  1. Other thread getting a bit long - thought I'd start one map editor specific. I'd like to see more options for terrain like the following:

    -already destroyed bridges

-more destroyed building types (not just rubble)

    -small ditches

    -roadsigns

    -craters

    -burnt vehicles

    -railroad bridges

    -railroad cars

    -new building types

  2. Don't even know if it can be done, can mods be created for CM instead of modified? I am speaking of mods to be added to the texture lists to expand our choices when creating a scenario. Items would include things like railroad bridges, shell craters, various ruined buildings (instead of just rubble), etc, etc! I dunno, gliders, aircraft wreckage, actual barns, blown bridges, fuel depots, tents, etc....There may have already been a thread about this-I confess, I haven't checked. Anyone care to comment?

  3. If artillery falls in a wood and no one is around to see it will casualties still happen?

Say there is a stand of woods out there and even though I haven't SEEN any enemy troops there I want to drop a lot of artillery on it. If there are troops there will they take casualties even though I can't see it happen?

With full fog of war on I don't see its effects but I know that theoretically troops occupying that woods should be taking some hits. There have been several times when I started pummeling some potential threat just to be safe...

  4. I always been a war buff. As a kid I spent hours upon hours making intricate military models only to blow them to hell in my dad's garden! War, I think, is a boy-thing. Guys generally like competition and also like to feel like they are part of a team. Human beings in general are very teritorial and clickish - are you like me or not? (Remember the problems with other game bashing last week?) Personally, war gaming and war itself are two entirely different things...and although there are as many opinions as to why we do it we all still wonder if we would perform under those trying conditions. Men have always wanted to test themselves in this fashion - personally I think counting coup (spelling?) was a cool idea. Anyway, the simple fact is that anyone can be in a war and no one is brave and a good soldier all of the time. Most people do what they have to do in wars - regardless of the reasons they are there to begin with - and just end up trying to survive the damn thing. This is pretty much of a rant - apologies all around....

  5. Only thing that bugs me about the game is that you can see the entire map in great detail even though this is entirely unrealistic. Seems like it would be more realistic and fair if you could only explore the map from top to bottom on the ground you take possession of. I dunno, what do you think? Also, do you guys usually play with trees on or off? I usually play with them off so I can see what is going on.
