+1 to being able to click on ANY waypoint/line in order to select the unit (instead of having to go back and find the unit itself first). That would save a LOT of game time - esp in large scenarios.
-
Understood. I was only thinking that in RL combat they wouldn't want anything bright on them. I try to keep my pixeltruppen drab.

Thanks. I have the Aris mods, but didn't see the "Flesh subdued terrain" in my Z so glad to have that now.

What does "You are under positive control" mean?
-
Obviously someone important had a good reason to think that this frist version was a good idea. Be interesting to know why.
-
Looks like they expected it to be fired from the hip in a standng position. (It's not adjustable by any chance is it?)
-
"There is a chance that troops under direct fire from a spotted enemy outside a covered arc will disregard the order to return fire."
You mean "will disregard the order to HOLD fire"??
Re covered arcs, it would seem logical that if fired on INEFFECTIVELY from outside the arc, then the unit should disregard that fire. However, if the enemy fire is effective ie causing casualties or pinning, then there is little point in holding fire. In this instance the ambush is blown and the unit needs to return fire for survival purposes. (Ideally the endangered unit would bug out, but if you're playing WEGO of course the AI's options are limited for that minute.)
And re an AMBUSH command, currently it seems virtually impossible to create a good ambush if HIDE makes the unit essentially blind and deaf to an enemy unit - esp a vehicle just on the other side of a wall.

So, not a lot of point using the brighter band mod since we can't stick anything in the rather bright band? The version with the darker band looks usable.
-
Do you have d/l links for those two Flash/Rambler mods?
-
I like movie mode, but would make my own adjustments re color etc using my nVidia controls.
-
Sounds like another good argument for an "Ambush" command that would do what GAJ wants.
-
Don't sell yourself short. The way you use diagrams, text etc makes your AAR far clearer imo as one can comprehend it more easily visually rather than via words. I can far more easily/quickly understand what is going on in your game than in any of the other AAR's I have seen to date.

I certainly couldn't tell they were composites. And the text and lines etc make it so much clearer than anyone else's AAR's. So, good job, B.

"Tataouine"... The StarWars planet?

Love the building mods. Thanks.
-
This is probably one of the best illustrated AAR's ever. Thanks for making such an effort.
It would be great if you could explain how you did all the onmap text etc.
-
The other question that we need to know re these AAR's is who is playing this RT and who WEGO?
-
Totally agree. And a large part goes to Morricone's music.
-
Re resupply, is there a coding or other problem re why resupply sources cannot resupply grenades as well as regular ammo?
I also hope that some day BF can streamline the acquire process by simply having units adjacent rather than having to mount/dismount.
-
I too prefer WEGO in all situations. However, I can understand the attraction some have for RT in very small scenarios... eg: the one platoon CMFI Kiwi scenario that is so hard.

Iterations in order of desire:
1) The one that has flamethrowers
1a) The one with a more sensible LOS system so that we see what gunners can see (and shoot at) rather than the 3rd ammo bearer
2) The one that allows inf to ride on tanks
3) The one where AAA can shoot at and affect aircraft
4) The one with ammo dumps (where we can also get the rare ammo for Stg44's)
4a) The one where units can acquire ammo from adjacent units (instead of having to mount /dismount etc.)
5) The one that has campaigns in which units can change experience levels in subsequent battles. I would love to be able to do field promotions and award medals as well during campaigns.
6) The one with a convoy-type command for roads
In terms of eras, Fronts or topics, they all seem pretty good and getting better.
-
All sounds good. And the approx ETA...?
(No chance of flavor objects like gliders etc? Also was thinking that if you ever get ammo dumps, it would be nice to have the para supply containers depicted.)
-
Yes, this is a "must have". Thank you, Marco!

"To enable shooting down while hanging from a parachute."
The grip angle is completely the wrong way round for that. You would want the grip almost vertical to shoot down. It actually looks like it's designed so you could shoot UP!
