  1. Check the SendExtra option that is mentioned in the Readme. It is the same option for both CMBO and CMBB, but with CMBB it has to be in PBEM.INI after [CMBB]. And if it still does not work, then perhaps Ctrl+Shift+P does.
  2. Yes, that is the one downside with PBEM Helper. It does not automatically detect some games, you have to manually enable them, if the installation program does not put any trace into the registry. But that is just a problem with the game: It is impossible to do any automatic patch later, because the patch does not know where the program has been installed. I could add a new feature so that it checks first the default installation location, "%program files%\Combat Mission 2" in this case. Or is it "%program files%\Barbarossa to Berlin" in the U.S. version.
  3. Oh, now I see... can you confirm what is your .exe name? The latest PBEM Helper version has "CombatMission2.exe". The demo was "Barbarossa to Berlin Demo.exe", that's why I put "Barbaross to Berlin.exe" to CMBB.INI before I actually had the product.
  4. I belive that I posted a fixed version here: http://www.nic.fi/~fuerte/pbemexe.zip This is just an update, you need the full install first. Then you just extract this over the old version. This has the correct CMBB executable name, and the automatic sending of file name and password should work better. I noticed yesterday that it still fails in some cases... I got an error "Script takes longer to execute than expected, Abort/Continue". I'll see what I can do with this. PBEM Helper uses a VBScript file CMBB.VBS to send the file name and password. You can delete a game by first going to Edit F2, there is a Delete button.
  5. It keeps track of your PBEM files, whether you should play or send them. And it sends them, and when you receive files from your opponent, it puts them into correct folder. And it can automatically start the received game, automatically enter the file name and password, you just have to play.
  6. Here: PBEM Helper update Here is the full install: PBEM Helper You still need the update for CMBB. CMBBdemo and CMBO are supported as well.
  7. I just got CM2 (CMBB). The game cover is in Finnish, and it says that the package includes a 266 page Finnish manual. I was disappointed, because I rather have an English manual. But when I opened the package, the manual was in fact in English! The package cover mentions www.plan1.fi and www.combatmission2.de. I am just installing the game, it is unpacking zillion bmps to my hard disk. Ugh.
  8. Yes, it is WinXP compatible, I have been using WinXP for months now, never had any problems, except with those nVidia drivers... now that I think about it, maybe the problem is in WinXP instead! I have this "SendExtra" option that is needed on non-WinXP machines, I never understood the reason for it. The automatic password entering didn't work until I removed that extra "x", that was sent before the password. What exactly was your problem?
  9. The new PBEM Helper 1.2.207 has two new options: Automatically Play received games Automatically Send played games Now all you need to do is to Open the e-mail attachment (if using .PBM format), or save it into My Documents\PBEM\CMBB(demo) and run PBEM Helper, then you will get automatically into the game, no clicks or typing required. And when you are done, just exit CMBB(demo) and PBEM Helper will send the e-mail. CMBO, CMBBdemo and CMBB supported, CMBB not tested, though! Warning: CMBO is now implemented as user-defined program, it is just another .INI file. Automatic sending of file name and password is done by Visual Basic Script file (.VBS).

  11. CM3 will be in far east, U.S. vs Japan. Says me.
  12. I get it when I click on a bailed out Panzer IVB crew while viewing the German replay. Yes please move this thread to that forum.
  13. Unhandled exception: c0000005 At address: 737705b9 In Citadel.
  14. Also renaming 00000170.WAV to something else gets rid of the intro drum roll, and renaming 00000152.WAV quiets the button click.
  15. The CMBO FAQ worked here. I just renamed that file and got rid of the exit explosion. "How do I change that really loud exit sound? Change file 00000171.wav and either use a computer sound recorder program to reduce the noise level or copy in a different sound like the sniper sound 00000410.wav or the "Taps" end of battle sound 00000129.wav."
  16. I have noticed that for example Laser Squad Nemesis runs much worse with Detonator 40.41, the display flashes oddly. I have some other problems as well.
  17. How do I change that Exit explosion to something quieter and shorter?
  18. How do you get the CD copy protection to work with this scheme?? Maybe they should have a CloneCD image available...
  19. One thing that may be relevant here is that the better the AI is, the more the game engine makes decisions instead of you, the less there is a game. This was discussed in CMBO forum ages ago. CMBB is perhaps less a game in this sense, its more like a simulation. But I don't have enough experience on CMBB demo at this point to make this claim. I surely enjoyed the tutorial, those Russian sounds sound very realistic! Now I am testing the Citadel scenario, playing PBEM game locally, and it surely feels different than CMBO. It might be better. One thing is sure: I'm buying CMBB when it comes to Finland. Btw, is there a bug? Alt+B does not bring up the scenario briefing while playing Russian in Citadel PBEM.
  20. One more comment: This system could be used with single player and network games as well.
