  1. From the 3.12 readme that's now in the CMBN folder:

    v3.12 Features:

    .

    TO&E
    .
    * The imposter "Vickers" team that is actually a 2IC team available for purchase as a Specialist Team has been removed.

    .

Ran into  "Vickers" icon for 2IC teams in QB yesterday after installation.

[edited to add:]  This was a computer picked force.

  2. He heh, I'm like you, played every CM game since forever and still have to go look in the key commands menu to remind myself how to toggle stuff. Like movie-mode lighting and brightened night time effect.

Same, and specifically I wondered if my video driver was incompatible with some version of CMx2 when I noticed it was rather bright for a night attack.  I'd inadvertently toggled to the brightened night setting.

  3. Hope I'm not too late to this party (it's been a hell of a year and only now is my life just beginning to get back to "normal"). What I am reading here sounds very good. BFC continues to be an industry leader, for which we may be grateful.

Just in the last few days I've found myself replaying "Task Force Raff" with pleasure and I look forward to the new terrains, organizations, and features this new family offers.

    :)

Michael Effin' Emrys.  Don't remember what the thread was but those who picked Emrys's return before Bulge won.  Welcome Back, Michael.

    • US Campaign gives the player command of the entire Combat Command Reserve (CCR) of 4th Armored Division from December 23-26, as they strive to bash through the German encirclement of Bastogne from the south. Command Lt. Col. Abrams's tank (yes, THAT Abrams). Battle the 5th Fallschirmjäger Division and 26th Volksgrenadier Division. Be the first to reach the 101st at Bastogne in the historic armored dash through Assenois.

My absolute favorite CMBO mission of all time: Assenois.

  5. I haven't touched it in several years, mainly due to the difficulty of installing addons, game updates, etc., during migration between several computers. It was enjoyable, definitely. I didn't care for the way it handled arty, and the maps were very, very limited. Other than those matters, it was, overall, a very good game. Again, the installation / update system is beyond awful, though.
