Games that come closest to CM?
Spii replied to B M Deleted's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
Benny, not a game that i know of is like CMission. The old windows simple game robosport had a similar turn sequence, but not much else. I too don't care for hex and card board cutouts, i hope they are a thing of the past and games with CM's format are the future -
Kinda OT: Lots of new people here
Spii replied to Mr. Clark's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
Admiral, i read the CSIM article too and downloaded the demo, ordered just prior to thanksgiving. I luv games with good unpredictable AI, and the demo hooked me. thanks -
<>Empire Deluxe <>Close Combat <>Total Annihilation (pure fun but hugo size editor that was porrly implemented didnt do it for me in the long run <>also like Populous when it was playable on the pre-pentium computers

Why squares instead of hexagons?
Spii replied to Triggerhappy's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
Steve, I prefer the NON-hexed look of the game. Hexagons remind of the old days of poor graphics and fuzzy objectives. Appreciate Cm commitment to quality graphics on top of the good gameplay. -

Is there no winter camo for allied 44 infantry
Spii replied to a topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
Max please send that hi-res allied winter mod and any other hi-res uniform mods u have made to your biggest fan at spii@mail.com thanks Pete -
I second that issue. I received your excellent mods, and used only the bitmaps i liked, not the batch files for switching. The m5 and m8 have gorgeous light colored armor. The Stuart has light colored nose and turret armor (same bmps at the m5 or m8 i assume) the stuarts rest armor is dark green. Is there any workaround? thanks and nice work!
