  1. Spook, 10-4 there good buddy. Didn't mean to misinterperate my interpretation... wait, I mean I didn't interpolate... wait, no.. you misinter.. ah hell never mind. This board sometimes is just like talking to my wife. No matter how well intended a statment is its bound to be confused (and twisted and used against you till you die). GreasyPig Spook I knew you werent heading down that path.
  2. I got a question. Please I would like help on this. One of the biggest fustrations I have with Steel Panthers is when I force a crew to bail out of their tank or abandon their gun implacements it wont allow me to continue to pound the equipment. In that game you can bet the crews will attempt to re-man after they calm down. In VOT I had finally routed that gun crew in the south. But noticed that after they recovered their composier they made what appeared as an attempt to re-man the weapon. I tried with my sherman to target the gun to "PUT IT OUT" but it only allowed my to area target. Luckly I repinned the gun crew with a squad. Can you actually target abandoned equipment in CM to destroy it and prevent it being re-manned??? GreasyPig
  3. Was the book "Soldat" any good? it was the memoirs of a German soldier. GP
  4. Spook, No offense ment here but: "Aside from the fun & jest, it really gets harder & harder to pin down a definition of "God", especially as we in all humanity are more prone to assume approaching god-status in our evolution this past century." I couldn't disagree more. We were swinging from trees not that long ago. Though my ego has delusions of grandeur as my WB will attest I still know my limitations. The closer and closer to a GOD that you feel probably means the further and further from the PATH you are. Man I feel like my Pastor! I suppose the day that I can MENTALY turn up the TV and mute my wife from my lazy-boy will be the day I'll rethink your comment. GreasyPig "yes, Honey your right again, We should turn the computer room into your sowing/craft room."
  5. Steve, One other thing, if she ever refuses to feed you (mine has!) heres a tip. Head to your local gas station and ask for any of their old dounuts (there should be plenty, I mean there can't be that many folks who actually buy em, there always there, ALL DAY). Normally after 4:00pm they should just give em to ya. A good old crusty bear-claw and a bismark have the same nutritional value as a side of pork, with twice the calories!!!! A guy can live with just that for a LONG time. GreasyPig Im an animal. I do simple, predictable, and stupid things.
  6. Steve, My greatest grand-daddy of em all gave up one of his ribs for his W.B. and look where it got him. KICKED OUT OF EDEN!! So take it from experience!! GreasyPig PS I REALLY do appreciate the leeway youve given me and I do like this board. Its the people here that make it great! Yaken bout the things that make life a little richer.
  7. Shut up. You aint lucky. Your just smarter than me. Feel secure in the knowledge you don't have to put up with your own "Wonder Bitch". Yes Honey, I WONDER why I didn't think of that. Yes Honey, I WONDER why Im such a lazy good for nuthin. Yes Honey I WONDER why you even married me. Oh, and Yes Honey I WONDER how in the hell I got along with out you all those years before I met you. Yep.... Wonder Bitch Heres somethin to chew on.... GOD is a BACHELOR !!!! Yep thats right!! If God is all knowing, most wonderful, SUPREME being, why aint he married?????? HUH??? I'll tell you why in two words...... WONDER BITCH GreasyPig half lit
  8. As I under stand the 4" tires were quite popular for a reason. Engine torq of those old trucks were quite low and the narrow tires allowed them to sink into the mire and find more "firm" footing underneath (within reason). However I understand they were useless on ice. This is not to mention that rubber was as good as gold in those days and 4" allowed many more tires to be produced. Not argueing your point though GreasyPig [This message has been edited by GreasyPig (edited 06-23-2000).]
  9. Man I hope it was swallows. Thats the bird of love you know.. GP
  10. Man, Lorak you got the hammer. Though I don't agree with either of you (though who cares what I think, my wife certainly doesn't) I have to give Joe the win in this bout by 2 to 1 points. Lorak: point 1: Yes, ..I.. believe there are more important things in life than a game. Over all this point should trump all others BUT.. I am tired of hearing that as its too pointedly true (and used way too often). Joe: point 1: Evidently this game is the most important thing to Joe "right now". Otherwise why would any one care to order a game 1-2yrs in advance and tie up moneys he could have spent on his kids college, or beer, or his kids beer at college, visit this BBS daily, and go to bed with visions of BARs, Shermans, and Panzershrieks dancing in his head. point 2: Hes 50! Hes over half way done and has a lot less time to play than you. It aint any wonder why hes in such a hurry! God Im a prick! GreasyPig P.S. Boys, This message is ment ALL in fun. Why do I feel like I need to explain that????? Anyway I aint got it either. Im mad, mad at myself for caring so damn much.
  11. I got a few beers in me now. I tell ya, if I aint got it by tommarrow Im gonna have to buy Shogun to get me by till it does come. Or play golf. Any one up for a game?? Ill bring the beer. GP
  12. SonOfaGun no CM. Shoulda played golf today as I was worthless at my job GP
  13. Aint been home to check the mail, tried the PO this morn but it seems mail don't make it to the east desert till noon or so. Im having a hell of a time getting getting work done here. I have to release a new microcontroller this week and my mind just aint with it. Childish and silly I know. I think my kid handled waiting for her Barbie box better than me. I was great seeing her finally get it! GP
  14. aikidorat, let me know if you got it at lunch today! I have hope. Maybe they come in waves. Panzer Grenadier, Those A10s had my poor old ford dead to rights that day. But Ida givin em a good kick in the ass with my Browning Citori (ya right). GreasyPig Reckon we'll get a monsoon today?
  15. I honoestly didn't take offense in his "dirty GI" comment. Maybe he is just absorbed in the game. Thats what its for right? If I ever say "filthy kraut" I assure you its with the utmost respect and admiration I have for the capabilities of the German soldier. The wacky little schnitzel peddlers that they are. GreasyPig
  16. I heard that an arty barrage in a wooded area could be just as nasty if not more so than in the open. Something about rounds impacting the trees and creating even more shrapnel. Of coarse this extra shrapnel effected mostly soft targets (which is what were talking about here). Also the trees could cause an "air burst" and possibly more damage. I can't remeber where I read this. But I do remember it was of WWI era. Im definitely NOT saying to avoid trees as they provide cover from detection but wonder if spotted troops in trees should receive any "cover" bonus. GreasyPig Talking out of A$$ I recall an account of an arty barrage of WWI in a forested area. I
  17. Brach, Patton no.. Interesting, tell me more GreasyPig PS I knew damn well where I was but can't say the same about the Airforce.
  18. Dang Chris, I would have thought you to have it by now. Chandler/Awatuki(sp) aint that damn far from Phoenix. I now have little hope it will be in Queen Creek. I guess the good word from BTS is that ALL US customers should have it by the weekend. Not a bad day today 100 @ 25% humidity. The bad part is the air went out in my wifes car. Guess who got to drive it to work today.. its not that bad at 60mph. GreasyPig
  19. asl and the Chandler folks, I don't have it yet but the mail hadn't finished being sorted so I'm hopful. I didn't want to bring this up but asl did, I only ordered mine a couple weeks ago as well. I aint bitching, I certainly don't have any right to and I don't deserve the product before any of you preorders (even you goofy Europeans ) But even so I keep looking. Bratch, Yuma isn't even considered in the continental US... Oh wait thats Gila Bend. Never mind why don't see if you can get one of those A-10 boys to express your package. I always see em flying round when I out there hunting. A couple of bastards even lined up on me and my truck for what I could only assume was a mock attack run. They weren't 100' over head when the flew past. Really pissed off the dog! GreasyPig Phoenix and Peroria have theirs, hopefully USPS is making its way south and east and really, really, really SW for Bratch.
  20. I too can not wait for CMII (even though I don't have CMI yet!). As much as I'm interested in the western front and how the battles there were intense I know the Russian front was incredible. I mean this the German army prior to and at its peek. The Battles and map in CM2 need to be BIG to account for all the long range tank duels! GreasyPig quote from an old wise man Flounder: "OH BOY IS THIS GREAT!"
