Polish scenerio, what do you think, listen.
Formerly Babra replied to a topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
The poles had some captured German tanks during the uprising. Panthers and Hetzers if memory serves. ------------------ It's a mother-beautiful bridge and it's gonna be THERE. -
Medals needed (for this squad anyway)

Ay carumba! That's quite a tally. I've had some good ones, but nothing close to that. ------------------ It's a mother-beautiful bridge and it's gonna be THERE. -

Up Guards and at 'em! ------------------ It's a mother-beautiful bridge and it's gonna be THERE. -
I've had this anomaly occur often enough to mention it now, even with the 1.03 patch. Frequently, my tanks will let loose a burst from the bow MG at an enemy AFV (often at quite close range), while the main armament fails to acquire the target and remains unengaged for many crucial seconds. Is there no "communication" between the crew of an AFV? ------------------ It's a mother-beautiful bridge and it's gonna be THERE.

News update on me CM web page!(Sun)

How about adding a short description so we know what the scenarios are about? The names aren't very descriptive. ------------------ It's a mother-beautiful bridge and it's gonna be THERE. -
err... von Lucke, why not? Just save the turn before advancing it and send it to your compadre. Piece of cake. ------------------ It's a mother-beautiful bridge and it's gonna be THERE.

OT: Best modern AFV ?

quote:
Originally posted by Sergei: I think in European theater some six T-72's...can beat one Merkava by out-manoeuvring it

Interesting. Lebanon is not a desert country though -- it is forested, with narrow, twisting roads, not unlike Europe. And I saw all sorts of Syrian T-72s and T-62s burning brightly there. ------------------ It's a mother-beautiful bridge and it's gonna be THERE. -
Flammpanzer 38(t) is included as well as a halftracked flamethrower, but they don't compare to the Crocodiles. ------------------ It's a mother-beautiful bridge and it's gonna be THERE.

AMERICANS ARE FAR SUPERIOR
Formerly Babra replied to mscano's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
Everyone repeat after me: "I will maintain a sense of humour" "I will maintain a sense of humour" "Babra is far superior..." ------------------ It's a mother-beautiful bridge and it's gonna be THERE. -
Anyone got any map images of Carpiquet, particularly the south side of town and north side of the airfield? ------------------ It's a mother-beautiful bridge and it's gonna be THERE.

Fionn, was the Jumbo so common that one would realistically see eight of them in the same place at the same time? I was under the impression they were rarer than fireflies. ------------------ It's a mother-beautiful bridge and it's gonna be THERE.

AMERICANS ARE FAR SUPERIOR
Formerly Babra replied to mscano's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
I don't mind them bein' superior as long as they're far. (you know I'm kidding, right? I mean, you know that...) ------------------ It's a mother-beautiful bridge and it's gonna be THERE. -

MG 42 does indeed have a sewing machine sound from a distance. It's the '88 in flight (or any other large supersonic round) which sounds like ripping fabric though. ------------------ It's a mother-beautiful bridge and it's gonna be THERE.

Villers-Bocage and 1.03 patch-SPOILERS
Formerly Babra replied to Henri's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Hehe... that's one scenario I'll never tire of. My Wittman Mk 1.03 DID gun down a few crews, but there were no threatening targets about at the time, so no harm done. ------------------ It's a mother-beautiful bridge and it's gonna be THERE. -
Same answer for all the same reasons plus: Flame tanks with a 75mm main armament. The thrill of hunting the big cats. ------------------ It's a mother-beautiful bridge and it's gonna be THERE.

A useful book for all CM players...
Formerly Babra replied to Reckall's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
I had this argument before. I believe it was with Fionn (before whose untapped depths of arcane lore I bow ) It seems the 31 50mm armed variants were never produced. The source of that bit of mis-info is von Senger und Etterlin and a number of others (including myself) have propogated the myth. ------------------ It's a mother-beautiful bridge and it's gonna be THERE. -
Is the crew more important than the tank
Formerly Babra replied to ntg84's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
Well, a couple of points come up here. 1) Your Pz IVj may not have seen the Sherman that whacked it, but did see the crew. 2) Yes, historically at least, the crew was far more important than the machine. A tank can be built far quicker (and with less cost) than properly training a crew. But my guess is that number one applies here. ------------------ It's a mother-beautiful bridge and it's gonna be THERE. -
