Russian AA guns... my dilemma

Really - I can't imagine when you would need that. -

So you've pirated the game? -

Lassner, you are welcome to try going for multiplayer balance. My statement reflects my opinion, and and really should be read in conjunction with 'and I don't care any longer about it'. I just can't be bothered anymore. Case in point (again): I consider 'Into the East' a perfectly balanced scenario for multiplayer. If someone gets their ass handed badly, it is their mistakes, and/or general ineptitude that made it happen, not my design. That is the measure of my confidence. Now read the reviews and/or play it PBEM, and come back and comment please. -
Great mods - love them. Anyone up to doing 'hasty' winter camo? The pictures below show (German) vehicles of 6. Panzerdivision in and around Vassiljevka, during 'Winterstorm'. The two T-70 are proper whitewash Soviet tanks. 6.PD had only arrived a very short time before they were thrown into battle, so they probably had neither time nor material to do proper whitewash (there are references to HTs going into battle with no whitewash at all in the book by Scheibert).
-
Err, but they were used as indirect artillery. I posted a very nice picture of British gunners using captured 88s in that way. I know that the Germans did as well.

Aren't you the little instigator

Two possibilities Quenalin: 1) You don't have the manual, and have pirated the game. 2) You have the manual, but don't give a flying monkey's about reading it, instead wasting everybody's time.

total BS. Most if not all artillery rounds are faster than speed of sound. Only a few hollow charge and HE from stub-barrel guns might be subsonic.</font>

Thanks for the accolades. Regarding your suggestion, that is what I currently do in many scenarios. Has not worked, unfortunately. -
In Hollywood (and vets memories it seems) everything is an 88. Which is quite interesting, since the 88 and the normal artillery have quite different characteristics at the impact end - I guess not a lot of soldiers in a combat zone aspire to be grogs though. We can not - it was not done on a regular basis, but it did happen. The big problem for doing that with an 88 is barrel life, I believe. It is also more effective in DF, and the gunners would not necessarily have been trained in all the procedures for indirect fire to the same degree as the gunners on a howitzer.

Yes. I believe the position in BoB historically contained 10,5cm lFH 18 and not 88s though.

Does it mean it is balanced for single player only, or just historical without any concern for balance at all ?</font> -

All of mine are recommended single player, multiplay at your own risk and I am not interested in how you will fare. I am no longer interested in designing for multi-player balance. -
Soviet 82mm Mortar Transport Bug - correction
Andreas replied to JadamoW's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Well, the M3 (White) Scout Car was not exactly a small vehicle. The name is somewhat misleading, as the official British designation was: "Truck, 15-cwt, 4x4, armoured personnel".</font> -

251/10 HT Platoon HQ Vehicles
Andreas replied to von Lucke's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
My interpretation of this is that the platoon commander is riding the vehicle, and he would command all HTs (which are organic elements of his platoon). So there would not be a separate commander for the vehicles within the platoon. -
Barbarossa To Berlin For Sale
Andreas replied to merkava's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
I've already got one -
Paul, two questions: 1) does he compare the flotation with Ostketten and without Ostketten? 2) Does he have figures on the Panzer II?
-
Hmm, according to those figures the IV should be quite a bit better than the III, not? Unless you meant it the other way round (which one is the typo in the second sentence?). Good thread Paul!
