  1. Its all perspective! The UK is not ****, im sorry but to say that is wrong. How can anyone say that about a country on a discussion board knowing that other Brits are reading it! Its not right. Guess what buddy, I lived in the states and moved to Canada, because I didnt like it over there! Just because I don't like the American system even a little bit doesnt mean that their country is ****, its just not right for me. I like Canada, I enjoy the states to visit, but I would never insult openly America. If you are moving to the states, ok, but don't make fun of the country you are leaving because just because you think it is bad doesnt mean other people do...
  2. I have to agee, I would like some Mods For Each of the PZ IV models in the game {IVG, IVJ ECT..} They all look sort of the same in MDMP 2. They look good in MDMP 2 but I would like to see some different textures of each mark of the IV. Thanks, And if you don't do it, its alright! Smack
  3. Its good to see that you still play the game Matt. The good thing about you is that your really enthusiastic about this game, and it spreads. It's nice to see someone who likes his job!

  6. Nice name Master Bates.....And I think he was kidding...
  7. Read war of the rats, it is excellent. It is wonderfully descriptive. BTW the German SS colonel replaces his rifle because the Russian one is better then the German one. It is explained in the book. Trust me it is a great book!
  8. oops going on.. Pistol Rifle SMG LMG HMG Inf AT weapon and a neat explanation for each.. Mine is.. Rifle----Lee Enfield because it was the best bolt-action rifle in the world. pistol----Colt .45 because it is better then a webley and carries more rounds LMG----at a section level, the Bren Gun and at a platoon level the MG 42 {for basic suppresion!} HMG---MG-42...Do I even have to explain SMG---The Russian "PP" {thats what I call it" because it works great in all weather and carries a respectable amount of Ammo. Inf AT WEAPON-----Panzershreck because it was good against all armour....not like the American Bazooka and British PIAT. My army would be organized into small divisions {two brigades} each to make movement easier. But I would keep Infantry and Armoured divisions seperate... Sorry about the spelling errors or lack of basic punctuation I was typing this really fast
  9. If you could make your own army in WW2 what weapons would you issue them? They have to be common in WW2 Rifle {excluding MP-44)
  10. I didnt like it, It was just wierd. But it doesn't mean you wont, so try it out. For really great wargaming though, play Combat Mission!
  11. The Fourth Canadian Armoured Division was a green division and had doubtful leadership, but I will come to its defense. In Normandy it was shot to pieces {as with all other Canadian/British divisions} because of poor command and weaponry. The men within that division though, even after suffering enormous casualties, never faultered. the pressed on with thier "tommy cookers" and did thier job well after the Normandy campaign. You must remember, fighting the SS with superiour tactics and Weapons {emphisis on weapons} as your first battle experiance makes for a rather brutal training ground. As for the Normandy campaign as a whole, the Brits and Canadians faced 7.5 of all the panzer divisions {1 and 2 SS panzer corps} and half of all the other infantry divisons on thier front and all the heavy tank battalions. No one should ever blame the Brits/Canadians for going slow at Failaise. General Bradly oudviously hadnt realized that after fighting against such numbers of fantatical troops and tanks that thier was nothing left of most of the Canadian and British divisions. The Canadians we shattered taking Capiquet {spelling way off} airfield and Verriers ridge and the intial advance to Falaise showed that no combat Canadian infantry company fielded more than 30 men out of 120! The British armour was shattered trying to take Cean and operation goodwood and Jupiter didnt help them much either. What I am trying to convey is that what choice did monty have other than to use the Freshest divisions possible....The Fourth Canadian armoured division and the 1st polish armoured division. Monty was trying not to take anymore infantry casualties, because he knew that the manpower barrel was getting low. If you read "the guns of Normandy" by Goerge Blackburn {who was an artillery officer for the 2nd infantry division} and read the introduction, in his words he says "It was amazing we got there at all". I think the Failaise gap battle for the Canadians should be and normally is regarded as a victory. The SEVERLY weakened Canadian infantry {who had been fighting SS panzer divisions! And most battalions had been shattered by either attacks or counter attacks with the Germans using King Tiger, Tiger and Panther tanks} and green armoured divisions {with poor equipment.} Managed to pick up thier weapons and finally defeat the SS in Normandy. In my opinion it is amazing that the average soldier who knew that the Germans had better tanks and machine guns didnt desert or run, but made his way to Failaise. The sad thing is that people say that the Canadians went to slow at Falaise, after what they had been through with over-advancing and getting counterattacked with heavy tanks and PZ grenadiers, they had a right to be cautious. General Bradly's remarks were both unfounded and he should have had more respect. For as his forces were breaking out in early Augest '44 the Canadians were still involved fighting the 2 SS panzer divisions in front of Verriers keeping them and the other PZ divisions locked on the British and Canadian front, so the Americans could brake out after the Hedgerow campaign. Monty's "unrealisic faith" had givin the Americans thier brakeout, and tied down the German armour. Canadians died in that campaign in a very un-glamourous role. and at the end of it all one American who was oudviously ignorant to the massive casualties they British and Canadians had been going through says...."well werent they slow". What im saying is that, since history cant be changed, what happened at Failaise was a victory. It took alot of Mental and Physical courage to go up against better tanks and tactics, which the average Canadian soldier knew was out there. The Canadians couldnt go any faster with the numbers alloted to them.
  12. Canadian forces, then Brits, Poles,....Never really play as American. I like to play as the Germans, but not near as often as the Canadians
  13. It takes about 2-3 weeks to get to Canada, it took my copy about three weeks.
  14. Mr Aitkin I did read your post, I did not take it personnaly at all. I hope you did not take mine personnally either . My main aim was to just say why I was posting the question, I wanted clarification on what was bieng said, I got it. BTW I also wanted this thread to be closed during my very first post. I once again say close the thread, It was pointless after Fionn's response, the question was answered, no need to post anymore. And I don't beleive there is any harm of asking a neutral question after an argument and then asking it to be locked up after the question is answered as I had originally asked... Thank you
  15. I was asking a simple question because I didnt really know what a roster was! I was hoping that this would not start an argument and if it did I said sorry to be a bother, David Aitkin I said specifically I did not want to start a fight! I am sorry for not entirely understanding the posts about the roster wars, I asked a question and it got answered. Other people came in here and began to fight again. I went so far as to ask BTS to lock the thread so it wouldnt start a fight after it was answered. So Mr Aitkin you know that I did not want and tried very hard to prevent more fighting on this subject, next time I can't understand what somethings about during an argument that has been locked I will post. WHY? Because I am not making a comment or siding from pro-Roster to Anti-Roster I am just merely stating a nuetral question. It shouldnt have started an argument, but it did, thats not my fault. next time please read my post! You would have seen that I was very careful about not siding with anyone and was very careful not to start a fight. It was very politly answered by Fionn, thats all I wanted. Thank you p.s- I did not mean to insult anyone during this post, especially Mr Aitkin. I just don't understand how a simple question on what a roster is could cause this much problems. Its childish in my opinion....BTW Im still Neutral!
  16. Hello, I have a rather simple question. I know alot of info on ww2, but as I was designing a scenario I found that this was my most common problem! Which tanks were more common on the British and Canadian side, Sherman II's III's or V's, and what firefly (1 firefly for every 4 shermans?) mark was most common. Thank you for any advice as it would make my scenario a little more realistic!
  17. what is a roster? An OOB of things you have on the map? I have no clue what was bieng talked about on that locked thread!! Just explain what it is, Then ill be able to better form my own opinion on the locked thread! Thanks alot p.s Lock this up after answer, I don't want to start a fight! If it does, sorry to be a bother BTS. BTW I was reading this forum in september onwards(I lurked), and I still think it is a good forum.
  18. I played against the Polish and was defending a town, I lost. Poles came at me with two seperate attacks, I had no chance because all I had was 3 Stugs, 1 20mm halftrack and 1 platoon of SS infantry....They had about 4 platoons of infantry and 2 sherman iii's.. p.s The Canadian forces are cool in CM!!
  19. I got trounced twice yesterday, both times defending! AI Pushed me back from one patch of forest to the other, my other flank got ripped open by a panther and 170mm arty fire! AI infantry stormed in and I was pushed to a small corner of the map where I surrendered my forces... Another time the AI's infantry was charging across a road into my patch of scatttered trees, it was a bloody and see-saw fight. Then I saw the AI's tanks go around my little defensive pocket and get up on the sides and rear. They shot down on my infantry and the enemy took the position. My counterstroke with 2 infantry platoons in half-tracks supported by a Sexton retook the position.....A Great fight....The AI is so fun to play in this game!!!
  20. Canada here! give me 10 Tigers over one Sherman any day!

  24. Since I fuigured out that my old piece of crap graphics card is a ATI Rage Pro and can't transparent smoke and fog (but can see transparent buildings...) I decided to buy a reletively up to date card to see fog and other such things. Upon shopping around I found to cards at the same price! Excellent I thought...my Glee was shortlived...Which one should I buy, A Riva or a Guillemot, Both featuring TNT 2 ----I was thinking of getting the Guillemot..here is the specs! Couger Video ED....No clue what that is! 32 MB.......is that good? Featuring TNT 2! M64 TM....not entirly sure what that is! 3x4x AGP 2d/3d acceleration 128 bit 3D processer!
