I don't think that we should be telling people to go to h*ll just because they want to charge for thier work though.

They still have a free section. There's too many free gaming sites to pay to read thier reviews. How many of us actually buy gaming mags now? In the past yes but today with the internet with DSL and cable you can download a demo in 5 min? Reviews are not the best way to learn about a game anymore. The demo is the clearest way of knowing if you like the game. There are so many places to get info, why pay?

Make sure you are installing to the right directory. I even use my old desktop shorcut with no problem. The executable is overwritten and since they have the same name, my old shorcut works fine.

Hear the grognards roar! Sheesh, what's important is will it be fun. Red alert was a blast in multiplayer in its time. Let's try a demo and see if it's fun. I'm sure no one is saying it is realistic.

We laugh but all I had at 13 was DC Sgt Rock comics, plastic soldiers and my daisy gun.

Has anyone noticed any bmps changed or am I loosing track of all the mods? I see roofs that have real good looking shingles. Buildings are very crisp and so are the trees. Must be a mod I downloaded.

I like that idea. You should suggest it. Although wwiionline is a strategic game with role playing elements, set piece historical battles sound good. I'm not sure they won't have that. [This message has been edited by iggi (edited 12-14-2000).]

The goal is immersion. Not like the film total recall but as close as you can get with today's tech. It's about teams and team work. It will be the first game that will make me unwrap the microphone that came with my cpu and use it . I think people might think it is impossible because they think it will be like halflife where everyone is running around in disorder. To give the game direction, I think officers should have the power to execute thier players for insubordination in the field. Of course a player couldn't frag an officer. It's about the what to do next panicky excitement. Halflife uses unrealistic physics and wwiionline will have missions as a guidline for players. How many times have I sneaked up to someone in halflife and shot him point blank with a shot gun only for him not to die? What would be very cool in wwiionline would be the ability to create a scenario like say last defense, get all the players to volunteer for the roles and to play it out 1st person. I love the massive scope. You can be a techie type and spend your time underwater in a sub, listening to sonar and reading panels, probably never seeing the players you conquer. Or join the dim witted infantry and thrill in the excitment of preparing for a daring raid under fire,(going to bed if it gets too late). Every battle we fight in CM has scores of warstories that you can roleplay in wwiionline.

Whoa, I ran accross the site by accident while surfing european history. If you notice, it is not immediately obvious what the message is. And no, history of the white race doesn't hit me right away as a racist site. It looked to me like a fascinating theory on how europe was settled from Russia. The flow of battles was interesting, from the crusades to the huns. The pic was not a fake and neither was it an offensive pic. Looking at more of the site, I can see that it steers towards negative conclusions. However I did not read all the site and it seemed like a pretty study of early european history, at least early on. To answer your question, no I do not "espouse" thier conclusions.

The best flight sim will be wwiionline. For me it's the immersion. You're fighting to support real players, your squads.

The best way is to have it as an option. I don't need one though.
