  1. Late night night vision wermacht teenage boys and old men almost won the war silly.
  2. Well think about it, how much different can a friggin box with an X in it look?
  3. Nope, at a stragic level like this you have to have a replay for PBEM to even work. Tell ya what...try playing the AI even now (FOW on) but walk away from the screen completely until it's turn is over- thats what PBEMers will be facing but 5x worse since we intend to play thinking peeople (well I do . Little thing like which way that 6 army retreated becomes unknown even though they WERE in spotting range. Never mind not knowing if it was a sub, fleet or air that sunk your battleship. I'll just play the TCP mode until it's patched *sigh*
  4. And just in case... You can load any unit next to a port onto transports (right click him) and sail them on the same turn, then unload on any following turn as above.
  5. I can predict Britain/US bombing will have a HUGE effect in 42 & 43 once Germany is tied up with Russia. We're complaining about small early runs in 40/41 being useless and I'm pretty sure that really WAS the case. The air war is going to be important over northern europe and Germany will never have quite enough resources to keep it going while fighting Russia. As far as subs go, turn on the FOW !! I park 3 11 strenght subs off America with one rotating in for repairs and sink 17-25 ( not counting +5 in med) MMPs and god save the fleet that runs into a german (11) U-boat and gets surprised. Save those french fleets, you're gonna need em
  6. I play at intermediate, FOW on, no bonus to AI (+0). Subs become devastating out in the atlantic this way, 3 subs, 18mmp each turn sunk, plus the 5 from the Med. I like to keep the 11 strength subs parked close to America for the British navy to be surprised, and I clean up . Knocks a battleship down to 3 and the next sub comes to sink it without damage.
  7. Concerning AI combat results seeming to be better than yours, I think we can chalk that up to the AI being clever enough to keep units under HQ attachment The AI plays pretty solid in all my 30? 40? tries at the game (man it's addicting!). As far as the sub issue goes (I know, another thread), they do get spotted & sunk very easily without FOW turned on, but with fog of war on they wreak havoc in the Atlantic. It's easy to draw the royal navy into the channel & kill it with 4 or 5 air units and the navy on station, then the kreigsmarine can have a field day. Sub research then becomes real scary for the allies. Try it with fog of war turned on, it's great. Attacking Russia eary gives a glimpse of combat on the steppes, I love it, racing to resources before Russia can put the HQs & air into play. I get the feel of a perfect mix of tension, grabbing land, worrying about raising tech, crippling the enemy hard in one aspect and taking advantage of it. This will be a great HTH game. Plenty of strategy required. Congratulations on a fine, fine game Hubert. I cant imagine what you had to go through to get this completed, we're all envious . There is only 1 real issue that needs addressed, ADD ONE MORE YEAR TO THE BETA!!
  8. You encourage your buddies by yelling "C'mon men, go go go !"

  10. Given by my alcoholic ex-wife in her best drunken stupor of an ironic accusation to deny her current condition. I thought it was funny and kept it.
  11. I'm courious what die hard player's opinios are about which engagement type is the hardest to play. I thought I read in one of these posts a month or so ago that defending an assault was the eorst... I'm looking for the biggest chalenge, what should I try to play?
  12. Well you're less boring than the maneuver/attrition debate, but maybe I need to find some real players.
