Does one side have assault boats? (The usual answer for this type of question). The AI cannot handle assault boats, so any scenario with them can only be played against another human opponent.
-
How about a STGIII hitting an M8 Greyhound in the side with 2 upper hull penetrations from less than 200 meters... without destroying the greyhound, or inflicting any casualties? (of course the third round blew up the greyhound), but still...

Dalem, you're not kidding. On my last trip through that longggg drive... the toll was more expensive than the amount of gas we used.

Well, I would... if my cd-rom didn't decide to crap out and decide to lose it's drivers. If I can manage to get Win98 to recognize my cd-rom again tonight (for some reason it won't), I'll send a setup to you <g>.

I also use Zonealarm, but it can be set up to allow you to play a TCP/IP game with somone while still remaining active, and thus preventing anyone else from getting access into your PC.
Just insert your opponent's IP number via the Security advanced tab.

And with a rumored $500 price tag for the new card, it puts a crunch on a lot of us. My TNT2 card works just fine for me, and I got it for under $100.

I had picked up some in HO/OO scale (also known as 1/76) way back in the early 80's. Brit 8th Army, and German Afrika Corps. Another company made the exact same figs, same scale and everything about a decade later. Ertl or someone I think.

Didn't a thread with this topic get locked a few days ago? How about getting rid of this one too Matt?

IIRC, Steve did mention that the parameters of a QB would be put into CM2 so that both players know the basics before choosing forces. I think he mentioned it a couple weeks ago.

Got mine from Lord of the Rings. Elros, brother of Elrond, and first king of Numenor.
I've always been a fan of LotR, and that name has a ring to it.

Clarification...
A pdf of the entire manual I know is out of the question, but perhaps a pdf or WORD document, or even a plain txt file of all the changes perhaps?
Even though the readme files from the patches do well enough for me.

I think the pdf idea has some merit. But aren't the readme files for the patches enough? Are there really that many changes than would necessitate printing a new manual?
just my 2 cents...

When I first got CM, I was running it with a 4mb video card, and that was at it's limit, so I'm guessing that it is really pushing a 2mb card. I could not use most of the mods because they would slow down my system, and look blurry when viewed up close. Things such as faces and road wheels were extremely blurry up close.
Happily, not a problem now since I upgraded the card.

I loved the Haunted Tank series. I'm 33 and will probably die before both of you
I liked the fact that they used all sorts of tanks, and fought on every front of the ETO (yes, I know it's not realistic, but hey).

On behalf of Kitty, to all the Peng threaders... Whoever starts the Next Peng thread (whenever that may be, eons from now), it should be called Kitty's Litter (or Litterbox
)

You know it's bad when you watch the Super Bowl... not for the game (I had no interest in either team), but for the commercials.

Might the German tanks have been Pattons? I forget the M number (maybe M48's as Rob/1 said)

FOrgive my computer and Internet illiterateness, but could you provide a link ot that Usenet site? thankee much.

I like Slapdragon's title
but Beyond Barbarossa is good too.

From what I've heard/read about the Wurfgranate 39 shell, it required fairly firm ground in order to be effective. If the ground was muddy or too soft in any way, the round would bury itself and fail to get the "bounce" effect.

Harrison Ford was in Force 10 From Navarone. He played the part that Gregory Peck played in Guns of Navarone.

IIRC, it was found in the pre-Beta test that if the turn is crunched on both computers, then variations in processor speed and other tech stuff could result in each player seeing different results. So it was decided to crunch on only one machine. Isn't that what Matt and Steve told us back in the fall?
