My bro has very slow frame rate (actually terrible) with his PC. It is an older PC. Pent 3 700 Mhz Voodoo 5500 PCI 256 MBRam Win ME I have done all I can to fix the issue, formated HD fresh install of everything, and nothing, also tried changing settings of every kind and still nothing. So my last choice is to update his PC or by a whole new PC and give him my current PC. First I thought I would try a new Vid card. Only prob is that the only card I can find better than the Voodoo 5500 PCI he has, is G4 MX420. Which is not that much better. So my question is there better PCI card on the market better than the G4 MX420 that is PCI??? Now before some comes along and says the G4 MX440 or MX460, I already checked hundreds of sites and MX440 & MX460 are only AGP, unless somebody can show me othert wise. Update to my last post Yup might as well order a card of the net because I have been out and about for 4 hours to every dealer I could think off and was only able to locate a G4 MX420 SDRAM, which is the worst of all the MX cards exept earlier versions. So I am just gonna order from the net. First I am gonna format his HD then reload everything. Then I will put in the new card. Strangest thing is all other games that ask for higher PC specs run fine, CMBB is the only game he has ever had probs with. If this card doesn't work I am just gonna get myself a new PC and give him the one I have now. Hey guys I had a thought, could the problem be that the drivers for the Voodoo 5500 card are not completely compatible with Direct X 8.0 and above? He is running Windows Me with direct x 8.1.

Nope he lives in Dallas but still strange anyway to have the same PC setup, and live in same state and have same name. P.S. The specs for his PC: Pent 3 700 Mghz 256 MB Ram Vodoo 5500 PCI 32MB His card info(Voodoo 5500 32 MB PCI) Core clock speed 166.80 Mghz Memory clock speed 166.80 Mghz The Geforce 4 MX440 64MB info: Core clock Speed: 270 MHz Memory clcok Speed: 400 MHz Seems like a big improvement to me. It not that the CMBB looks bad, its just the frame rate is completely awful, even with no trees and the doodads turned off.

First of this card is going to be for my bros PC. I gave him my old PC and it is lacking a good video card. He has a Voodoo 5500 PCI, and the frame rate with CMBB is just completely crap, I have never seen such lag on any game ever. His PC only has PCI slot so it is somewhat limited in video cards options. Here is what I came up with: Either a Geforce MX420 or MX440. Leaning toward the Geforce MX440 has better performance stats with it. Only problems is all I can find is one called Geforce MX440 TV OUT PCI. 1st what does the TV OUT mean, and will it work? 2nd there are numerous manufactors, such as Vision tech, Xtacey, Verto, Prowler & PNY. This card is for my brothers PC, and he does not have AGP slots in his PC. I don't believe GF4 Ti4200 has a PCI version of the card. I have a Pentium 4 1.8ghz with the GF4 Ti4200 in it already. Thanks for the links

Also can anybody tell me the difference between core speed and memory speed? I know my bros performance profile for his Voodoo 5500 PCI card says: Engine clock speed: 166.80mghz Memory clock speed: 166.80mghz I am assuming engine clock is same as core speed.

Specs Gateway Pent 3 700Mghz Vodoo 5500 PCI 256 MB Ram Drivers are up to date He has a very very sluggsh frame rate in bigger scenarios/ops. So slow it is not worth playing in my opinion, and I thought I'd never say that. He does not have an AGP slot, only PCI. I know this because it used to be my old PC. My Bro does not have the cash to get a new vid card, so I thought I would get him one tomorrow. So how does the GeForce4 MX440/MX460 compare to the Voodoo 5500 PCI and what is estimated price? Or is there another card someone recommends??? What is an estimated price? Also will this do the trick, if not, I am debating on building a new PC for myself and giving him what I got now, but I would rather go with a $150 to $200 quick fix. What I don't think it would take a change in scenario format. My reason for this is that there are blank terrain files in the scenario editor. BFC could use one of the blanks for the new Y fork road. LOL HA HA OMG I am laughing so hard. I must admit when I first got CMBO I too thought the same thing. I was so pissed, then a hour later I decided to read the manual while waiting for response, and to my suprise the CD fell out. :eek: I just found this hilarious because so many people have posted about this that I figured everybody knew this already. I too have often wondered why this was left out. Yes it would be extremely useful. I 2nd the Y shaped fork for roads,hedges & fences. MrSpkr, you should add this to the thread named, what should be in the upcoming patch.

Man I really feel for you guys. Only comforting words I can say are, when you actually get CMBB, you will forget all about waiting for so long.

Also the Grille (sig 33 auf Pz38t) & Grille (sig 33/1 auf Pz38t) look identical to the Wespe. I am assuming they share BMP's. I know both the Wespe and Grille (both versions) were very similar, but the Grille had a 150mm howiter where the Wespe had a 105mm Howitzer, but they both appear to have the same gun. Both have a 105mm Howitzer mounted.

Juju All I can say is WOW Nice very nice. You planning on doing the Maxim? There is really nothing wrong with it now, but from a distance, (to me at least) it looks like a M1919 30cal MMG. The shadowing is strange from a distance and makes look like the US 30cal MMG.

Ok got it on the second go. Stupid little brother is visiting me this week and he burned some of my music and put a 74min/650 meg CD-R back in the case of and 80min/700meg CD-R. Well first of nice to meet you mister Preacher. I am not a 100% on what your question is, but I will do my best to give it an from my assumption. I would say your video card does not allow a higher resolution than what your options listed are. If this is not your question will check back for further info.

I tried to do a copy cd burn, and I recieved some such error, and would not even start the burn process. So I then burned from the contents of CD through layout type burn. I use Nero burning program, I have another PC which uses Easy CD creator on my other PC. I will try to burn on the other PC.

If you got the funds, I highly recommend buying CMBB. I promise it will be worth your hard earned cash.

First of I made 2 backups for CMBO, hey you never no when one will screw up. So I decided to make one for CMBB. The burn went fine no errors, but when I tried to run CMBB of burnt disk, it says insert disk. I know CMBO only wanted to know if the disk was there, and that everything was on the HD. So why is it not working for CMBB?

I can't freakin believe it. I opened up my game at 5:30pm installed (which only took me about 10 mins) and have been going through all the infantry types and vehicle types. :eek: It is now 12:44 A.M. and I am still not done. Its time now to quit looking at actually play the thing. You guys really have done yourselfs with CMBB, AW screw it nothing I can say will express the appreciation for this game, even if I sat here and typed 10,000 words. My teams you guessed it is the Colts, well I am also favorable to the Bears.
