  1. Careful Moon, some of these numbskulls will take you seriously without a 'wink' attached.
  2. IFB: That amount actually sounds about right. I ordered an item from Canada a few weeks ago and the shipping was about $13- the item measured 6"x6"x2". I stinks, but everything is more expensive to ship lately. Seems like all the low cost options said, "oh, the hell with it" and raised their rates to equal the other guys.
  3. Ehh... what's one millimeter between friends? We are all such a bunch of grogs it's not even funny.
  4. But what if said hoi poloi have made off with the last of the steelcases and hardcopy manuals, hmmmm?
  5. Uggh, I think my stomach just rolled over like the Bismarck...
  6. Shouldn't you girls be over at the pre-order booth for CM:BN instead of trading bad insults with one another?
  7. Yeah, not to mention the "blue hairs".
  8. Nah, I am having the same viewing issues too.
  9. They mention it will be a separate pre-order page Michael, down in the fine print area. Coming soon. Oh, and did everyone catch this one? "Combat Mission: Battle for Normandy is scheduled for release around the end of April, 2011." Had to rub my eyes a bit on that particular piece of news! I sure didn't expect an announcement quite this stupendous.
  10. That's great news. Pre-ordered and chomping at the bit sir! Love having a printed manual by the way and the steelcase is a nice touch with the ability to hold future family module releases. Well thought-out guys.
  11. While I too am in favor of a improved handling of UI resolution within the game, my gut tells me this is one of those improvements that needs significant time to get it right. Not necessarily hard, but time consuming to program and more importantly- test. Here's hoping it's "on the list". One game I play that has impressed me with their treatment of UI customization is LOTRO (Lord of the Rings Online). Enter a single key command and all the main UI screen components are outlined and labeled along with their size so you can drag and drop to your hearts content. Combined with the UI options menu that allows changing layout of toolbars from horizontal to vertical, visible vs. invisible, and a way to increase the size of all the UI components up and down with a keystroke there isn't much you can't do to perfect your personal experience. Ultimately that is where I would like to see Battlefront head with their CMx2 engine. Same could be said of re-introducing moveable waypoints in my opinion.
  12. Some great suggestions guys- thanks! Oh, and I missed a typo on Bernstein. I have Citroen and Flame on my Netflix to watch list, just have to do it. Some others I have not seen, looking forward to checking them out. I will add one other that is an all-time favorite of mine: "The Train" 1950's Director: John Frankenheimer (of "Grand Prix" fame) Simply amazing cinematography shot in black and white. Burt Lancaster plays a French Railroad officer who also runs a French underground operation. He is asked to save the nation's art collection from the nazis taking them to Germany. By the way, Burt was an acrobat in his younger years and did all the stunts in his films.
  13. In the hopes of further distracting myself and all the rest of you sorry-arse gents, I give to you this... LIST. Please consider it your sworn duty to contribute to rather than disparage or otherwise I shall throw a high, hard sod-off in your direction. If you intend on posting mainstream, legacy recommendations, say something about why you like it so much. Without further ado... Must-see War Documentary: "The Fog of War" - (Eleven Lessons From the Life of Robert S. McNamara) 2003; Director: Errol Morris Although I have never been an admirer of McNamara, I found this documentary very thought-provoking and though 85 at the time of filming, he is just as sharp as ever. Well worth the DVD-only Netflix rental guys. Seriously, I cannot recommend it enough, despite any feelings you may have towards the man. Action/Suspense War Movies: "When Trumpets Fade" - HBO 1990? I think I like WTF because the actors are pretty much unknown (other than Dwight Yoakam) and it is a grim and non-glorifying look at the campaign in the Hurtgenwald. Has some rather memorable dialogue in it as well. "The Great Escape" - MGM 1963; Director/Producer: John Sturges What isn't there to like here? Great actors, awesome Bavarian scenes, perfect Elmer Berstein score, suspense and stirring. I particularly enjoy the landscape shots and seeing some of my favorite actors at their best. "Where Eagles Dare" - MGM 1968; Director: Brian Hutton, Producer: Elliott Kastner This adaptation of Alistair MacLean's novel is another great romp through Bavaria. I always liked the mystery aspect of not knowing what was really going on in the plot. Another once-a-year minimum watch in my book. There are plenty of others, but I don't want to be greedy. Next!
  14. Agreed. A "word-to-the-wise" type primer from one of the (overworked) beta testers with map AI experience would be spot on. You know, basic dos and donts, along with other lessons learned from their perspective.
  15. Here is one place to start: http://www.ww2dday.com/home.html He is located in Ocean City, MD. And you can always look at the US Army site: http://www.history.army.mil/index.html Hope these help!
  16. Well, obviously better than you mister missed-a-bracket! Tut tut...
  17. It's not even so much the dying part really. Subpar power supplies are notorious for causing all sorts of weird behavior and of course blue screens of death. It can make someone with little experience chase their tail looking for the "problem", when it's the power supply all along. Not to mention shortening the life of the rest of the components.
  18. Psst... hey Nidan1, don't look now, but I think you're being ignored. Vintage Bratley.
  19. Oh- so you're just sniffing them to get high then, eh? No wonder your arguments lack that certain... how shall I put it- intelligence? No wonder Joe berated your lackluster opening to this stupendous thread.
  20. Shhh... I hear Boo has a "thing" for scented magic markers. You know, like strawberry, lilac, and for his bad days- dung. [blackadder] Mrs. Miggins: Oh, hardly any of us common people are allowed to vote! Blackadder: ...and a damn good thing too! Give the likes of Baldrick the right to vote and we'll be back to stoning, cavorting with druids and dung for dinner!! Baldrick: Oh... I'm 'aving dung for dinner tonight! [\blackadder]
  21. Hmmph. Somebody woke up on the wrong side of the cesspool this morning, eh? What's a matter Joe? Panties too tight? Sheesh... you wankers are no fun at all. And by the by Joe, I am not, nor have I ever been a Submersible Ship Nuclear. Just sayin'...
  22. That's a bug they mentioned the other day- it will be squashed, rest assured.
  23. Uhh Joe? I think Stuka has gotten too close to that Sun he claims he is beyond. You know the bas-tard, tell 'im to fly right or somefink.
  24. Fail Noba? Something you, my cesspool friend have altogether too much in common with it would seem. Go back to polishing those tarnished laurels and brown-nosing the Foole's opening. Pudknocker.
