  1. Finally got it to work but its slower than Germany. sigh
  2. Tried it but after waiting 30 seconds, all I seem to get is popup ads.
  3. I think his ability to jump into the future helped with the successful download. Us regular sods restricted to the normal space time continuum have to suffer. Chris
  4. Unless the American one gets fixed, go with the German one (corruption issues)
  5. It certainly is ironic. Where abouts in Ontario do you hail from, if I may be so nosy?
  6. Perhaps this is all part of simulating the initial force advantage the Germans had in Normandy? Chris
  7. Is mental cruelty a requisite hobby for Beta Testers? Chris
  8. Aldaros, I was downloading from the US site as well and enjoying the speed and seeing it at 67% when I started to read it was corrupted. Now I'm hours away from download being completed via Germany. Chris
  9. I suspect us North Americans are going to have to suffer for a while. Too bad the US site is corrupt since I was getting 10x the speed. Chris
  10. Started to download at the US site but based on feedback that is corrupt so cancelled. Now downloading from Germany but only at 50 kb/s grrr. Chris
  11. Just got back from working on that report and now am happily downloading the demo
  12. Hi Tom, Not sure if you remember me from back in the original CMBO release days? (1st in the GTA with mail delivery and talk of a disk rendezvous). Hope all is well Chris
  13. Sixkiller probably should temporarily change his nick to Catbert or somefink like that. He is enjoying toying with us far too much. I know, I should be working on the report, but isn't lack of self-control a common trait of those posting here?
  14. I think I'll go work on a report rather than continually refreshing. At least that way I'm doing something useful and have more time to play later. Chris P.S. Leaving the thread should guarantee the demo is released based on my skill at choosing the correct highway lane or cashier line.
  15. Congrats to Battlefront for reaching this important milestone. Thank you Steve and the rest of the Battlefront crew for staying online all these years and putting up with us; I'm sure it has contributed to the loyalty of your customer base. I look forward to spending many hours enjoying this game as I have your other offerings. Chris
  16. Page 191 graphic for sIG 33 gun lists ammo as 75 mm while graphics on page 192 for 5 cm Pak 38 shows it as 150 mm and 7.5 cm Pak 40 lists HEAT as 150 mm Chris
  17. Across the Rhine was a game I was going to get but the reviews were not very favourable. Not an land based warfare simulation, but another old Microprose game I thoroughly enjoyed, having read the novel, was Red Storm Rising. First game I remember that had a dynamic campaign. Chris
  18. Let me begin by saying that hand crafted maps will almost always be better than the auto-generated ones. I see from the 2nd video AAR, that the quick battle maps are divided into the type of map with regards to terrain and size. As a future patch, and possible compromise, would it be possible to have a pseudo random map? What I mean by this is that the user selects map size, terrain etc from an interface and then the computer will randomly select from the pre-created maps one that meets those criteria. This might be a possible solution to those folks like dkchapuis who desire random maps. Chris
  19. Speaking of Operational games, how many people played Atomic Games' "V for Victory" series?
  20. When I heard about Space Lobsters, I imagined the spiritual successor to the tactical side of X-Com.
  21. Arrogant Worms: I remember the first time I heard them on the radio. It was "Carrot Juice Is Murder" and "Last Saskatchewan Pirate". Definitely a fun group. Chris
