  1. If you have a floppy boot disk then boot from that, re-format your hard drive and re-install all the Windows crap and then your other stuff. If you dont have a boot floppy ask a friend WITH THE SAME WINDOWS VERSION to make you one. If you don't have a friend go back to the shop... ------------------ Dulce Et Decorum Est
  2. Yes, I've had one for a year now and it's good. No probs with it, just keep the drivers up-to-date from the Matrox site. (Earlier drivers wouldn't run Quake2 correctly/at all) , but who wants to play that anyway...? Current price is USA $180 have a look at http://www.matrox.com/mga/products/mill_g400/home.htm ...And the dual head display is really good for things like flight sims. ------------------ Dulce Et Decorum Est [This message has been edited by KiloIndiaAlpha (edited 06-15-2000).]
  3. I think most of the boats will hold 1 Captn Manieri and enough pizza for two weeks at sea. ------------------ Dulce Et Decorum Est
  4. I agree, if you have a limited budget go for a new graphics card first. Personally I have a Matrox g400 with 32 Mb ram; they're not that expensive now. See what the others say. If you have more cash then add some RAM, 128 MB is good. ------------------ Dulce Et Decorum Est
  5. Join THE Legion. I'll guarantee you will be shot at. ...In combat : you will act without relish of your tasks, or hatred ; you will respect the vanquished enemy and will never abandon neither your wounded nor your dead, nor will you under any circumstances surrender your arms. http://www.info-france-usa.org/america/embassy/legion/legion.htm Mike ------------------ Dulce Et Decorum Est
  6. Of course you can't put losing the war down to one particular event, however... Not destroying the BEF in 1940 was a major blunder. ------------------ Dulce Et Decorum Est
  7. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by Bullethead: KIA said: Damn straight. Who wrote this poem, anyway? I know I've seen it before. <HR></BLOCKQUOTE> Wilfred Owen. He also wrote this... ----- ANTHEM FOR DOOMED YOUTH What passing-bells for these who die as cattle? - Only the monstrous anger of the guns. Only the stuttering rifles' rapid rattle Can patter out their hasty orisons. No mockeries now for them; no prayers nor bells; Nor any voice of mourning save the choirs, - The shrill, demented choirs of wailing shells; And bugles calling for them from sad shires. What candles may be held to speed them all? Not in The hands of boys but in their eyes Shall shine The holy glimmers of goodbyes. The pallor of girls' brows shall be their pall; Their flowers the tenderness of patient minds, And each slow dusk a drawing-down of blinds. Wilfred Owen. ------------------ Dulce Et Decorum Est

  9. Bent double, like old beggars under sacks, Knock-kneed, coughing like hags, we cursed through sludge, Till on the haunting flares we turned our backs And towards our distant rest began to trudge. Men marched asleep. Many had lost their boots But limped on, blood-shod. All went lame; all blind; Drunk with fatigue; deaf even to the hoots Of tired, outstripped Five-Nines that dropped behind. - Gas! GAS! Quick, boys! An ecstasy of fumbling, Fitting the clumsy helmets just in time; But someone still was yelling out and stumbling, And flound'ring like a man in fire or lime . . . Dim, through the misty panes and thick green light, As under a green sea, I saw him drowning. In all my dreams, before my helpless sight, He plunges at me, guttering, choking, drowning. If in some smothering dreams you too could pace Behind the wagon that we flung him in, And watch the white eyes writhing in his face, His hanging face, like a devil's sick of sin; If you could hear, at every jolt, the blood Come gargling from the froth-corrupted lungs, Obscene as cancer, bitter as the cud Of vile, incurable sores on innocent tongues - My friend, you would not tell with such high zest To children ardent for some desperate glory, The old Lie: Dulce et decorum est Pro patria mori. ------------------ Dulce Et Decorum Est

Re-write your post to include the following corrections. 1. '... a little better at warfare' not 'a little better in warfare'. 2. 'We are really tired of bailing...' should be 'We really are tired of bailing...' ------------------ Dulce Et Decorum Est
