In the last scenario I played I ordered an artillery barrage during the setup phase. The manual states that this is somekind of pre-planned barrage, without the normal execution delay. During turn 1 the barrage started (the FO had 60 rounds). After 3 turns of prep fire I wanted to stop the barrage, but the command "cancel Target" was missing!?! I wasted a lot of precious ammo this way. Am I missing something, or is is not possible to stop the firing of a pre-planned bombardement :confused:

I think nothing is wrong with you I experienced the same thing with my tanks/AFV's. IMO the correct execution of this command depends on two factors: 1. Experience of the Crew. In the scenarios I played only crews of "regular" or above quality were able to seek hull-down properly. 2. Type of AFV: Vehicles without turret, like StuGs, have greater difficulty to achieve hull-down, because they might not be able to depress the barrel to the degree necessary! Therefore they quite often "overshoot" and form a perfect target against the skyline......

As CDV aren't writing it, how would it? Just think, if it wasn't for that opening splash screen you'd have to find something else to complain about, personally I couldn't care if the opening splash screen showed Brittney Spears, it's the game that counts.</font>

The biggest letdown in the GERMAN demo ist the opening screen! It shows two GIs (yes, Americans!)pulling out in front of a Panther. Congratulations, CDV (the european publisher)!!! By using this picture for the opening screen AND a one-page-ad in the german gaming magazines you showed that you are totally unaware of what this game is all about!!! BTS, still happy with CDV??? I hope this does not give an indication on the quality of the localized german version....

For an elite unit such as the one Wittman was in, yes, it was voluntary. I'm not sure about the rest of the army though... Sorry Panther G, not correct. One Great Uncle of mine (brother of my Grandma) got drafted into LAH and vanished in his Tiger during Operation Zitadelle (Kursk 1943)

At the moment I am reading "Following me and die".This book about the destruction of the 28th U.S. Infantry Division during November '44 in the Huertgen Forest, Germany. Are there any battles and /or operations available covering this battle besides "Vossenack- A second job" and "Kommerscheidt" :confused: Marder
