war. The mobilization increase for the USSR if Germany says no is from 15-20%.

To clarify, under the latest WWI engine F4 is now replaced by the F3 key which is the 'DEBUGAI' function. Unfortunately it does not allow you to switch sides with the AI but as you've discovered it allows you to set an AI-vs-AI game but once disabled it will return you to control the side you originally selected. Hope this helps, Hubert

So far so good, I've heard back from rjh1971 and it looks like the changes I've made have resolved the issue on his Win 7 system... just waiting to hear back from a few others that will be hopefully running tests soon and if they all pass I will gladly cross this issue off of my list -

I think I finally figured out what this might be, can anyone with the a sluggish DEMO, or even the game for that matter please send me an email as I suspect I have a fix for this but it will require me to send you something to test this out. support@furysoftware.com Thanks, Hubert -

Quick question for anyone experiencing this issue from the DEMO, can you let me know if this issue also occurs for the smaller 1918 Kaiserschlacht campaign? Thanks, Hubert -

Hi Christian Wagner, Sorry to hear the trouble and for the video acceleration option, this is on by default now but it appears that for some systems this is still an issue as the game plays with a lower scrolling speed. I'm unfortunately unable to reproduce it on my end so it is almost impossible to understand why it is occuring for only a subset of systems. Can you try upgrading your video card driver to see if that helps? Can you also try right clicking the game icon and selecting 'Properties'. From there select the 'Compatibility' tab and you should see the option to run the game in an XP compatible mode. If you try this, can you tell me if it runs any smoother after that? Hubert -
Hi jjdenver, The only thing I can think of is that perhaps this file was flagged by your anti-virus and not allowed to install? This may have happened during a previous installation and it is now an issue for your reinstall or it happened during your current installation. If you can check with your anti-virus program and look for any quarantined files etc., this might help to narrow it down. I only suggest this as my anti-virus, AVG, has incorrectly flagged this file in the past on my end as well. Hubert

For those that have the full game, can you tell me if the lagginess is also apparent when scrolling/clicking on units in the Editor? This might help me narrow it down if it is not happening in the Editor etc. -
From memory it advances as the Germans near Paris and once Belgium surrenders as well as when the Allies abandon key positions in the Mediterranean. After that there is a slight increase (I believe) starting in late 1940 that will eventually bring them into the war regardless of the situation on the ground. Axis successes such as the surrender of nations will pique Italian interests as well as aggressive moves by the Allies such as declarations of war will do it too. Hope this helps, Hubert

Can't launch game, failed make
Hubert Cater replied to jpank's topic in Strategic Command Tech Support Forum
Hi Jpank, Can you tell me if you have applied the latest patches for these games? If not, I would suggest doing so as they are likely to resolve the issues for you but if not the other thing I would suggest doing is to launch the game as an Administrator. The way to do this is to 'right click' on the game shortcut and select 'Run As Administrator' and that should solve the issue for you. Hope this helps, Hubert -
Hi Glabro, I honestly can't say as another patch is not really at the top of our list right now, i.e. game is stable and that is always our top priority, so I would say to feel free to go ahead and make changes to the game as soon as you are ready. I look forward to seeing what you guys come up with too Hubert

For those that are finding the lagginess in map scrolling are you playing at normal zoom or at a zoomed out level? -

That #VIDEO_ACCELERATION option you found in the SC2.ini file was an option we introduced in earlier releases of the game but it is no longer selectable in game since as far as we could tell it always ran faster with it enabled. The feature is still a part of the engine though so when you changed it in the INI file it still works if you go that way but as you found out it slows to a crawl without it enabled.
