  1. Some of the aura of the 88 also stemmed from Rommel's use of antiaircraft guns as antitank weapons. "Hull down" 88s—for lack of a better term—made one hell of a mess of incoming armor and infantry. It didn't take long for word to spread. ------------------ I'm drinkin' wine, I'm eatin' cheese and catching some rays, you know. — Oddball
  2. Getting started may be daunting at first, but it's not difficult. Hey, I figured it out. 1. Get an opponent's e-mail. Exchange a courtesy e-mail to see if they are interested, which scenario, side preference, that sort of thing. Or do so on the board. Also helps to determine if your opponent is on a Mac or PC so you know how to code your attachment. 2. Start game, choose "e-mail" instead of single player or hotseat. You'll need to create a password to get into subsequent moves. 3. Do your setup and play until a black window appears that tells you to click on it and send the pbem file to your opponent. 4. e-mail the file as attachment to your opponent. wait for a pbem in return. 5. the opponent will receive the e-mail, start up game, click "load e-mail", enter his password and play until he gets the screen telling him the move is done. it's a long way to say the game pretty much does it all for you ... just play until it tells you to send the file. i'll play any scenario, any side. you can also find opponents and keep track of games at this cool site: www.pantherworks.com ------------------ I'm drinkin' wine, I'm eatin' cheese and catching some rays, you know. — Oddball [This message has been edited by Moriarty (edited 04-17-2000).]
  3. I'm liking that, von Lucke. "American Patrol" and "St. Louis Blues March" ain't too shabby neither. ------------------ I'm drinkin' wine, I'm eatin' cheese and catching some rays, you know. — Oddball
  4. I'm all for "Burning Bridges," who wouldn't be with a nickname like this. I'll also throw in "Mars" from Holst's "The Planets," for consideration. Ominous stuff, ... although theme from "Jaws" might be good for when a Tiger is lurking about. ------------------ I'm drinkin' wine, I'm eatin' cheese and catching some rays, you know. — Oddball

FOOMP! <HR></BLOCKQUOTE> Wow. You live in the Puget Sound? Zamo, old boy, I think you need a new nickname. ------------------ I'm drinkin' wine, I'm eatin' cheese and catching some rays, you know. — Oddball
  7. If you're using Navigator/Communicator the above post is correct as to location. If you're running Internet Exploder, then you'll need to scroll down the prefs to "cookies." Of course, I'm also baking up a new batch of extree special cookies to give you a warm welcome in RB. ------------------ I'm drinkin' wine, I'm eatin' cheese and catching some rays, you know. — Oddball
  8. From the movie "Kelly's Heroes" ... but you guys knew that. ------------------ I'm drinkin' wine, I'm eatin' cheese and catching some rays, you know. — Oddball

  11. Bauhaus, old boy, I'll let my M-18s deliver the answer to that. ------------------ It's a piece of junk — Moriarty
  12. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by Ol' Blood & Guts: Honestly, Moriarty. He doesn't know how to make smiles. Just look at his typing style. He sure as hell doesn't know UBB code, let alone HTML code. I just figured out the HTML code a few days ago after looking at someone elses message. <HR></BLOCKQUOTE> LOL. I was going to give him the benefit of the doubt, but you know him better than I. And, I know what you mean. Took me a long, long time to figure out how to quote messages correctly. Just stupid, I guess. ------------------ It's a piece of junk — Moriarty

  15. IMHO a smiley would've helped. ------------------ It's a piece of junk — Moriarty
  16. As I recall, some previous threads established the average age at 38.678954 years. (or thereabouts). ------------------ It's a piece of junk — Moriarty
  17. I'll be out of town Tuesday and Wednesday. I'll be back for my thrashings Thursday night. Oops, I nearly left out Das Boot. My apologies for inadvertantly omitting you from the title. ------------------ It's a piece of junk — Moriarty [This message has been edited by Moriarty (edited 03-28-2000).]
  18. I stand corrected on giving "move" order to bogged vehicle. Sometimes they do get free, sometimes they don't. I also have tried to shove an immobile M4 to a better firing position in RB, but the AI wouldn't allow such a maneuver, which is too bad. ------------------ It's a piece of junk — Moriarty
  19. I'm not in any position of authority, but some players have unbogged armor by keeping it under orders to move. Every turn, give it an order to move. It may take a few turns, but sometimes they'll pull out. Hope that helps. ------------------ It's a piece of junk — Moriarty [This message has been edited by Moriarty (edited 03-23-2000).]
  20. Go for it with Goanna, Syphon, it'll be an education. He gave me one.
  21. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by PanzerLeader: And what about us Europeans? After all this is the continent where CM took place!! So a showing of the beta would be most suited to Europe, the game would feel at home here <HR></BLOCKQUOTE> Hey, Panzerleader, if Europe is home to CM then you already know all about it. I'll go to Australia. Rune, can you fit me in a suitcase. I don't take up much room. ------------------ It's a piece of junk — Moriarty
  22. Mebbe he needs the Black Pill they used on the Painless Pole in M*A*S*H. It seemed to work pretty well ... and the followup care was none too shabby either. ------------------ It's a piece of junk — Moriarty
  23. And if you tangle with Goanna in RB, beware his schrecks. I mentioned to Berli that I had 2 working M4s against Goanna, who was sans his 88s. Berli asked if Goanna still had his schrecks. I says, Yup. Berli's response: Hah, you're f####d.
  24. Berli responds well to jarhead, too ------------------ It's a piece of junk — Moriarty
