  1. I have 4 GB (but on a 32 bit system, so only about 3.3 effective) and have also experienced Out of Mem, errors (EoS.exe using up to 1.8 Gb). I try to exit the game every 50 turn or so to reduce the risk of getting this error.

  2. Just a litte thread where I can gather and add my change suggestions, kind of like an aide-mémoire for myself. :) Feel free to add yours.

    RFC001 - Double-click in rules editor lists.

When double-clicking on a unit, building or technology in the list, it would be nice if the edit-window was opened automatically.

RFC002 - Expand unit list summary in rules editor.

Include maintenance, view and movement ranges and hit points to the unit summary list.

    RFC003 - Starting new game.

Have the option to select the same settings for generating a random map as you have in the map/scenario editor (amount of land, rainfall etc).

  3. That's great to hear, I did not think they did....

The problem is still very much there. What I mean is that the planes seems to be tracking the carrier as they did in the release version, but when launching the go to the point the carrier was when the order was given and then simply crash there, regardless of fuel status.

  4. it doesn't matter. if you don't pick it. Because the way I described it. It only matter if you don't have anything else picked, and since you say you don't pick money. Then it won't affect you at all.

Since it would be the default, and if anything else is picked it would over ride it.

I think this is a good idea. Having to deselect Money when switching back to unit production is a little nagging. :P

  5. ...Regardless of how slick the game looks, it comes across as just a modernized, redone Empire Deluxe.....

If that is the case, then EoS might have an image problem. I say might, because the thought of a new Empire game was what sold me in the first place. :)

Anyway, EoS is so much more due to it's modability. The potential looks staggering and I'm really looking forward to start digging into the core of the game!

  6. Surprised there are not many thumbs-up on EoS. Perhaps everyone is jaded after playing the demo? I never did, but the release version is one sweet game....Let's get the word out on this great game!

I think most have just been caught by surprise by the release as we weren't expecting it for another week or so. :) I guess by evening US time this will be one busy board.

  7. Downloaded full version and sat up a game with random, max size map, 9 AI players.

At turn 30, the game reported Out of Memory when trying to save. I checked the Task Manager and EoS exe was using about 1.8 Gb ram. I was able to exit the game normally and reload the auto-save. I played a few more turns and the game quickly gobbled up memory again, so I think there might be a potential problem with releasing system resources.

Otherwise, I'm extremely happy to be playing the full version! Thanks for sneak-releasing it on us! :P

  8. sometimes the game does seem to freeze. My own remedy is the Windows key twice to bring up the Start menu and close it. The game always became responsive after that.

Hmm, gotta try that next time. I've used the task manager to kill the process (but that was a build or two ago).

Maybe the freezes are evolving ;)

In that case Brit has developed the AI too far! :D
