  1. You must live in a very...greasy world, Michael. Have you tried that white thing projecting from the wall in the little room where you go poo, that has water flowing from it? No, not the one you sit on, the other one with the hot water too. Turn the water on and use that soap-thingie to scrub your hands more often and you might find your paper is much less greasy. See? Wasn't that easy? I'm your friend and I'm here to help. Any other problems I can solve for you while I'm here, Michael?
  2. What will they think of next? Clever, these...Pakistanis? Whoinhell are we outsourcing programming to these days, anyway?
  3. It's an improvement over waterboarding 'em. I'll take progress any way we can get it.
  4. My best wishes to all of you and I hope the coming year is enjoyable and good to you. Even if many of you don't deserve it.
  5. I'm sure that its a bit early to rule out an Obama visit to Iraq. As to Moore, his interests have always been in domestic US issues so I don't see a war film in his agenda. The only reason he is mentioned in this thread is because someone with an axe to grind, saw fit to ridicule him in a pretty petty way. Personally, I have always found the themes and messages of Moore's films to be right on target, although his delivery can be uneven. Moore is the bringer to light of sights, scenes and sounds that many people in high places would rather not be aired. He is not afraid to film the emperor in his new clothes and for that he is to be commended. Were things to go seriously sideways for the Obama administration somewhere down the road, I suspect that Moore would be there documenting the causal flaws and shortcomings for all to see. He is an equal opportunity horsefly biting the butt of the establishment.
  6. Of course, these little wet-dreams about Obama and Moore getting shoe-bombed overlook the fact that the Iraqi press (if not general population) have no axe to grind with either of those two gentlemen; but they certainly do have a bit of cause to be upset with dear old W.
  7. I'm no fan of rage and violence myself but were I an Iraqi journalist who was unexpectedly confronted with this exemplar of insufferable hubris, whose arrogant ignorance has resulted in thousands of lost lives, a resurgent Iran and an Iraq in ruin...well, it might knock me off my nut, too.
  8. A man's biggest and worst mistake is to EVER think he can read a woman's mind. At best, he is lucky to see her finger tighten on the trigger before she takes him out of his misery.
  9. OK, sounds like you've your hands full for now. We'll expect you to be the first to volunteer for the next post-genocide wrapup and country-building exercise, however.
  10. Because no one is willing to take collective responsibility any more ("its a socialist concept") it is an each-man-for-himself world that we have created. And the species advantage granted by altruism is trumped by the propaganda that no one is to be trusted and no one is to be helped, because, after all, they won't help you. Consequently we have the new darwinian rule: In a dog eat dog world, the dog with the biggest litters, wins.
  11. So, Tero, you're writing this from your laptop in Darfur where you are busy feeding orphaned waifs as you type? What a guy!
  12. This could be the greatest game ever and I'd never buy it with such intrusive DRM. I hate to say it but I hope that this firm loses its shirt on sales over this scheme and makes an example of itself to others.
  13. Adolescent rebellion is not restricted to the chronologically adolescent. If there were a "plague germ uniform" someone, somewhere, would be wearing it in giggling glee. One can only have sympathy for this small child with a pair of moronic parents like this. I'd be really curious to come back in a few years and find out what "Little Adolf" has named his kids.
  14. Damn Saudi's, throwin' my gas money around like that.
  15. Yeah, you're right - he had a lot of nerve showing off fairly hairless legs in a Hairy Legs contest.
  16. I was embarrassed and humiliated as an American that a foreigner would have such a low opinion of our leader that he felt not only compelled, but free, to express his opinion in such a base way. How low we have sunk in the eyes of the world, that our leader is a laughing stock who gets no respect. Having said that, I'd sure like to buy the shoes on EBay, if they were offered...
  17. Thanks for the heads' up about the low prices for CMSF - that was one of my many games that was lost during a move earlier this year. Lost a whole damn box full of the latest games...set it aside early in the move, could swear I put it on the moving truck and since then have never been able to locate just that one box. Turned the new place upside down looking for it, too. Damn movers must have been PC gamers...
  18. Some time ago, here in sunny Southern California, I was visiting a militaria shop and a couple of young fellows drove up and parked their BMW. The California plates on the Beemer were: LSSSAH. I asked them if they were Liebstandarte fans and they said, yeah, so what if they were. Given the aura of suspicious hostility they exuded, I didn't think they were pursuing a Boy Scout Merit Badge. I doubt California DMV had a clue about the license plates when they issued them.
  19. Did you try unplugging the laptop, removing the battery for a few minutes and then reinserting the battery and restarting the laptop? That re-set things for mine a while back.
  20. It's tragic - this poor kid has is 15 minutes of fame before he's even 15 months old and will never even remember it. Now hundreds of other wannabees are going to name their kids the same way and he'll just be one of many. Sic transit gloria mundi, as they say.
  21. Certainly bigger changes than I was aware of. I used to try to purchase the current FM sets in the 70's and 80's (unclassified FM's are available from the Government Printing Office) and still have some in storage, with their plastic camo binders. Since those days I have gotten out of touch with the details, though I try to keep up with the trends in general terms at least. Thanks for the illumination guys. I wish there were more threads like this, and fewer silly ones. And then too, I had to start this thread as it was...
