  1. Er, he never planned to hold it all. Just carve out a bigger niche for Germany and then set up rump states all around.
  2. Rambo, send me an email with your game parameters if you want Allies or just send the Axis first move. Finally going to have time for the home machine tonight.
  3. Hear they're doing great things with LED's and fluorescents these days. Ok, good enough. Back to the realtime/wego debate.
  4. Back to work you! Btw, my point on longevity was that latecomers to the party buy on word of mouth. You're still selling a few of the CM series, aren't you?
  5. That's a no brainer. Given BFC's track record, it's pretty obvious you might just be missing out on a great game.
  6. That would work too. But, since Battlefront is relying on others to make all these maps, it would be nice if they set up a server host. Remember when the Scenario Depot crashed?
  7. Dunno, we've never seen the sales figures. But I did buy all three of the CM series, and would have bought another if they had made it. Whoops, forgot CM Campaigns. Looks like it's gonna be four after all.
  8. Sheesh, they sure get pissed if you miss the target.
  9. Oh sure, I understand why you're going the way your going. Campaigns = Sales. But, Random Maps = Longevity Which, at some point, has to translate into sales after the initial buzz of the release wears off. Perhaps throw in the horse**** random map generator. Better than nuthin if you can just dust off some old code.
  10. Er, I only have three games on my harddrive. Two of them are yours. Go with the random map, campaigns are only really fun once. Now, if you could do a randomly generated campaign...
  11. Went 14 for 43 on the ruffed grouse this weekend. That's seen birds, we ain't counting the ones that flushed out of sight. Shot nine on Saturday, got up Sunday morning and shot five more before lunch. What a riot, the little bastages were everywhere. Shot one off the cabin roof even. Grab your shotgun and get back out there NGCavscout! Woot! Woot! Woot!
  12. Can't, on my way out the door grouse hunting right now. Maybe we could start a pbem some other time. One question though, you within 50 miles of the closest airport?
  13. Shoot, I'll have to remember to make a point of buying Patton early next time.
  14. Keep the engineers. Gives the player a chance to build a defense in a selected spot.
  15. Most aircraft of the time operated off of grass strips. Even on a mountain square, you'll find something to fly off of at this scale. Frozen in place for the winter is just as big an abstraction as an air base counter. Just a game design decision, no biggy. Same as the mud effect.
  16. Easy way, count up your units, divide by the HQ's national ability to control. Don't count units that you're going to leave as "speedbumps". For the Russian's, two is plenty till you're ready to go on the offensive. For the UK, steal the one from Egypt if you can. US, don't bother, buy another bomber instead.
  17. Development of arresting gear and catapults on carriers was started in WWI. http://www.chinfo.navy.mil/navpalib/ships/carriers/cv-hist1.html Catapults weren't used so much, mostly because the planes of the era didn't really require them. But they certainly use arresting gear.
