  1. They should be shot...out of a cannon, into a very large pile of cow dung.
  2. Ouch! Snookered again! The tipoff should have been the OP's number of previous posts...
  3. Good 'ole Bond and his stereotyped baddies should be allowed to retire in peace with a choice selection of his nasty/nice babes and let movies move on to cool new franchises, like Bourne...and even that one will soon get long in the tooth.
  4. People like this make me physically ill. They have all this money and it's all about me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, meaningless me.
  5. One o' dem Hong Kong Andreens, eh? Or is the ".hk" for "hanky-panky?"
  6. THANKS for that link! Very very interesting!
  7. Only one? Seems to me that they all lie like a rug when it suits them to.
  8. My own feeling is that this applies to politicians across the board and not just in democracies...of course, in democracies, we crow about how glorious it is to express the will of the people in the democratic process. And when the people are gullible idiots, they often vote more idiots into power. Go figure.
  9. Must be that notorious "dickhead gene" that is found in all too many people at the top of the food chain, for some reason.
  10. Where was she when I last moved to a new house?
  11. Yeah, that's how I understood it to work as well. They pay you with rubber, you pay them with good money and...you lose.
  12. Time for someone to do something about it, it looks like.
  13. For $20 I'll tell you all about my tour of a B-17 and B-24...
  14. Maybe that's how the Greeks forgot how to make Greek Fire... Seriously, this sort of thing makes one understand how freaking out of control much of the military-industrial complex is. The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing is only part of it...the left hand forgot it was busy wanking and the right is busy signing off a new anti-wanking bill.
  15. My concern is more to do with giving the government any more info about me and having it all in one place, smacks of "big brother." In great part, it is an emotionally-based argument, not one based upon a specific concern, more like upon a generalized suspicion. I feel queasy whenever I look at a public data source or credit report about me and see what is already known and available for all to see...but I don't feel quite the same dread about that as I do about the government holding such info. Probably illogical, but that's how feelings are. Factually, I accept that, with the advent of computer databases, networks, the internet, credit reporting systems, etc, etc, everything coming after the creation of the SSN led directly towards an eventual day when government entities will have this info about citizens available, if not in their own databases, then accessible from private or corporate ones. I think what I need to feel better about this is a sort of Digital Bill of Rights to be enacted and enforced upon the government, corporations, private individuals and certainly law-breakers. This would absolutely protect my rights and compensate me monetarily for breaches and abuses. It would have to be a centralized legal document or system and not just a hodge-podge of laws from other arenas. Now to get this idea out to Obama...
  16. I'd heard about London Bridge of course but never figured an air control tower to be something they'd deal with in a similar fashion, tearing down & moving an old one instead of building a new one. I must not know much about air control towers...
  17. Interesting, never knew about that or that it was even possible to move such a structure so far...must have been taken apart entirely or cut into segments perhaps and moved that way...
  18. I'm not sure that I want a government to be all that efficient with my personal data, having it all in one place and logically sorted out; but then again, the banks and credit agencies have me down to a gnat's ass, so what the hell, maybe it is for the better. In some ways, a government that truly has its **** together is a really scary proposition...think "Are your documents in order, citizen?" Some governmental fumbling is, well, reassuring.
  19. Boy, you're dumb, what's wrong with you? Clearly, this man Tony has see the future and there is no call for spell checkers in it...
  20. LUCKY DOG! I'm jealous. The Aluminum Overcast is one of my all-time favorite a/c and I'd love to crawl around inside one...but there's only a couple left, IIRC.
  21. Tight it is, but the B-24 I once toured was even tighter than the B-17 I got into a couple of years ago. I don't know how anybody could have gotten out of one of those Liberators in a hurry...especially the bombardiers; in both a/c they had to crawl through a tunnel under the pilots...very confining and the B-24 had the nose wheel well you had to get around too, IIRC. As to the tower...? They tore it down and trucked it to Arizona? Interesting. When was that and why? Historic value?
  22. Thanks for the tip. You may have some takers here - not me though, I'm pretty much a TBS player myself, except for the Paradox series of strategy games. Too old and cranky, you know.
