Looks great! And glad to see you are still about!
-
Wow! Looks incredible!

It's not a joke. It was intentional. Those "Modder's Series" files were intended for other modders to work off of, so he made them as .psp files intentionally so when a modder d/led them, they would not have to be converted. Don't be too angry!

Puh! Was Bjorn ever in a collective of thought-sharing, mind-sharing beings?! I say No! If some tennis player was in that jeep flying over a ridge, how would he "communicate" his recon info to all the other tennis players in his company? Clearly Borg Spotting refers to Star Trek Borg!

Mods are always good news!

Hubert, thank you for the reply! And Les, don't call my system a paperweight!! It is very sensitive!
Hopefully it will be able to handle SC2.

Hey! The title says it all... any idea when we might see a demo and can you give us any further details on the specs necessary to play what looks to be a fine game?
Thanks!

I'm just curious, but what do you think would have been a better way? In no way is any insult intended, I'm just very interested to hear if you've thought of any alternate way to model "command difficulties"?Originally posted by Redwolf:...where the delays have been chosen as a mechanism to model command difficulties (not a particulary good choice IMHO).
-
No, you are not the only one.Originally posted by Redwolf:Am I the only one who hopes for a deep breath and a real review of:
- vehicle turn rates
- command delays, especially along a road, for a continuous curve or at scenario start
- foxhole protection
- exhaustion rates (yes, I will take you up on the challenge to run through snow with 30 pounds and combat boot this winter, we meet in Lincoln, MA)
- bogging chances
- artillery model, in particular at least holding fire and then unleashing it
- turret front size model
- documented "curved armor" angles
- non-radio spotters (non-)escape
- gun setup times lower than anything I read in historic accounts
- death of pillboxes by 20mm
- troops moving in trenches are not supressed and inhibited from movement by MG fire some dictance away the same way that troops outside the trench are

I have a suggestion. Pardon me if you are already planning to implement it at some time. I didn't review the whole thread. But just looking at the German Infantry section, it may be a good idea to further subdivide the units into their "Division Type". So we would click on German Infantry then SS Mechanized then the specific unit, as an example. Good idea or no?
-
Still a great idea, that becomes greater as the number of people who use it increases. I look forward to keeping up with how this progresses!

Not again?! Sheesh!

That's all well and good, but what about a "fortifications bug" patch for CMBB?! Some of us would really like that as well!
-
If "An Army at Dawn" is really that good, what would be a great book that covers the earlier parts of the war in North Africa to complement it?
Has anyone read "Fighter" by Deighton? I have it but haven't yet read it.
Thanks!

Maps are indeed very welcome, especially ones suitable for smaller attack/defend scenarios in Italy.
Say about 1500 points!
-
I agree in a way. I mostly (90 %) play games of 1500 points or less which means you can sometimes purchase battalions. I find it disappointing that I have only a few choices to choose from because of all the extraneous equipment or vehicles that may come as part of that battalion of German motorized infantry I want to purchase. It has also limited my opponents on occasion. I am not trying to argue what is more historically accurate, but I would personally love to have the option of "stripped down" versions of battalions and maybe even companies..
-
Don't worry. For my part, I think your earlier mods are great as well!
-
Looks incredible! What software are you using? You should make a tutorial. Again, great mod.

Greetings,
I am in need of advice to improve my defensive skills in the above point range in CMBB and CMAK. Assume I am German, moderate to heavy tree coverage, usually good weather... any really good articles already out there? Or would someone be willing to reply to this post?

A link in his sig, almost 15,000 posts.. hmm, what more can he do?

I don't know if it's common, but I have the very same problem. I can't even manage to complete a setup for a one player game. Playing against the AI just seems completely pointless to me. After experiencing the interaction with a human opponent and the head-to-head competition, there's no going back. At least not for me. </font>Originally posted by Europa:</font><blockquote>quote:</font><hr />Originally posted by Dave H:

I try to play the AI but I can't. I just love the game vs. humans in PBEM, TCP/IP or hotseat, but everytime I have had a great game against a human opponent and start up an AI game I loose interest after about 1 turn. Is this common? What is my problem?

MikeyD, that looks great! Sweet!

Off almost all the time. My system is too weak to handle having them on. I don't take many screenshots, for which I would turn them on, and sometimes to watch a nice movie... but things slow down significantly.

I just read through the beginning part of the information on that scenario. Sounds like something I shall have to try!

I'd say it is very unlikely, but it is also very wished for by many, including myself.
