  1. Aw heck, I can do this Fionn. Just send me the 15 numbers, and I'll send them back to you right away in reverse (or any order) hehehe. On the actual topic though, I have seen Stugs, Shermans and Hellcats make these shots on the fly. The law of averages does come into play here, as I have played these scenarios at least 100 times each. Oh yeah, how do I make those nifty quote lines in a msg.? [This message has been edited by Craig (edited 12-19-99).]
  2. It's all to do with the wiring of the human brain to recognise and take advantage of patterns to cut down on processing time and the fact that the brain has a very powerful "outlier" memory so that it can deal with events which do not fall within the expected pattern stored in the neurons. Holy Crap Fionn, what did you say you did for a living? Work for the CIA on memory retention (must say it worked on you very well). Either that, or you have one very impressive (well indexed) library. [This message has been edited by Craig (edited 12-18-99).]
  3. Ahh, I think I found it A Badger is a Canadian flamethrower that used the flame equipment from the Wasp and mounted it onto a Ram tank. (some with and some without turrets)
  4. Ordered mine about 30 mins after trying the demo. Craig (from where the tax dept. now outnumbers the Dept. of Defense)
  5. Well, in my 3,476th playing of LD, I just had two!! Hellcats knocked out in one turn by 81mm mortar fire, so I would say yes, they are open topped. Craig (wishing the U.S. would buy Saskatchewan)
  6. Well said Mike. You are much better at this than I am. How about it Big Time? Fionn? Wild Bill? Just one itty bitty Xmas present for the huddled masses. I have some nice fruitcake (or cash if absolutely necessary) that I can send in return. Craig (from the land where cops have to take three in the chest before they can fire a warning shot) ps. Fionn, just wondering if you got my msg. Having big mail server probs here.
  7. Mud flaps and baggage?!? My gawd, when you said detail, you weren't kidding Steve. BTW Madmatt and Fionn, the site is looking great. Keep it up!! [This message has been edited by Craig (edited 12-15-99).]
  8. Wild Bill, I would be more than happy to test all of these scenarios against the AI. Of course you will have to trick BTS into sending me the latest build of the game. Craig (from the land of benevolent? dictatorship)
  9. oops, don't push button twice!! [This message has been edited by Craig (edited 12-14-99).]
  10. Wild Bill, I'm with you on this one. Most of my personal library deals with the Pacific, and it is absolutly the one module that I am waiting for. Here's hoping your lobbying is successful. Craig (from the land of worthless currency)
  11. Whazis, Fionn posting again? That must mean we are closer than ever to the gold demo, and he is warming up his keyboard for the onslaught of questions and comments that will descend upon this forum when it's released.
  12. Has anyone read "Ortona"? I believe it's about a Canadian battle in Italy. Saw it in a bookstore, but $40 is a little much to spend on an unknown title.
  13. Nope, they were under my control the whole way,(and for the next turn also) in los of about six squads. I just assume they are always treated as enemy, but are just under your control for movement purposes if they are captured.
  14. I just captured an American MG team in Chance Encounter, and as I was moving it to the rear, it triggered all of my ambush markers within range.:0 As I had yet to KO a single tank, and my troops were on the edge of the woods within los (of the tanks), the results were not pretty. Now that I know this, I can work around it, and thought others should be aware of it to avoid any more nasty suprises.
  15. Perfect post. I was just thinking about how to start one, and what to say, but you beat me to it, and said it all. Kudos to Fionn, for if I were he, I would have left a long long time ago. Craig ps. A neighbor has a saying that fits right into preventing most flame wars... "remember sonny, you're not smart enough to p*ss me off"
  16. Pford, sorry you took anything I said here personally, I guess I'm so excited about CM that it's getting the best of me. I in no way intended to slight the fact that you were trying to help someone (and BTS) out, and apologise if it came across that way.
  17. Yes, that's it!! I have an ongoing report to make for someone and I must evaluate something for it and Richard is assisting me and it has to be done sometime and we need all the help we can get and Combat Mission has become my life and if I play the demo again I will go insane (oops, too late) and a review copy would help and this report is important and and and and... (keyboard explodes) Craig (doing my best to make sure there is no extra bandwidth on the internet) Harvey
  18. I'm just making a poor reference to my post in the "Evaluation Copy" thread.
  19. Yes, very much interested. Any idea when you could do this, and how big the download will be?
  20. Dammit, I should have known better than to answer before Fionn did Now I have to go find more (better) books for my library. Oh well, something to do while waiting for my review copy to arrive hehe
  21. As near as I can tell (so far) the Panzerabwehrwerfer is a recoilless rifle. I am assuming this one refers to an 8cm bore and a range??? of 600 meters. I will do some more digging to see if I can find anything more.
  22. The puppchen was the percursor to the schreck. It use an 8.8cm rocket (like the schreck)that was fired from a small wheeled chassis with a shield on it. It actually looks like a little anti-tank gun. The Germans phased them out as soon as they captured some bazookas and started manufacturing the RP43. Still looking for info on the ...600.
  23. ps. Have you noticed how quiet I've been about whining and crying for more scenarios BTS? That must be worth something. pps. Actually, now that I think about it, I realize I'm afraid of Fionn winking at me again.
  24. LOL! Craig's Computer Corner will need one ASAP also.
  25. I think that is Madmatt's Church of New Scenarios (of which I am a happy new convert) Craig
