Yup. That cannister is a handy load.

OMG simply must include Space Lobsters of Doom (c'mon, someone had to say it).
You got that a few years back in the title "Drop Team".
-
Holy cow - take a break from CM for a few weeks and come back to find this! Tanx a Lot!
-
There's a pdf for CMFI as an individual issue, not a separate hardbound manual.
-
Did your old one die?
Yeah, my one week old one died, but it had to do with a defective Samsung secure erase utility damaging the firmware rather than a problem with the disk itself prior to my trying to erase it. No biggie.

Great. I anticipate mine will be at the house when I get back. BFC/BTS products have always arrived quickly after shipping. It will give me something to do while I wait for a replacement SSD to arrive from Newegg.

On PC, unzip the NVIDIA (or ATI, as the case might be) shader set into the Mods folder under User Data.
If the shadows look lots worse (shadows in weird places, funny looking, etc.) then there could be something with your card or drivers that aren't working like most. Your card does support the extensions necessary to use the improved shadows. I've had very positive reports from people with your card, though, so yeah, it might be an install issue.
That was it. I put it in a Z folder in the program(86)/Battlefront/blah blah rather than in the User data/Mod folder.

Borders of the shadows are jagged, they are not straight lines like in those screenshots where the new shader has worked. Also they flicker a lot when moving the camera,
This is what I'm experiencing as well. I went into the nVidia control panel and tried to make adjustments specific to CMFI for AA/AF, then ingame turned on the filtering and selected best quality everything and it looks the same. I'm using the latest nVidia beta 3.08(I think) drivers.

Odd, the new shaders look far worse on my GTX 560ti, and they look great in RAKE's screenie above. They were supposed to go in the Z folder, right?

I want to recreate my only CMBO scenario styled "flame wars" - 5 flamethrowers v. 5 MG jeeps on a 200m square map of dry forest with dirt trails.
-
My recollection was, as to tanks, I simply placed a waypoint in front of the bridge on the road and one on the opposite side on the road. There wasn't any precision to placement, just one on each side.
-
OH, and don't start playing the scenarios in the order they appear on the scenario menu. In fact, pick just about ANYTHING other than "A Delaying Action".
-
You may be a modern war fanatic and not know it!
True. Happened to me and I'd have never thought it to be so.
-
My eyes are burning now as well from playing so much.
Be thankful you aren't looking at an unmodded CMBO straight out of the box; we loved it anyway!

There are elements of both Aris and Vein's Terrain mods that are "must have". The problem is it's a pita camparing each individual element to determine which one you like best then organizing (or deleting) the ones which you don't want to display, so I'd recommend to look at both of those terrain mods and just go with which ever one as a package you like best.

Time to dump the P2 600mghz Emrys.

Frankly, I figured 3rd week of August at the earliest with a likely delay pushing it back into September.
I was shocked to see the notice when I checked my mail yesterday evening.
-
Damn it! HD crashed last night. Be tommorrow evening before I get a new one installed.

I think what BF is doing with this pricing structure is absolutely freaking awesome. I can’t think of any game publishers that are offering an option to bring your old version up to date with the latest version. In most every case the new version comes with new content and new features (as well as fixes to the engine) but you are forced to pay full price to buy the latest installment and the previous version never gets updated to the current version with all the new enhancements and features.
Agreed. Our "niche" community has been blessed with a group of forward looking developers who LOVE the subject matter. Even if I weren't a wargamer, I can't think of any other developer that has done so much for its customers to make their childhood dreams of playing with plastic soldiers and tanks into such an engaging adult passtime.

Well, there is an increased difficulty in keeping your troops in command but it is a by product of being unable to ID your own troops at a glance if they are out of command, then having to work through the command panel to find them. So, the parameters of command are the same as the other levels, it can become more involved in restoring command, however, due to the interface limitations.

I thought the Ramelle map was about as good of a job as anyone could pull off.
-
No problem, i was just joking.
To Agua, i may have misunderstood but it seems that it's the Panther that is hull down, not the firefly.
Sabot6 wrote "from a hull down PzVG Panther".
Woooops! You're right. Where's that embarassed icon thing?
-
Yup. Let 'er rip. As you're in hull down position, you've diminished the Panther's armor advantage, you've already had a couple bracketing shots and Panther is just lining up to fire one off.

It will work itself out and folks will adapt. Just be thankful to have the ability to play online.
Thank you, Battlefront

Very happy as well. As is always the case, I purchased a disk and manual (even though I alerady had the manual), just to throw some extra change BFC's way.
