Slitherine just announced this one today on the live stream. After the Check Your 6 debacle
I hope it lives up to it's potential. Could be the tactical dog fight game I have been wanting for a long time.

Yeah, I think the 3080s were actually scalpers taking advantage of the release and the hype. I kinda lumped them in with the miners. The monitor part was actually a joke.
It's been a weird couple of years since I built my machine. I got in just before everything went nuts back in February of 2017. Christ, my GTX 1080 is still going for about 300 more than I paid. It never really depreciated.

My fantasy would be that they create an engine that plugs into and upgrades what we already have.
Steve's fantasy is that it won't take as long to release stuff because all the TO&E is already done.
Whose fantasy is more realistic? LOL.

As cool as a 3rd iteration would be, god how I loathe the thought of how long it's gonna take to add what we already have.

Yeah its 5120 x 1440 if I understand correctly. In any case its no longer available. Monitors, GPUs are in short supply and sold out as quickly as they appear. I ended up getting the GHG90 that runs 3840x1080P at 144Hz
So what, are the a**h*** miners buying up all the monitors now as well? LOL. I HATE those guys. Between Coof and miners, hardware is becoming worse than it was in late 17+. People were selling those first 3080s for 15 grand and dummies were buying them.
Heard hard drives are gonna take a big hit too, something to do with a new technique that utilizes the space on them or some such.

LOL. According to your posts you've been gone for eight years! Unless you were lurking. Kinda makes sense why you don't understand what's going on at this point. If you'd just came to the site as a Newbie it probably wouldn't have been as confusing. You probably would've just bought the bundles.
Well, BN is gonna be on Steam after CW is released, then at some point FI, FB and RT, so yes, you'll have that option eventually.

Traditionally Erwin has always gotten it wrong about the Early War stuff. He has a lot of wishful thinking. Somewhere along the line he got the idea the early Western Front was part of the plan. He's been corrected a few times but god, it's been 10 years, 7 titles, 8 Modules, 1 Battle Pack, 2 Scenario Packs, 3 Upgrades, and 200,000+ threads, so you can't expect him to remember all of it! BUT, BUT, BUUUUUUUUUT, to be fair, up until recently the plan was supposed to be BF working backwards until the East Front hit Barbarossa.
However, as we know with BF, plans change, especially when they say they aren't gonna do something. So it remains to be seen. But here's something to chew on, once FB gets its module, that is it for WWII. We all know they aren't gonna stop producing WWII content. So the question is, what will it be? Another title? Vehicle Packs? New nations? The mythical CM3?

I can't figure out what you mean. All I have is the link in my orders page, and that downloads v1.0
The full installers include EVERYTHING, base games, modules and patches so all you have to do is install once, apply your keys and you are good. No more installing everything separately. Contact @Elvis and he can help you out.

I can get you a download link. However, I won't have access to your license keys.
Perfect time to remind people (if they don't already do it) to create multiple copies of their license keys. I have a master email that contains all my keys. Every time I get a new game/module I open the email, hit reply, add the labeled key (Ex CMBS e5ty336...)to the email, and resend it to myself. I keep a Combat Mission folder on Yahoo where I put all of them. I also have a back up file on my comp just in case my internet goes out etc. So, between BF, my email, and my comp, I am pretty much covered. Keeping a copy on a thumb drive, portable drive or note book wouldn't be a bad idea either. The more places the better, I say.

And we always come back to this. The game is built for people who have been playing CM games for 20 years and scour the forums for every tidbit of information. It has been requested ad nauseum to have a FAQ section where little pieces of info can be collected. It would seem to be a common sense approach if its too resource intensive to keep updating a manual.
I an started one in 2017.

Huh. I get an invalid link. Doesn't matter, I have all the full installers saved now, anyhow.
Ah, well you learn something new everyday. I can't remember how I got all the full installers, but I've been updating them every time a new one is released. Makes it a whole lot easier than the old days.

Apparently the links to the patch (which usually has the full installer) are invalid so I can understand your frustration.

All you should have to do is download the all-in-one installer. Install it, then put your activation keys in.

Well, Steve said that the Engine 5 upgrade was going to focus on performance issues so here's hoping something can be done about performance.

I can see why you'd think that. Fair enough.
I knew it'd be rash to ask and am now kicking myself for not researching it thoroughly. Again, I am glad to be wrong!
Ok. Fair enough it is. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. I just don't want to see a bunch of weirdness dragged into this hobby/place like has plagued and destroyed a lot of others in the last few years. I come here to escape modern politics and real world BS. We'll chalk it up to bad timing/misunderstanding/lack of knowledge.
I am normally pretty friendly to noobs, believe it or not, thread just struck me wrong, I suppose.
So, welcome.

Well I love your portraits across all the WW2 titles, great work - not sure if you do modern stuff as I haven't got there yet .
Cool. Glad you like them. I did 3200 portraits for SF2, and I have the old style BS one that still needs to be replaced. I have been slowly changing them over for the last three years. I started back in August of 2018. Next up will be CMBN, which will be version 5!

Thank ya, brother. There's a lot I don't like in it now but that's a mountain best climbed some other time.
