Michael, I ran into the same thing... Not remembering if I had the first update I downloaded both and burnt them to a CD at work. Upon loading them on my drive at home they where named the same w/ different creation dates. I had no problems. Cheers, printt

Panzer Infomation (tranny & gear ratios)
printt replied to printt's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
Thank You! printt -
Specifically the gear ratio data for the MKIV H tank transmission is what I'm looking for. There are a lot of sites on the panther but none specific enough... Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks, printt

Is there any way to check on accumlative mine damage (especialy during the game recap/map screen at the end of the game) other than actually seeing the men muttle though the field? thanks! printt

Over on AGW(Warbirds) board there is an interesting conversation going on. There are a couple of guys over there that seem to know there stuff. What started, by the sim designer, to be fact finding has take a couple of directions but is pretty much on tract. In reading note the anecdotal experiences. Pay special attention to "Wolf" and "Badger". I thought maybe one or two of you grogs would enjoy! printt The link: http://agw.dogfighter.com/agw//Forum3/HTML/021762.html

Putting togethor a "New Players Guide"
printt replied to Abbott's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Great idea! I just hope it doesn't upset the boys at BTS... I think I remeber them being a bit aprehensive about creating an Acrobat (.pdf) manual to somewhat curb the CD burner scabs. If you do create a "guide" I personally would love to see the exelent information posted at http://members.tripod.com/johnnocmdow/unit1.htm for some good "porcelain research". An Acrobat guide would be the best way to publish for it would take care of resolution, font and cross-platform ramifications. If I can help in any way just drop me a note... Publishing is my life... <sarcasm on> except for one piece of software I can't remember the title just now. <sarcasm off> printt -
Interesting topic! I was reading on AGW (Warbirds Board) just yesterday of occurances with skip/ricochet shots used by Jugs (p-47's) to bounce a few rounds into the "soft underbelly" of the Axis armor. Today I went to find the thread to post but it seams that AGW is down today. I will chime in later when I am a bit more informed. I don't remember if the P-47 used it's rockets or it's 8 50 cal.'s though. Which poses a good question... Is a 50 cal AP round capable of piercing the belly armor especialy after "tumbling"? Does anyone have such data..i.e. armor thickness of the bottom? If I am not mistaken there where escape hatches on some if not all tank bellies. Anyone in the know please feel free to elaborate. printt

"MOVE" or "PLACE" in set-up round?
printt replied to printt's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
L.Tankersley wrote: "(Sometimes you don't get the rotate automatically when moving; I suspect a minor bug.)" --------- Therein is the ambiguity... Thanks! printt -
Am I missing something here or is there a real difference? I've yet to detect one but that's not saying much... Thanks, printt

This has happened to me before and if I remember correctly all you have to do is to open and save the particular ".cmb" file in your scenario editor and it will show up in your "battles" directory within CM. Make sure to save the scenario to the correct file. Rebulding your desktop (if on a mac) may help also. I hope this helps. printt

How to get rid of the game exit explosion?
printt replied to Fuerte2's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
The same process will work for the cornet notes at the end of a battle no? It is a dead giveaway my wife is conditioned to and I would be a lot better off if she was not to hear I am done with my proverbial "last battle". hehehe..it's kind of like muffling the tab on a fresh beer can... except in reverse of course. Thank You! printt p.s.: what is the .wav address of the sound file I am speaking of? -

Greetings CM Junkies! I ran several searches in several catagories and came up empty... If amyone has any insight on "Minnimum Extention Sets for Mac" I would be much ablieged. At the present I don't have any perceived problems with my b/w G3 but I would like to get everything I can out of my box and this marvelous piece of software. Thanks & Salute! printt [This message has been edited by printt (edited 12-20-2000).]
