  1. What I'm looking for is last week I was looking around in the QB maps and found one I wanted to back to. I said to myself I'll have to remember that. My mind being like a steel sieve of course can't remember the name of it.  I do remember it was a pretty desolate looking map with some huge tank traps and I looked all over where I thought it was and can't find it.

Does anybody know what that one is?

  2. I'm in the process of making some scenarios and can't figure out how to purchase reinforcements.

In the Units section in the editor for both Allied and Axis it says "Not in use" and I can't make those units come as reinforcements. I looked through the Scenario Design PDF manual and it doesn't say anything there.

How do you unlock that section? What am I missing?

Also although I haven't got that far yet how do you use the AI section in the Editor? The manual doesn't address that as far as I can tell.

  3. This has been discussed on and off again since BF has been in existence.  One of the main reasons for the disparity in casualty rates is the time constraints. On the real battlefield if you are ordered to take a heavily defended village it could take most of the day and then some to take it. In the game we usually have only about 2 hours to do it so of course you have to do things that would be considered reckless in the real world.

If you made a scenario that takes 8 - 10 hours to drive the enemy out of that heavily defended village and keep your casualty rates low very few people would want to play.

Also remember, it's a game not real life.

  4. For those who want to do a RT scenario based on actual operations this would be helpful: https://pamyat-naroda.ru/ops/

You only get the Russian side and only a basic understanding of the opposing Axis forces but that information is generally more available than finding these Russian forces would have been.

You slide the timeline bar and you can go to any year and month and it will give you a list of operations that occurred at that time. When you click on the operation link you can get more details about what units were there down to at least brigade level maybe even lower. You can see the combat path on where the units were at any given time alos plus they have the actual combat/historical maps. Tons of useful info on this site.

They also have the combat logs of each unit but they are copies of the original documents and are in Russian and you can't use any type of Google translate on them.

I'll also post this in the RT section.

  6. Whether this can be an Engine 5 update or a regular update to a patch I would like a message box to pop up to display what the FO is saying (in English) when you are using artillery. It's nice to have all the different nations in their own native language but you are obviously missing some vital information if you lose LOS or if something happens that delays or cancels your arty and you don't have a clue as to what they are saying.

I always make my own assessment even when playing the AI, and I usually end up doing something different to what the briefing suggests

I've found out (usually the hard way) that following what the briefing suggests usually results in excessive casualties. Sometimes I wonder if the briefing was made by the enemy forces...😀

It's better to look at the briefing then walk around the battlefield and come up with your own plan.

This sheet is really mainly for people who play QB's against the AI, but if you're doing a PBEM or H2H of any kind and want to generate original battles for that, this will enable you to add some randomness to your forces. I will be testing the sheet over the next day or two, so if anyone is interested, I'd be happy to make it available. If anyone would like to play test it, I'd be most appreciative of any feedback. There are no macros in this so viruses will not be an issue.

I'd be interested in it and I'm sure some others would be too.  Please make it available.
