  1. Colonel.. I'm sorry, but the powers that be has decided differently - We now HAVE to take that rotten hill and the latest intel is'nt any better... The flyboys report several bunkers/minefields and even some armor - You are in for one hell of a time.... The bad news is I can't get any more engineers - you'll have to be very carefull with the 2 companies you've got - without the engineers your attack will get bogged down in no time! Still no news on who you are up against, but the best guess is 2 companies of security troops...? Now - the good news. Admiral Biggs have been gracious enough to send the Dreadnaught and a light cruiser to stand offshore. Biggs says to be carefull though - it's a hell of a long range and the shells might fall all over the place - those 14" blasts are spectacular so keep your men well back until the barrage is over. So - scout ahead with the para's - find the bunkers - point the navy at them and then go in with the engineers and the armor.... Good luck - this is a tough one - be very carefull!! This scenario is for Human vs AI only. Human takes Allied. The idea behind this scenario is 3 fold: 1) It will give you an opportunity to use & experience the 14" & 7" masterblasters... 2) You'll get to use the AVRE's - very usefull against bunkers, but their range is very short 3) You'll have to deal with extensive minefields and bunkers - look after your engineers!! This one can be won, but you need to know what you're doing... G'luck <wicked grin> see "Rotten Hill" at Scenario Depot [ 01-07-2002: Message edited by: Biltong ]</p>
  2. Thanx Ryan, I believe you - reason being there used to be only one flag - where the small one is now... I changed the map and added the extra flag further back to enable the Archers to have more terrain to fall back to - i.e. use their scoot tactics to the full... Only problem is I forgot to increase the number of rounds to accomodate the extra flag/terrain that needs to be conquered... U-hum: Old age; new year booze; 4 kids; phones ringing all the time; summer heat; pretty topless girls on the beach; take your pick - mind not working too well at the moment
  3. Thanx guys - Admiral, your AAR was a pleasant surprise - esp since you chose to take it from the Axis side... That makes me think that the scenario might be more than likely also be suitable for 2 player or PBEM. Panther G - you're right - the stacking is a bit obvious.. I love giving a spread of experience to different units - forces you to think and plan and more than likely it's quite realistic looking at the turnover in the average unit... However Elite/Crack/Vet/Reg is a bit obvious The fact that both of you had a hard time playing from opposite sides sounds good.... Or is the alloted time a bit short? 7. Well - if you want to try out all the above tactics - give me a buzz and I'll send you a Archer scenario.. You'll get 4 archers and an inf screen against some worthy opponents Made for PBEM or UK vs AI - Had one go at it so far (UK vs AI) and saw my arse with some hurried play betrim@xsinet.co.za [ 01-01-2002: Message edited by: Biltong ]</p>
  8. Just sent this off to Scenario Depot, but it need some testing: Name: Wrong End Version 1.02 35 turns; March 45; Dawn; Damp; Overcast; ME - starting with Brit glider troops holding one end of an airfield and SS Mot inf the other. These are later joined by US and Heer combined forces. The AI gets itself into a knot because the initial forces are all 'behind enemy lines' so to speak - so this scenario's only suitable for PBEM or 2 player. Gen Description: In the hectic days of March Monty tried another airborne attack. This one was much smaller. The Red Fox Glider Battalion under Colonel Red Grinswick landed on a German airbase 20 miles behind German lines with instructions to hold it until the 3rd Corps arived. The airfield was of no concern to Monty... the foxes were being sacrifised to divert the Germans from the crossing of the Saar further east. General Rouvleis did'nt think the airfield was worth fighting for either, but he did'nt like having partroopers encamped 15 kilometers from his HQ. So he sent a mixed bag of units undergoing refit to sweep up the pesky English. 35 Hours later the 3rd Corps had still not arrived and Grinswck's battalion had been mangled down to a single Company. The Germans lost most of a Motorized Inf Battallion as well as a Volkssturm Batallion. The fighting had see-sawed throughout the day, with first one side then the other taking control of the airfield. During the night things got very confusing and when dawn came, both sides realised that during the chaos of the night they had managed to swop sides... Each side was in control of one end of the airfield, but it was the wrong end... If you like what you read - e-mail me and I'll send it along or dwnload it from the Scenario Depot once it's there Johan 'Biltong' Brittz betrim@xsinet.co.za
  9. Cape Town, South Africa - beautifull city with a funny flat mountain - bloody government dcided to cart it off to make place for a parking garage, but ran out of money halfway through...
  10. Ahh!! Exactly what I wanted - Thanx guys - Still get surprised about the quality of ideas available on this board
  11. It's another QB ME and I line my guys up for the race for positions close to the flags... and I think: "This is so bloody unrealistic... It spoils the whole game - I don't feel like playing ME's anymore." Has anyone come up with a sollution to this problem? (Yes I know the obvious one is to play designed scenarios) I'm talking about some way/rule/mutually agreed on code/restriction ..whatever.. to get rid of the race for flags in QB ME's.
  12. Hi Rune - could ya please send them my way as well - want ta see what all da evil talk's about
  13. Hi Rommel, Please send over - I'll send a report in turn Thanx

  15. Got one made for AI play only - Should give even a vet a hard time Here's the description - if you want to give it a go - let me know and I'll mail it to you "This scenario is for Human vs AI only. Human takes Allied. The idea behind this scenario is 3 fold: 1) It will give you an opportunity to use & experience the 14" & 7" masterblasters Just beware!! - Keep your troops well away! 2) You'll get to use the AVRE's - very usefull against bunkers, but their range is very short 3) You'll have to deal with extensive minefields and bunkers - look after your engineers!! If you don't know how to remove mines with engineers it might be adviseable to set up a practise scenario first So stick to the basics: Scout; Bombard; Scout; smoke; remove mines - be patient & Good luck - You'll need it " BTW - it's 40 round medium size
  16. You can also play a scenario designed specifically for play against the AI Here's the description of one called "Rotten Hill" If you're interested - send me a mail and I'll send it to you. It should give even a veteran player a hard time if he deviates from good tactics "This scenario is for Human vs AI only.
