when unzipping downloaded scenarios why do i often get .cmbd and have to delete the'd'. is there a way of stopping this cos i always forget and have to quit CM, delete, and start up again , which is a pain. any ideas

i thought i'd take a moment to advertise my new battle on the CMHQ site. its called "I Love This War" and is a good challenge for the allies. i feel a bit cheeky doing this but i'd like people to play it. have fun

like i say ihad my spotter hidden and my HQ spotting for my spotter. i do not mean cheating on purpose but it seems as tho it knows im firing like i was shooting a rifle or something. like i say i think im putting in too many CM hours

Immobile and your scuppered, but i have had success with bogged vehicles by ramming them with another tank. rather tank bulldozer than tractor but its better than an unnecessary pillbox on your hands

i dont know if this is true in CM and i hope a more CM educated person can answer. it may have been the case that the KTiger had spotted the sherman and altho your J had LOS he hadnt actually seen it. this would be realistic and appears to have happened to me b4. is this th case or if one unit spots a target and a second unit has LOS does the second unit automatically know its there...any ideas

One thing that has bugged me in a few recent QBs is that the computer has some sort of telepathy with my spotters. yesterday i had a group of 5 Tiger? bombarding me from across the map. i spent 3 turns getting a arty spotters HQ in position to lay some 25lb smack on them while not letting them see spotter. 30 seconds later 5 Tiger?s moved 80m to the left , stopped and then hit me from there. they then did it again when i redirected. this has happened to me before and there was still 2mins left so no spotting round had arrived. so, can the AI see this or am i playing this game so much im going mad-this is definitely happening anyway

i just finished a small QB the highlight of which was a head-on clash between my Sherman and a Nashorn. after a couple of minutes they finally hit eachother thru the fog (like that new random weather) and both got gun hits. my hit on the Nasher didnt report any damage but he never fired again(2 more mins)- did i not get a damage report because of the fog or were they really shocked for that long by the hit (there were no casualties as the whole crew bailed out later). My sherman was damaged however and also never fired again, but i could still target the nashorn and it said kill chance excellent, does this mean repair work was going on or did it just refer to the shermans ability with a working gun

The hetzer comes out on top for me as it should for all CC2 players. short and thin makes it very hard to hit and if you manage it in CM your shells just ping off that damn slopey front. plus the new mad dog snow cammo makes it look cool too ------------------ Never trust a rabbit. what i want to know is that if some of the star wars radar relay stations are going to be based in england, then do we get the protection aswell.

i thought the AI never flanked till this afternoon. made a QB (nighttime germans assaulting a village) the first thing was a panther charged into my front( very odd i thought as it turned out to be its only tank + it went straight over a daisy chain(can it not see these at night i would like to know)) after knocking this out i thort i could take anything. as the AI never flanks my frontal defense was 'ard .suddenly i had 6 halftracks on each side +armoured cars , cos it was dark i hadnt seen them and their smokescreen at my front had been a feint. i never underestimate the AI now as it got a big wahoo from me. very clever game guys

like i said , a bit more concentration would have helped but i certainly would not have halted a unit next to a pile of shot up guys. especially as most would only be injured and screaming "dont sit here or you'll get munched"

sorry. as i said this is not a scenario specific comment i just used an example (which was wrong) to show the problem

also i mean problems like this in the whole can not just that scenario.......

this is probably one of the toughest set scenarios to keep track. that will not spoil your playing it i am sure as it is also one of the best

i understand the reasons for only having one dead guy appear when a unit is wiped out but sometims it bugs me. eg in the nijmegen scenario with all the boats i had my river crossing guys attacking the first wooden bunker and also an MG42 in the small building nearby. i noticed my guys nearest the small house had taken alot of casualties and moved some men up to give cover from about 30m behind them. it turned out that my front guys had gone past the MG crossfire point and my now covering men were under the fire which had killed all the men in the first place. i know your gonna say i should have payed more attention at the time but some sort of death markers as in CC would have prevented the destruction of my my brave guys. has anyone else had problems like this???????????

Germanboy- i live in a little village just outside loughborough. mydad runs his design business from home so i use his G4 for CM. going to uni soon though.....maybe he'll let me keep it.........doh!!!!!

Mac user and proud esp when i can get a game like this on it. found my CC tactics were a bit ropey when put to the CM test though, esp with infantry

im just wondering who are the members and why junior members are just that. are the members people involved in the game creation.....just wondering thats all. FAB GAME by the way guys . i never play CC2 anymore
