  1. The beach, bikini-clad girls, lack of snow, bikini-clad girls, ocean fishing, bikini-clad girls, gorgeous sunsets, bikini-clad girls, fresh seafood, bikini-clad girls, tropical forest. Did I mention the bikini-clad girls?
  2. dalem, just fertilize the Creeping Charlie. A little midnight seeding expedition on his side of the fence would be even better. You might also want to inquire if he has hayfever or other allergies you can exploit. You do have Creeping Charlie, don't you?
  3. I don't know what you guys are arguing about. In the grand scheme of things Finland was a sideshow. We can make just as good an argument (if not better) for extending the map south into Africa. The game is the game. Maybe in SC2 everybody will be happy.
  4. Only in the demo...
  5. I'm shocked - shocked - to find wargaming is going on in here!
  6. Because we'll be kicking him in the shins and digging into his wallet to cover the bar tab. Papa Kahn, bring your Visa, I'm feeling thirsty.
  7. Please, Marlow, It is entirely possible to issue a taunt to a open sore of a Neanderthal such as yourself while addressing your many, many shortcomings to the attention of the Ladies of the Pool and never lose the proper sense of decorum, thank you. Excuse me for having to point this out to you. Not saying that Mike could handle it, of course...
  8. Hubert, Played two games this weekend. One as Axis and one as Allies. I won the game as Axis and the research screen DID NOT show the enemy tech investments at the end. I lost the game as Allies and the research screen DID show the enemy tech investments. Very strange. Was this your intent? On the AI front, something needs to be done about the U.S. constantly sending transports to their doom. When the U.S. Battleships are gone they need to build something to deal with the German subs, not just sit and waste points trying to get an army to England. And I think you need to tweak the code a bit to prevent Italy from conquering Russia. I had to laugh when Germany got screwed by a Italian Corp jumping into the last Russian capital. Even the computer didn't know what to do with 5000 MPP's as the Italians. After that the Germans couldn't pull off a Sealion and I managed to hold out to the end. Still lost but I consider it a moral victory. Thanks.
  9. Oh Justicar!!! Leave Papa Kahn alone for a minute and look over here. I'll be warming up the hot coals, Sire.
  10. Agreed. You wasted your French points on research they never were going to see. You should have bought cannon fodder instead. The British are the ones who can afford to invest in research. Use the French to buy time.
  11. So the pop-up Research screen only works with fog of war off? To tell the truth I haven't played a game with FOW turned off. But what about at the end of the game? There is no reason not to be able to see it on the Reports screen. I think it would be nice if FOW turned itself off at that point and let you look around the map and see the final situation. You know, giving the pop-up Research screen a random chance of returning a result might be a nice easy way of simulating intelligence. [ August 16, 2002, 12:12 PM: Message edited by: Lars ]
  12. Put all the points in one spot till you get it up where you want it. Works better than spreading them around in dribs and drabs. Usually. I too wonder about the Research screen at the end of each turn. It doesn't seem to serve any purpose. Also at the very end of the game I'd like the Reports screen to show what the other side was investing in. Hubert?
  13. mincks, I think you need to get use to the scale. Each hex is 50 miles. You can easily punch 2 or 3 hexes behind the lines. How big of a tear did you really think the panzers went on in a weeks time?
  14. What he wants mincks, is for the AI to control the U.S./England AND the Axis while he plays the Russians.
  15. Looks like we'll be sleeping on our backs for quite some time at the Shavian House. And with one eye open...
  16. No... when his sad and pointless life comes to an end I will get him then. He can look on his time with Joe as a sneak preview</font>
  17. Gaylord, please, a spark of comprehension or somefink. Were you the poster boy for Planned Parenthood? Pillock. And I can think of no finer place for Papa Kahn than the Shavian House. Where's the hedge clippers? Dibs on the nose and ear hair. Agua, you buff the bald spot with the belt sander. We'll clean him up nice for his golf outing with you and MrSpkr, Joe.
