if you mean can you see all unit movement paths, that's ALt+P.
ALT+Z is also very handy, that's to represent command links and their quality.

use 7zip - just click on the first file and it will extract all 3 files into one folder.

it may be worth going through all the startup applications and disabling them and see if makes a difference, to hone in on the problem. (Task manager, startup tab)

a clean install (including format of HD) of the latest win10 from a usb stick and then it's a case of following prompts on various tweak sites to remove all the built in crap you don't need. Particularly removing not needed startup items and services. Cortana can easily be fully removed these days and frees up about 60MB+ RAM all by itself - for example. Have a look at winaero tweaker and for those who aren't afraid to operate in a command prompt, research install_wim_tweak (advanced users only).

1) no need to reinstall. You are effectively creating a symlink for your folder on a different drive but the game will still be happy.
2) You mileage may vary here; my suggestion would be to buy an internal SSD for files you require rapid access to, for best speeds.

also note you can move your system documents folder to a different drive, so if you've got heaps of mods and your C drive is getting full, this is a good option.

yep it is in beta but so far I am enjoying what I am seeing. Apart from the all pervasive wifi map and the instant healing/medics. Lawdy husha mah mouth.

@rocketman I have an i7-8700K.
I tried using gsync but it simply doesn't work with Combat Mission, as per comments above it tends to strobe and just be annoying with no difference to perceived smoothness in the game display. Judicious settings in Nvidia inspector will improve stability of frame rate, particularly use of the frame rate limiter (eg set it to 40 or less) and setting your display to the highest fixed rate refresh that it supports.

I recently upgraded to a 2560x1440 Viewsonic xg2703-gs 27" monitor running at 165 Hz. Best thing I ever did! It's an IPS monitor type so the image quality is much nicer than the old TN's. A real step up from my 24" 1920x1080.
I don't use the gsync feature for CM as it doesn't work with games on lower frame rates but haven't noticed any great slowdowns in frame rates since upgrading. Running a 1080 GPU but if you're running a 970 I would think you'd be fine.

For effective catharsis add "hopeless" before "joke".
Speed varies but I've never had a download fail. And it taught me to store all my purchased installer files locally for future re-installations.
