  1. I have a few to add to the list.

Combat Mission has an end user agreement explaining all the legalities involved in the relationship.

Combat Mission comes with a comprehensive manual explaining how it works.

Combat mission is fairly bug free. LOL! I don't mean that in the way some of you are going to take it!

In Combat Mission you understand why you are fighting.

Combat Mission doesn't crash every twenty eight days.

Combat Mission doesn't bring up past battles

while your in the midst of a new battle.

Combat Mission doesn't leave you shell shocked.

We are brothers in arms fellas. I tip my helmet to all you war weary veterans smile.gif

  2. I like the graphics and I am an eye candy junky. But eye candy alone will never do it for me and that is where CM shines. The graphics are more than adequate. Would I like to see some better troop modeling? Sure but if it never happened I wouldn't lose any sleep. Graphics as graphics go can always be better, always be improved. But it's the marriage of the graphics and the gaming that blow me away. I have seen some cool stuff in games before but CM takes the cake. I am constantly suprised by all the little details of combat that it models so well. I am always going WOW and wishing there was someone right there at that moment that could enjoy the wild show that I'd just watched.

And another thing I like so much about the game is how customizable it is. I really get into being able to personalize a game and I think it's really cool that BTS gave us that option. I am not talking about modding as far as changing the code, just the little tweaks to the graphics and sound that add even more to the gaming experience. I hope that they never change this aspect. It's enough for me. I is happy.

  3. Last night my girlfriend and I were involved in a conversation where the crass and flinch inducing statement of "that video game you play" (Combat Mission)came up. Well my friends I set about quickly pointing out that Combat Mission is NOT(Shudder)"A Video Game" but a "tacticle simulation of infantry and armored combat set during and after the period of the invasion of Normandy" I believe the reply was "well, whatever". Her eyes have a way of glazing over whenever it comes to such topics. smile.gif

Hey it sounded sweet to me.

Mord: changing the video game viewpoints of girlfriends around the globe one statement at a time.

  4. Hey kump pics look good! I started messing around this morning did a first attempt at tackling grass. Didn't look too bad for a first try that is. But could be WAAAY better I'll have this down I think in no time, and then it'll be like a junkie sellin' smack! I will leave the vehicle side of this to the masters though...I know where to draw the line!

Bruno, I'm not a huge Tonedown fan either, I'm in the middle. But I find a little in each mod that I like. I use stuff from everywhere.

  6. Maj Basco and Scout you both make good points. At first I thought it would be a great game for Combat Mission but in retrospect, having learned alot since I have been here,I know longer feel that way. But I'd still love to see a Nam game made! One that payed close attention to realism. I still say that it would be a game that was enjoyable for all the reasons I state before and a few more. thanks for the input.

  7. I guess I wasted my breath....Geez I wonder how many more witty comments I'm gonna get on

"I'd love to play a game where you walk around in the jungle for a month and get to shoot your gun once while the enemy hides." It's almost funny the first hundred times i've read that all over the board.

But I did like the Jane Fonda comment though, that cracked me up.

  8. Fellas I just made a massive sacrifice for the good of my gaming habits. I just sold 30

computer games to get the money up to buy CM. I am mailing my Money order tomorrow!!

Yehaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! My girlfriend doesn't get it, but I am sure you all do! I'll tell you what, the amount of money I got per game may not have been much, but CM is well worth the trade and sacrifice. I CAN"T WAIT!!

  10. I have an ATI card but not the newest one. I do know that All these cards have a problem with Anti Alaising which takes the jags outta graphics. Now I also don't know if there is a feature in CM to turn this on or off, or a feature on your card that turns this on or off but I do know that it causes some weird graphical problems.

Try Going to WWW.ATI.com and see if they have a driver update for the Radeon. Driver updates have helped me in the past, when having game problems concerend with graphics. Just make sure you get the right Driver! Trust me on this!!

  11. I've been a wonderin' when all you modders were gonna start messing with the skyline!

Go for it fellas I for one would like to see the results. And hopefully my opinion counts even though I am becomming a recognized ModSlut.

Once I get the full version of this game and I find the time between killin' everything in sight I am gonna start contributing to this community. I don't know how I'll fair but there are alot of little things I can tackle. I have made pics in adobe that were pretty cool...so maybe I can do this.

  12. Ok this time my Sherman targets a pillbox 560meters away and wastes it. Said pillbox doesn't even fire. It also takes out a 75mm bunker but that may have fired I am not sure, bunker is 526meters away. Not only is it positive what theses units are but also their experience level.

The thing is though, later on I have a Sherman 90 meters from a light buliding, who has been fired on for a few rounds by it's occupant and there is a question mark as to weather this is an MG Crew? I don't get this.

It isn't gonna kill me with this in the game

but I shouldn't know this stuff really.

  13. I just had the coolest thing happen...well they were my guys getting wasted but it was righteous!

One of my Shermans was moving quick around a clump of trees, I was zoomed all the way in 'cause I was trying to figure out what happened to the tank and crew in the first place, anyway as the tank goes by this clump of trees I see a grenade come tumbling out of the corner of the screen. It lands underneath the Sherman and KAPOW immoblizes it. Next thing I hear is the hatch popping and the crew, all unhurt, begins to crawl out, just as they are about to stand POWPOWPOWPOWPOW! They were dealt a massive dose of german death lead! It was SO COOL!

I watched it like five times just from the angle of the Germans in the trees. Then from a couple different perspectives. One time I clicked on the crew and their health jumped over to the casualty box so quick it was almost instantaneous.

    GOD!! I LOVE THIS GAME!!
