Can BTS explain how victory points are awarded?….I played Berlichingen and I made a draw against my hero attacking him on The Sunken Lane with my British troops. Well my orders were to take Hill 102 (the Large Flag)….well after bitter fighting I took Hill 102 and a small flag, leaving the other small flag to Berli. End result: Draw?????!!!!!!! Here the details: Allied Attacker Axis Defender 317 casualties (64 KIA) 269 casualties (80 KIA) 1 mortar destroyed 10 captured 3 vehicles knocked out 2 mortars destroyed Men OK: 243 Men OK: 173 1 large flag controlled 1 small flag controlled 1 small flag controlled Score: 54 Score: 46 Now …what did my troops die for?…they conquered Hill 102….draw??? Thus I express my question again: is there a formula for awarding victory points or is fuzzy logic behind this?

Surely I missed something, but can anyone tell me how to choose the victory flag among the bogus ones? I created a scenario with dynamic victory flags chosen by the attacker, but when I played the scenario the computer assigned one of them aurtomatically. Please help!

Bogged down and immobilized vehicles
Knaust replied to Knaust's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
Thx buddies...too late! Anyway does speed movement affect the chance of bogging down? -
Is there something to do with vehicles that bogged down and subsequently immobilized (doh!)? Moreover may they subsequently get free from mud automatically by chance?

Using HQs for Indirect Fire Bug
Knaust replied to Knaust's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
Madmatt....I'd like to have that mad talking with a mortar HT too...damn....if I want to suppress an AT gun with a mortar HT I can't without putting that HT in sight of the AT gun...and see it toasted right away! -

Using HQs for Indirect Fire Bug
Knaust replied to Knaust's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
yep...not really a bug....always annoying anyway! -
An on-map mortar can carry out area fire missions without LOS, provided it is in command of an HQ that does have LOS to the desired target location. Good rule!...but it doesn't work with a Mortar HT...very annoying!

oh well guys!...CC2 (CC3 and more are a little ****ty) is completely different from CM...but as a former Cases Ladder #1 I can say that CC2 is a very good adhrenaline game! No adhrenaline in CM but it is more realistic and can simulate a batallion level battle very well. So I enjoy playing CC2 as well as CM!

Seriously..can anyone say if these wonderful mods may impair the smoothness of the game?...I have a PII 433Mhz ATI Rage 8mb 2xAGP and the game runs very fast with the MDMP1 Hi-Res package. Anyway great work Gunslinger...CombatModfinger! -
Winter camos.....are they realistic?
Knaust replied to Knaust's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
Oh another hint for the perfection of CM! Operation Team DeSobry...first battle with falling snow but no snow on ground...no german winter camoed tanks. Second battle...snow on ground...uh oh...during the night some german guys painted wrecks with winter camo! -
I downloaded the winter camo mods..it's impressive!...but...but...2 questions arising about camos: 1. with snow on terrain tanks come in always winter-camoed...is it realistic?...they were always camoed?...isn't it better that tanks be camoed randomly? 2. will camouflage affect opposite targeting?...and if not it would be great that we get a patch for it!
