  1. I noticed for a 2000 pt game the points go like this: attack: 3200/2000 assult 4000/2000 probe: 2700/2000 say you didn't setup the game, how do you know what you're dealing with? for example your ladder opponent might think to himself well I'm gonna setup for an assult on you but I'm gonna tell you its a regular attack that way I have 800 extra points but you'll never know it. where is this information displayed?
  2. hello good sir, I found the website here www.tournamenthouse.com nice rating system, I'm signed up.
  3. hello deadmarsh, could you repost the web address for that webpage? My pbem record is 21-3-2 and I feel ready for a tournament or league but a new ladder will do, thank you. ------------------ I got an idea of something we can do with a gun, sink load and fire till the empire reaps what they've sown - S.

  5. hi, of my 22 PBEM games I've had 2 losses and 2 ties ehehe, because I keep track. but my 23nd game is a question mark(?) my opponent insisted I attack him in the snow with a combined force so I started to then by turn 5 no contact and 2 of 5 tanks are bogged and immobile then my opponent was joking that I'm too wussy to go over the hill and return him the file so I said WELL I SUSPECT YOU SET ME UP IN THE SNOW so my tanks would immobilize then he took GREAT offense to that and called me a sore loser anyhow my experiment: I took 31 tanks and zigzagged them around on a large snow map so as neither side made contact with each other, and left it daytime incase that matters(visibilty not seeing a hazard or something) it was 30 turns and the tanks were constantly moving using the MOVE command, not FAST or HUNT heres what happened 18 bogged in then immobilzed: 7 jumbos 4 reg. shermans 1 hellcat 3 king tigers 1 panther 1 hetzer 1 lynx 13 did not immobilize: 1 jumbo 2 hellcats 2 stuarts 2 panthers 2 hetzers 3 marders 1 lynx they all had ground pressures for 9.x to 15.x but looks like the lower pressure ones did better than the higher ones my main question is: How realistic is it for 18 of 31 tanks to immobilize in the snow during a 30 minute battle also the distance travelled to the scene comes to mind, how did any of these tanks make it to the battlefield if they immobilize so often while moving in snow? and to my opponent, I shouldn't have jumped to a conclusion because later I found out that you are honest, so I am either paranoid or a sore loser and owe you the win BUT I feel this game was made for two forces to go against each other in such a way so that either side has a 50/50 chance of winning, if not then one can use the handicap setting, which I know my opponent doesn't need because he is a regular member to this board ehehe and very good.
  6. well I have to defend the pg series, pgI was fun, pgII was awesome on tcp/ip, at first it was really buggy but when they moved to mplayer it was great, I must have played the 4 player scenario flagB hundreds of times, I agree with kingtiger that its like chess, but thats great, what pgII had that was cool is leagues, which I don't see any for CM which disappoints me, but maybe these won't be practical until tcp/ip play? also pgII had 3 and 4 player scens, and team player tournaments, as cool as CM is the ladders are just boring... these are my thoughts. are there gonna be any leagues once tcp/ip comes out, if so could I get on the roster, I'm 15-1-1 in pbem play.
  7. I found out about CM from www.bluesnews.com which had posted the www.gamespot.com CM review during the first week or two of July 2000.
  8. hey Malmvig and Mortiis, how do we combat the situation?

  11. I want to address a few issues, some of which have already been brought up, I like a fair fight which is why I like choose your own force quick battles, packaged scens, and balanced user made scens I am pretty competitive and I don't trust anyone, because people aren't honest(unless you're cuban or chinese), which is why it disturbs me that player #2 can not view the parameters before accepting the battle or choosing forces or viewing the map, for examples, I've played a guy who set up a qb scen at dawn and with fog, had I known I wouldn't have bought the heavymachine guns and other long range units, another example, my opponent created a map and told me to defend, but he arrainged 5 small victory hexes spread across the map in a straight line extending to either edge I found that very hard to defend, it guarenteed that I would have to make a counter attack at some point unless I wanted to split my forces into a couple small, weak groups but all this is fine, what really disturbs me, as I usually let my opponent set up the game, is the handcap setting how is player #2 supposed to know what this is set at? other games I've played make this information available to both sides I played a meeting engagement in which I was the allies and my opponent was the axis, I spent the max amount of points on infantry, during the battle I found out that we each had 3 infantry platoons, but I noticed that while all my units were regular, all his were veteran, this led me to suspect he had more points to spend than I did? btw I'm not complaining because I'm no good at the game, I am undefeated in pbem with a 7-0 record against various board members, and I finish all my games please tell me I'm a fool if I'm missing something and I need more opponents jwaltn@earthlink.net
  12. Mirage2k, thats something I don't hear every day, it's news to me IMHO aslong as the united states is down with O.P.P.(other peoples problems) we're gonna eventually get nuked pretty bad
  13. ehehe, I think hex lines would only make sense if cm had a hex based rather than grid based engine anyway very funny screenshot!
