According to the two people I play CM with, who also happen to live in Europe, it is. So much so that they refuse to play PBEM+++.

My prospective opponents are now refusing to play CM with PBEM+++ because of issues they've experienced with it. Some are similar to the FUBARs others have mentioned which prevented them from completing the battles. They've also experienced exceedingly long load and send times up to 20 minutes or more. So, while I hate (re)-installing Dropbox and Whose Turn Is It, I'll do that to keep on playing. @A Canadian Cat - was IanL, what is the latest version of Whose Turn Is It?

I’ll gladly pay for that opportunity! -
Wouldn’t the Russians know if there were F-16s in theater by their radar signature.

I have all the seasons of Faulty Towers on DVD somewhere. This was one of the funniest programs ever! -

I’ve enjoyed Combat Mission since Beyond Overlord more than 20 years ago and own almost every title since. The game I longed for while playing BO finally came to fruition in Cold War and I’ve been enjoying it ever since. -
Open or Closed Hatch, That Is The Question

Just the other day I had a buttoned M60A3 Rise+ sitting on a trail facing downhill with a clear line of sight to the woods at the end of the trail when a T-64 popped out of the woods and with one shot killed the M60. The M60 didn't get a shot off and needless to say, this was frustrating as hell! -

I find all the speculation entertaining. I hope that whatever Battlefront’s next product(s) are have already been decided and well on their way. And, if history repeats itself, I’ll almost certainly buy it(them). -

It might be interesting to understand more about the systems people are playing CM on. Have Battlefront ever polled their customers for system information? -

From an application technological standpoint, what could change in CM3? Not era nor theater, but technology. For example, might CM3 be a Windows application? I realize this is all speculation and the people who do know belong to a secret society and are sworn to secrecy. -

That may be worth investigating then to get my Cold War fix alongside CM:CW. Thanks. -

That is the point I was trying to make earlier only you said it better. -

I'm not into RTS but if Armored Brigade II has a turn-based mode, you can bet I'll give it a close look. -

I agree 100% with everything you said. And thanks for quoting Steve's message about modern and near future stuff as I missed that message. It gives me hope! CM:CW was the game I waited 20 years for, and I'd love to see more from this era and possibly cover the entirety of the Cold War. -

I don't have anything specific in mind but ... Korea 1950 or Korea 2025, pick any of the Arab/Israeli conflicts or imagine a modern conflict vs Iran, Vietnam, Baltics 2026, or a future Taiwan conflict. Will further WWII development bring new blood into the hobby or is it just a rehash of other battles other publishers have already done? -

It seems like most posts in this thread are from people hoping for WWII expansions which I'm sure many of Battlefront's existing customers would enjoy. However, I wonder if those would expand battlefront's existing user base or if they would be better served by creating games that focus on other rea or fictional conflicts. Thoughts? -
Open or Closed Hatch, That Is The Question

Thanks Bill. I’m pretty sure the M60A1 Rise+ tanks I’m driving around now do not have thermals which will give me an opportunity to take in the countryside! -
Whether or not this was the wise thing to do, I got used to having the tank commanders exposed in WWII games to help with spotting. Fast forward to Cold War and I’m wondering if the same advantage exists. Does having the commander exposed improve spotting or is it an unnecessary risk?

I wish I had seen this tournament before today. Are these announced somewhere I could monitor? BTW, I just completed a PBEM of Valley of Ashes and it was one of my most enjoyable battles yet. A whole lotta dying occurred on both sides! -
Congratulations on this intelligent and respectful debate on the future of armor. My question is, how would this discussion differ had Russia invaded a NATO country? I may be wrong, but I assume NATO possess capabilities that would have allowed maneuver warfare and therby unleashing more of the potential of armor.

I am looking forward to the photos and videos of a Ukrainian farmer pulling a T-14 with his tractor!

I am curious … what is involved in upgrading to an export version of the 2A6. I posted before reading the entire thread where this has already been mostly answered. Mea maxima culpa!
