And dont forget...the different testing of PR..the US testet on us-steel and germans on german steel...as we all know..the german steel was far better also the ammo.. Its on thing to bring such stats on paper..and the others..to see it on the battlefield.. I didnt say..the M4 couldt destroy a Pz. IV...i would sit in a german tank if i hade the choice.. The other things is the special ammo HVAP..and others..it must be displayed..but they seems to rare to see it as a standard ammo..

M4 is equal to Pz IV??? let us spoke about normal AP rounds....75mm pennetrating is little more than 60mm (M4) Pz IV with better optics and gun would outmatch the ugly green US-Thing.. on longer ranges 800-1000 meters.. on closer ranges..may the different isnt great.. but if i hade the choice, i would spend my money to the Pz IV... Username is rigth with his comment about the poor balistical stats from the HVAP Ammo...

Hi Hofbauer... r you sure about the 25mm?? must be nearly the same PP like the 20mm Gun... and 25mm US-Steel or the ones what the germans hade in use? I must ask everytime...cause i didnt read any war storys abaut a immobilized or may destroyed tank thrue a .50 cal

Uhm..realy nice reading..and why didnt implement BIG-Time those features? i couldn say *B* and my Panthers and Tiger1 r destroyed by super M4 and other Monster US Tanks.. ...every shoot they made..they hit.. No wonder...CM is made from US-guys for the US Market...

What a stupid posting.... From people who only r interrests in armor and Gunpower.... You could never compared bouth armys... the alliies vs. Germans. The USA entered the Europe theatre after a time, the german had allready lost it. After 43.. they hade not enougth raw materials like gas, steel ect... The Air bombardment was so heavy, nearly all bigger faktories were destroyed or so mutch damaged, that nothing could delivery to the front troops in sufficient nummbers. Also the nearest railways and streets. I hade see Air pics ´from the bombed areas..damn nerver belived they could made any weapons there but they did it..with porblems but they did. Also the many fine Army leaders, killed by our best Friend Butt-head "AH"... And if we think "What if", when russia declar piece on germany and the hole army in the east turned to face the allieds in the west?? May the germans would not become back the airsuperiority but they would made it a little bit fairer for her komrads on earth. I say..the allieds would run away, if the germans do a bombardment on all the moves the allieds did. Like in the early stages of the invasion. How would they figth against a estfront-unit/army..?? What would you say how many soldiers r expericed from the hole 3,5 million allied soldiers in the west? IMHO not so many. Im not the man who sayd "the germans r the best" but i couldn also hear "USA hade won the War". I have great respect for the "normal" german soldiers not the one hwo killed civilists. All in all..im happy that we lost the war..and we could spoke about what if"..he he...and play computergames. Im not the one who made the spell "Ueber-Tank" but try this: "Tiger-Fibel-Handbook" 1.8.43 In 6 hours of figthing a Tiger got 227 hits from APR-riffels (remember, at-rifles hade more punch as a heavy-mg) and 25 hits thrue Artillerie shells, with some damage on the wheels and traces, he was still able to drive 60 Km. And back to the .50cal thing and his qualitis, the german decided, "20mm lost the ability to made mutch harm to figthers" Need to hear the stats from Allied HQ`s about the same thing and his 50.cal. Sure the .50 could knock out sdkfz`s but i would pref. in "real" the MG 42 over the .50. I need only to shoot at a truck, the first thing the soldiers do, is to bail out...and... Is it realy from interrest, to see ".50 could immobil. a Tiger"?? if i sit in a jeep, i would drive elswere before i shoot with my poor mg at a tank.

I think about the AT-Capabality from the .50cal MG...it depends on the range, if you take a closer look on this MG, you will see, it hase onle a short to med. barrel length=low muzzle veloc. compared to a "thrue" at-rifle like the PTR with 14mm and a long barrell, you must come within 30-50 meters to knock out a heavy armored vehikle like the puma and the rest of the late war sdkfz`s.

Doug... i have seen in a wwII documentation.. I saw a crew of a IG18 7,5cm on a massive, old Stonebuilding shooting. I was verry astonished , which harm this small gun can arrange. A complete halfside (or more the corner) has collapsed fully. At the latest after the first shoot, i would be already somewhere.

do not spend your hole money only for a faster card.. dont forget the display.. imho the most important thing in computer hardware. The money were you needed for glasses, if you become older, you can spend also for a better display. My choice...iiyama 22" 130khz 1600x1240 104Hz I love this monster.....

Thomm, do you know the sort of gun?? maybe it could only be a 3,7 at or 7,5 IG18. The ohter guns weigth is over 1tonns, hard to run with it

I think, the Sherman against a hidden Stug or Hetzer hase noch chance..The Stugs have a very low Siluette (in the contrast of the very high Shermans) and on larger removal, are considered them with their better optics in any case. German crews required in the cutting around the 2 shot per hits (according to removal)

I believe, that it is not so easy, to kill a tiger of in front with the Bazooka . As you have said already, which the optimal pennetration power is 97mm. The armor-plating of the tiger however always 100mm. Then you must hit also still in an direct graden angle. Therefore, the chances sink always further. With the slight range, one can assume, that the Bullet does not have just a stable flight path, which again a perfect shot excludes.I would credit me really only a shot of the back, and I have shot already times with a Bazooka.

The Pershing must be near out of sigth...if the 88er should rebound. Please no Sturmtiger...or I put a Train/Rail Gun on my wishlist

I in that once more I do not have so much knowledge over the American tanks, but to have believe read, that the jumbo had only maximum 150mm armor-plating (say me a source if Im wrong). That is not so important however also. As mentions, disturbs me more the absolutely good Hit percentage of the Hellcats. Usually if they arrive, they meet with the first shot also with large removal and that can not be. I have tried this yesturday again(tigers 1000 meters removes set up) almost each second shot the Hellcats made hits, the tiger needed 14 shot around all three. If one considers, that the Tigercrews consisted of veterans (comapared to the "normal" US crew) and disposed of better Optic, I think, there must be improved still some (especially when so much value is set on reality).

Hi Fionn, I wisely, you have much expectation of the war. I can not understand however, that you want to make believe us, that the tanks use their radio only for it around with other tanks. It can not be however, that the soldiers run to the tank, and made signs with a hammer on the Tank, to show the crew, what they have to do . Maybe have made that the Russians . If already no Kommandtank is thereby, then must have at least the HQ a Radio thereby, to coordinate the attack from a favorable position. Greetings Big Backblast

Hi guy`s why all of your`s looks only at the penetration stats in your books?? dont forget the better german iron (esp. for the Tigers) you cant compare the 100mm front armor from a Tiger to the same where Allied Tanks used. I have a pic from a Tiger who got a hit from a 76,2mm gun (dont know the Range) and the bullet scratched only 3-5 mm, in your books you can read, that the ® 76mm gun hase a pent. rate of 90mm at 500m. I will not made any cricism about the realistic from the game and what "really" happend on the Battlefield (if the game say`s the 17 pounder can destroy a Tigers front upper Hull, I take it like it is) but my opinnion is, that you hade a really low chance to do this at over 500meters. The most I miss in Wargames like CM is...they forget to include the option, that the german uses better rangefinder and optics. This is verry important esp. on longer ranges. Fionn: I belive you know that the amerikans hade the same problem with the Tungsten like the germans and they r happy if they get some of it. Also I read here about the weak Tiger VIB side Armor the 80mm plus sloped is enougth to stop the most Bulletts you can exspect. Dont forget, only 20% of all KTigers r killed by ennemy tanks mostly on the east front. To the CM-Brothers..175mm front armor for the Jumbo?? little bit high or?? 150 must be enougth. For the "last defense" to win you need only to put your tiger behind the woods (ca. 1300m) with a little Los to the entire points of the Hellcats and you can kill one after one easely.
