  1. never mind. I found the note stating that old saves will not be usable after the patch
  2. I backed up my "Player 1" folder. just in case the patch killed it but it was still there after the patch . However, the CONTINUE button is grayed out and all I can see to do is start again. How can I continue the campaign I was in prior to the patch? Thanks Robert
  3. That was well done Slapaho, how about phase two!
  4. what does it take to trigger the third wave of reenforcements? after taking the hill My troupes and tanks get hammered by an overwelming number of geman tanks. Ive tried abandoning the hill to wait for reenforcements but they never come.
  5. Why not just add a disclaimer to the end of the mission. "bla bla bla you probably cant beat this mission bla bla life is hard bla bla bla, go to the next lesson"
  6. And I was going to ask the same question as well!
  7. I just read about that battle WWII Magazine. I came online to find more info. This is a nice surprise, Ill order the hardbound today. Cash is ok for once and this looks like a worthy effort!
  8. "Latin", aint that the stuff they say in church?
  9. Wow, a lot accurate, and well prose statements in here. I’m going to print them on nice paper and put them on the wall around my office! Just like when the Navy started pushing Deming’s Law, many upwardly mobile officers and senior enlisted folks used to put quotes of what we called “Deming ****’ around their spaces. Of course there is no comparison between Deming **** and the "thoughts to fight by" I find here. They will love this around the office: “Remember even a clock that is stopped is right twice a day.” “Remember, you don't have to think allot you just have to think well.” But the more tactically focused statements will get the most attention: o [ January 17, 2003, 04:12 PM: Message edited by: Hammer ]
  10. Set me strait on the number after the slash (L/##) - 75mm L/70, I read somewhere that its a length multiplier, but I was looking for something else and breezed past it. Now I cant remember where I saw it. Hmm, what was I talking about anyway? oh yes, the ammo thing. Well if someone could help me out, and even better, point me to a good reference, life would be grand!
  11. Yeah, it's interesting how loosing PBEM can cause your perspective to narrow, vision to blur and your fingers to type things you normaly wouldent say. I had a close (5 year) gaming friend get indignant with me and actualy wanted me to back up a few turns and replay until I sent him a series of screen shots clearing up the who got killed question. After seeing the screenshots he said he could see the kill in his replays. We are still friends! It just goes to show how your view gets distorted when you plan gets pooped on! 12. thanks, both of you S! Ill email Matt with the order numbers tonight, when I get home
  13. I accidentally placed a double order for CMBB. What happened is after I filled out the order and continued, the confirmation showed a comma in one of the blank fields. Not realizing that this was confirmation of my order and not a screen for me to confirm my selections I hit the back button to look for an error on my part. Seeing that all intentionally blank fields were actually blank I continued to the confirmation page where I realized that I had now placed two orders. Sure enough I received two confirmation emails. I sent an email to sales requesting help with the matter and have not received a response. This took place Monday morning. Any one have a phone number to someone in customer service or sales?
  14. Playing a MP operation and when we start the second battle setup, in addition to the front line (red) the are blue boxes, in some places, across the front line for me. what are these? no mans land? Ive seen these befor, but never paid much attention Tanks
  15. Im not sure, Ill play thgem back and see, thanks
  16. In a PBEM game my opponent and I saw different out comes. I had two greyhounds moving by bounding over watch. I saw one get killed by a Hetzer (the one that was currently watching), the other killed the Hetzer, and I ran it in behind some woods to avoid a flanking PZR IV. My opponent saw the PZIV kill the Greyhound that killed the Hetzer. My opponent became irate because in the next turn, that I sent back, he saw the greyhound that he says he just killed, run behind the trees and kill another one of his tanks. Now, what I saw was my greyhound run behind the trees but it didn’t kill the new tank but a Sherman killed it that was also providing over watch from a longer distance. It looks like point wise we saw the same thing but in presentation we saw different things; in one case different units of the same class died and in another case a tank was killed by a different units I’ve never seen this in CM until now.
  17. Sorry But on the positive side you could start the "Non-Military Gaming Group" then challenge us to a duel! But seriously its not intended to alienate anyone. Its probably not the best practice to make invitational posts on a forum where everybody who reads the posts isnt allowed the choice... Ill bring that up within the group.
  18. I have just to words to say - WOW! oh wait, thats only one word
  19. Speaking of C-5s, what a monster! I used to be stationed in Norfolk Va on the USS Hammerhead. The submarine pier was right under the landing path for the NAS there. The Air Force used to fly those things in there, right over us. I can vividly remember standing topside watch and those babys flying right over REAL SLOW, REAL LOW, ****ing sideways and I just new it was going land on the pier. Oh and did I mention I felt real small!!!!!!!!!!, standing there with an unloaded .45
  20. Thanks to both you guys for taking the watch! Salute!!!!! Your both welcome to join up anyway. Most of our guys are active duty and have to vanish for long periods. [ May 29, 2002, 07:23 PM: Message edited by: Hammer ]
