Fraps has been around quite awhile and is primarily used to test video drivers, graphic settings, options, etc. in games to get the best tradeoff of frames per second versus eye candy. It is used extensively in combat flight sims, where your frames per second is crucial. The screen capture ability was recently introduced to Fraps (a couple of sub-versions ago).

Only you would think of cooking that way! (NICE mods too! *grin*)

Is the rest of the review prone to understatement?

Hmm, second glance "X Interface still rather clumsy" ...can't even understand that part. Are you guys really made because he didn't like the shockwaves from CMBO?

Perhaps you're looking at it all wrong. Did BTS ever say the AI was a "he?" If you look at like my/your/their wife is buying the units, it makes a lot more sense. (After many years, you start to see a consistancy to the inconsistancy of what they do)

I beg to differ. I think CMBB is a wargame, which is a bird of a much different feather. Your comments are all valid if one accepts your premise that CMBB is indeed a (mere) game. Where they lose validity is when they are applied to a wargame. (If I hadn't been up all night, I'd dig out an out of print book called "sorcerers and soldiers" which gives a nice overview of the history of wargaming... essentially it was developed to simulate, rather than to entertain) (edited for a typo... told you I'd been up all night *grin*) [ December 10, 2002, 11:23 AM: Message edited by: -E ]
