Will definitely take a look. Thanks...

Natch GAJ. Your site is very useful.

I noticed that an old Aris upload is currently listed as the most recent mod on the CMFI/CMBN area. Any way to fix the upload date thing?
-
I have a DoD mod v1 dated April 12. Does this new one simply replace the old one?

The possible flaw in this concept is that there has been a decline in the number of scenarios and campaigns (especially) produced by volunteers as every new module/pack gets released.

Am curious what the graphic actually represents. I understand that it's a glitch due to improper patch installation, but the graphic of an arm sticking out at 90 degrees must have been created for some reason. But, I do not recall ever seeing that in any game I have played. So, what is the original reason for this graphic existing?

Agreed Agusto. I should have explained that your reasons are why I am confident we will never have a conventional conflict between "equals" (in the foreseeable future).
The future wars will be cyberwar and economic and arguably have been going on already for many years. We just don't get told about a fraction of the cyberwar attacks on our systems - power outages, airline systems going down, bank errors, corporate espionage etc etc...

CM1 had a simple brightness control. That alone would be helpful.

The thing with modern warfare (unless it's red vs red) is that the main victory goal is to have minimal blue casualties, while it's expected that red will suffer and endure massive casualties.
Some may enjoy the challenge of red in these unequal contests, but most folks don't - which is why most don't enjoy playing the Soviets in WW2 games. Having said that, I have been having a blast playing the red vs red campaigns like ROAD TO DINAS (I think by PAPER TIGER?). Superb, but very long campaign. A great way to learn the pros and cons of red forces.

Am pretty sure I have these xnt mods, but it's great to see em again. You did/still do wonderful work MikeyD!
I find myself enjoying CMSF (and CMA) more and more while we wait for the WW2 series to "mature".

If the maps were a LOT larger, or there was an operational level to the game I would agree. But, having units appear on a map as reinforcements is basically the same as parachuting or choppering in.
I liked the way AA worked in CM1 - abstracted in.

Do both sides use the same Soviet type vehicles, or are there western ones there as well?
-
The other issue that would need to be solved first is that the gun-layer could have LOS, but not the gunner or gun. imo this is still one of the most frustrating aspects of CM2.

We need a "medical skills" patch that enables us to personally deliver medical aid better than that of the pixelmedics.

Quite brilliant. Thanks. Hopefully that means we can do Pakistan vs India or Afghan uncons?

In the game, it is definitely worth loading up on ammo and anything else you MIGHT need. It takes a lot longer and is usually a PITA to have to go back and restock.
But, I always wonder how realistic that is. In RL, would one load up the XO with the heavy ATM? Would one take an extra one or two thousand rounds plus rockets, grenades etc?
I enjoy at least making an effort at playing realistically. So, you guys who have been in action... what do you do in RL??
-
I suspect it's merely word confusion. Dead/dark base soldiers are eligible for "buddy aid" ONLY in that their ammo and weapons MIGHT be collected.
Light base/severely WIA are eligible for BA in that it can prevent them from getting KIA and their ammo and weapons may also be collected.
However, unfortunately AFAIK there are no VP's for saving WIA soldiers from death - I think there should be.

Are there historical WW2 reports that describe how many shots end up blowing up trees? It happens so frustratingly often in CM2 AND the firer doesn't make any changes.
So, in WEGO one can lose several rounds that way for no reason. Is that like RL, or maybe something that could be looked at for future change?

Glad you are feeling better, John. I know how awful it is to have injury and have to suffer thru recovery/rehab.

Beautiful work. However, seems like one of those rare occasions where the shader makes it look a bit too contrasty/bright. The LHS "dull colors" pic looks better to me.

Interesting Documentary. Thanks Fuzee.

BTW: The Sdkfz 231 at CMMODS is old. For some reason CMMODS often makes old uploads appear at the top as if they were new ones.
-
Just noticed a Sdkfz 231 by Aris appear at CMMODS.

Good idea to post at Repository and CMMODS as well.
