  1. Hmmmm I have not loaded up the map but I fear for Bil,

    ;)

You see from what I can see I don't think it is great tank country, the off road moves will be limited by the poor terrain (boulders etc..) that and the small map size limits any easy flank moves to take on the sides of the Panthers.

His height advantage might be the key if he can obtain plunging fire on the top armour? But if Doug can get the right angles he will control the floor of the valley, from the way I am seeing it at the moment...

I think it could be down to infantry and smoke etc... with Zooks... Not sure how many he has? Will have to double check his force composition....

Not sure the Shermans will be able to get down that road now the Panthers are in position? But oif course I could be wrong and very happy to be sat on the side lines eating pop corn...

  2. It also works to reduce fatigue while using [Hunt], using 3 AS length waypoints with 10 second pauses will ensure you can cross vast distances using [Hunt] without your men getting exhausted.

It is slower than running straight to your destination, but it's a heck of a lot safer when contact is imminent.

You learn something new everyday, I just wish I could keep it remembered....

    ;)

Useful tip as I rarely use hunt due to troops getting fatigued.

  3. If it was me and I had not processed the turn I would be OK with using the updated one.

I think the title of the thread is spot on, especially as you are going over map closely outside this game. NP from my POV as it is a game....

I rarely play QB's as the limited gaming time I get is invested into scenarios usually playing double blind, so your level of "research" would be wrong. But for QB's it seems fine IMO.

  4. As a German player I'll always prefer a Panther to a Tiger, at least on the western front. While the Tiger's 88 is less powerful the Panther's 75, it's powerful enough to deal with any tank the Allies have, and has nearly double side and rear armour to the Panther.

When defending against Germans I plan for my opponent taking Tigers and hope he'll grab Panthers instead!

Bud I have been rereading this several times and I think your dyslexia kicked in and you are saying you prefer a Tiger?

I quite like the Panther but as I do not play QB's I have no idea of the cost difference between Panther and Tiger?

  5. I usually make a risk call based upon chances of pesky inf being nearby on this map and knowing the set up zones I would have started with T/C out and spotting.

To me at this stage why not have the T/C spotting. It will be interesting to have his view but we will have to wait for that as I will not be letting the cat out of the bag.

Also I wondered when you did your threat assessment why Panther was not mentioned by you. Now that cat is out I guess your analysis was based upon what you would have taken? Tiger rather than a Panther?

  6. :)

I think there is a market for a different style of CM and a kick starter might be worth a try?

There are some good examples of various games companies been given the freedom to develop stuff directly for their players.

And we know Steve and the team has a good track record of delivering the goods...
