  3. I like it dark and bad...and hell, where r the rings??
  4. Sorry again Mr. Hofbauer i saw it to late... Now you must defend me with my argumentation about the Piat and her hard or complicated reload...now i know it...i got this info from your site..
  5. We hade those quality discussions long time before. I think, the most important part is the leadership. If you have an experienced unit with a bad leadership who send you on the wrong point into combat, you will loose. Also i do everytime wonder about some guys tryed allways to compare the german with the Allied quallitys or they combat effectivnes. How would the US, Brits, Canadians, Russians...ect. perform, if they were attacked by a comparable overhelming forces like the Allied hade in Air and Arty plus other supporting units?? Not to mention the luxury supply situation (in most parts) the western allies hade. My Grandpa telled me, sometimes they were lucky to get a handfull of ammo, this isnt the way to hold the combat effectivnes to a decent limit. Also to known of the own quality tanks like breakdowns or few capazity of fuel, or to knwo not reach in save conditions the frontline due to bombardments or true partisans...IMHO its really hard to compare both armys without to include those happenings.
  6. Aehem...didnt you miss the "Schwebekreisvisier" on the Kar98 for AA purposes?? Ok, it was only used against fighters in her hangars or before the starting prozedur...but i have the feeling it must be in...or??
  7. Ok i give up...my grandparents died last year, so i couldn ask them how common the word "puppchen" was... Mattias: I have something from Fleischer, but this one arent on my shelf.. Sorry for this, i know, im not the god of all WWII infos..but i couldn writh better due to my bad english... Im over 20 jears interessted in the history of wwII, mostly i got the infos from books and alot first hand storys..but they arent all rigth and im happy if i found here the answer.
  8. Not in my case, im a german and i know my language (not so the english.. ). If you can show me a german book without the "Umlaut", i will belive you. Puppchen sounds like a polish guy try to speak german... K_Tigerchen
  9. It doesnt exist a word like Puppchen...only Püppchen is the right answer. Thats the same word you have to say to a young woman, if you like a smack with all five fingers in your face.. May today it isnt to risky..but i wont it to try out...
  10. Mr. Dorosh: Sorry i must disagee again, the biggest reason not to build more "Püppchen" was the dislike from the crews who statet it made to mutch smoke after the first firing and were suddenly spotted by the ennemy. Also you couldn dig in with it like with normal At-weapons, if somthing is behind you the smoke that comes out of the back couldn leave the place where the gun r placed and the crew cant anymore aim at targets.
  11. I read elswere on the net, the piat was a hard to reload weapon only realy strong mens could reload it in a couple of time.. All Panzerschreckteams wear fireproofed ponchos, so i think, they could use it also in Buildings with limited danger..
  12. What??? All prisonears were killed?? All red-Cross vehikels bombed?? Please refresh your history knowledge. May some units and in some circumstances, od things happend but it was not the rule.
  13. Interresting, but i never read or hear about dead soldiers true toxic or other form of gas. Isnt it against the genevea convention??
  14. Mattias: The examination and decission comes after the Allied landings in the normandy. So we can count it "late in the war". Dont ask me where i read it and i havent the time to search around for it ...sorry..
  15. What do you mean with trivial wounded?? a flesh wound or lost a eye...or what?? You will agree with me, that you couldn compare the "low on Soldier" problem the germans hade. I mean mostly the US guys...did the Cannucks fight in WWII??...sorry only joking... I know they were no Psychatric clinics at this time, if you dont count the Hospitals for mongoloids or other concentration camps. Its sure you will not find any official release from the side of the wehrmacht about psychical breakdowns due to the fact the germans r the übermenschen... He dont telled what he did or were he was, may he made hollydays at home..I belive there were alot who get shocked due to the fighting and incapable to stay any longer at the front.
  16. For what a tungsten cap?? there r many reason for a ballistic cap, one to become better aerodynamic = more MV, a other with a soft material to prevent the bullet to reccochet on sloped armor. Also, tungsten is a really heavy material in weight so i think it would make the bullet a bit nose heavy...and again..to expensive and rare.
  17. The most reason why the germans use only AP ammo on the westfront, was, after examing (Heereswaffenamt)destroyed ennemy Tanks, they found out that the subcaliberrounds made in the most circumstances only minor holes without a serius damage to the tanks. Sometimes the bullet went out of the other side. So they decided to use AP ammo with HE filler. Even with a shortage on Tungsten, it was easier to produce some Tungsten ammo per tank as to change to bigger calibers like to put a 88 gun on the Panther or the many try`s to field the 128mm gun on some chassis. Its a miracle to me, why all german Tanks pop up, after a K round penetrats it. May you loose some men one or two...but you can still fight if there is no serious damage, its a different thing wen a ap with filler explode inside a small steel box...
  18. Couldn remember exactly what i wrote, but hade the same emotion like you after testing it. May its interesting for you, they hade the close combat trilogy at her office and liked it much. We spoke alot about publishing and distibuting and i did understand it would be hard for a small company like they were at this time, to sell a hardcore WWII game. Im still more interessted to see a game in the close combat style then to follow a one minute TV like in CM. With a intelligent strategic option, may with resources and other gooddies. Imagine a game were you could capture faktories, cut supply routes..ect. I must stop to dream....cost me my sleep..
  19. Yes, a bit over the target.. ) but did you know, i hade playtestet sudden strike in the CDV home office. At this time, i was a big fan of the close combat series and my playtesting was more a pain then fun...please belive me...hehehe.. Nonetheless...the CO and the other guys from CDV were really nice guys...and spend alot of pizzas and pasta... At all, it wasnt a bad day.. )
  20. Dont forget, the western allies mostly send theyr troops back if wounded put a purple whatever on the jacket an send them with best wishes at home... Germans hadnt the luxury to do this and the most guys on the front were allready wounded in the past or hade some other drawbacks like psychic breakdowns ect. I saw a really good diskussion with some german vets on the TV, they telled, after two weeks of non-stop fighting 24 hours a day mostly, they got a psychic breakdown and were sended back to home to regain her mental power. So hwo will decide, if a wounded Vet is better then a fresh rookie??
  21. Damn Parabellum...funniest reading in the last couple of days...If those Dogs didnt made into the game, i swear, i go and buy sudden strike..
  22. I agree, they couldn implement a detaildepth like in real, but im wondering all of the pro german things r excluded like better optics, small turning radius, ect.... Also they hade no problems to change the german armor quality in the last patch, without to know if only the frontal armor was from lower quality or the complete Tank. Rexford stated, mostly the Panthers hade 85mm frontalarmor, but did we see this?? This is discussed here to the end, but im now playing more often in the last time and some things made me still angry i see in the game. Not only pro US decissions, also the sniper Sdkfz. 209 with the 75mm gun, i killed more tanks with them as i lost true tanks. I hope CM:BB will be a bit better...
  23. The big selling "boost" comes after the distribution from CDV, belive me, there r so many WWII grogs around they never know to be one, after they found a CM copy in one of the supermarkets around europe. There r many reasons for some people not to buy from oversea, "wich rules r counting if there r some shipping problems" or anything else like that. It was the right doing to sell over a distributor in europe, this will give extra money and save us for some more years a really good game.
  24. Thx for the replay redwolf but how strong must the "best ammo" be?? If they took the "average" from both. Let us say 66mm for the worst ammo the better ones must around 112mm at 500 meters 90/0 degrees...to come to the 89mm you see in the game. Its again nearly the doubled pennetration effekt like the 76mm and tungsten cores (in the game) If you see the stats for the german ap ammo compared to the Pg. 40 (Tungsten/Wolfram) you cant see such a dramticaly improofment. Must be a wonderammo made by Mirakulix the US troops fielded... If you look at the stats about Ap and Tungsten ammo, you may see mostly up to 500m a penetration boost up to 50%..but not 100% like for the US ammo in the game. Im not sure you can even get out 50% of such a short barreled gun like the 75mm L/37,5. May someone with better knowlledge as i could clear up my mind...
