  1. John; thanks for the comments an tipps. I am for the moment in a Balancing calculation statistics, and checking how much Axis need to take to have same MPP as Allies. As you may have seen, USA is roughly VERY strong. So if i remember well i had once seen a listing of Allies VS Axis Forces, and the capacities of Axis Germany was roughly the same as USSR . France about less tan 1/3 of Germany, GB about 1/3 and Italy 20%. USA instead looked heavy with about 250%. but this makes it not balanced...even if Japan is set roughly like Germany. I think one help is also to Upgrade/strengthen the Convoys from USA to URSS, because there is not even the space to place so much Mines... - )

  3. yes. i also had the experience that, after the mudd ist gone some Airstrikes of all 3 AF combined with a Tank punch a Hole in one round. Next round you are "in" and 2 rounds later Paris is taken.
  4. Thanks John for this feedback!! I really hope we all can have soon more fine tuning for this map. So trying to set some details in this map better here some comments and questions: 1) the 2 Indias are required, as East commonwealth did declare war to Japan only on December 41. this One India is concentratetd in Helping Europe Scenario, and the other is for Pacific. 2) YES. ok. i also thougt of some more Mines near URAL. how about 2-3? 3) OK USA will get PLENTY of GI s for the next , just also tell which ones (Ships ) have wrong names, or maybe some listing of Tank or Land Units who played a role in the different scenarios. I had searched a lot in Wiki for some famous ships, but any help is useful. so dont hesitate to send me listings of troop names. 4) this is to Hubert to see for... 5) Borneo MPP go directly to Japan without Convoy. Problem of the Netherland-East Indies COnvoy is that the "using %" are set a little too low after surrender. some fine tuning will be done ther, shure. Anyway if there are no convoys, Japan also getts all the MPP as following the Effectivenes limit of 50%. So australian MPP are shure to Japan. 6)YES! right. All govenrments of Commonwealth will FLEE to Canada if lost Australia f.ex. better so, no? 7) difficult issue this Islands in the Pacific. in WAW i think it will be better to replace the Fortress with a "Tropical Village" city. all at the end was about to have the supply of 5 minimun on the islands. i think with Villages the Islands should be easier to take. maybe i ll set an aditional "land" field for invasion if the Marine Invasion doesnt work. for to see if playable with more players, this is an idea to forward to Hubert. also would be happy to hear about results H vs H games. I must say you will discover the interisting this game is only after knowing more details. its not so easy like Age of Empires III where you have fun from the first moment on. this is more like CHESS, where one MUST take experience as to love it. If you like CHESS i think you can love this also, it seems easy like chess on the first look, but it really is'nt.
  6. I would Say Sealion is more costy than Egypt, and brings less Options. The Only advantage ist that Taking Britain means that an later Invasion in continental Europe ist less probable. Egypt Instead means: Middle East, Turkey Option and Baku Raid possible, so i would opt for this in mostly all cases. Also normally for a British Player it is mostly better to hold Britain instead of Egypt, so a Sealion is normally rahter heavy.

Thanks a lot guys! must admit that it was A LOT OF WORK, but finally im happy to have done it. anyhow still thinking of doing some details better, for example i'm afraid that the poor british army only holds one lonley full equipped Aircraft, so in some deatils i was thinking of giving them maybe one more AF with force 3. If anybody has a proposition in detail works just say!

  9. Some Information for the "World in Flames 39" Scenario. I am really surprised that anyone even tried to play this against AI, as i have done not any AI Skript or any AI plannings. This scenario is a Human vs Human for the moment. To Retributar: In a normal Scenario against human an Axis advance against Kasaghar may be as difficult as take US-Denver. The City on the Western side is just to prevent China from really surrender. To Gorgin: For British ( and only British ) troops there is a loop possible from Kashagar to Urmuchi. This shall represent the "Burma Street" as its not possibleto put it in Burma. The Cities Kunming and Jenan are sourroundet by Mandschuria Territory, as this is the only possibility to create "Rebels" within the Chinese Territory, as history tells that in CHina was something like a Civil War between Tschiang Kai Tschek and Mao Tse Tung . For a better form of representing Rebels (Civil War Aspects) would be pleased to hear from you. For South America: i think the role of brasil as this of Venezuela are almost important, as these normally should be gained by USA diplomatically for better MPP. So all please Keep in Mind: THIS IS STILL NOT AI Game. only realisitc for Human Vs Human.
  10. Frost: well i did'nt plan any AI Skripts, i first try to perfectionize the normal map, also checking distances between the cities for Airborn Units and so on. I am also for the moment looking for some good pictures of the A6M0 Zero Fighter, for the Bitmaps, as i am not sooo 100% glad of the ones sent to me, they should be perfectionized, as they are a littler rough as says moonslayer. Well we could work togehter in the way one tries to perfectionize the Army / Tank Units and the other one concentrate on Air Units. I for my Part am on the map in first Instance, would be also happy of some ideas for the Phillipines mapping, as i have been told Phillipines Field in the south is out of supply and moving impossible. maybe Putting the harbour south? or 2 Harbours?
  11. In WIkipedia I found a list of mayor vessels in Sept 1939. Problem : japan doesnt figure there. Info as follows: GB F D USA Carrier 8 2 0 6 Battleships 15 7 2 15 Panzerships 0 0 3 0 light Cruiser 15 7 2 18 Heavy Cruiser 49 12 6 19 Destroyer 201 71 22 k. A. Subs 38 76 57 90 So HOW would you represent these ships in the map??? For example there was a Light Cruiser "Admiral Graf Spee" stationed near Argentinia when the war begun. so as ships are groups would the representation be a 5 points Cruiser ok? or is this too much? or not enough? in any case if somebody would have an idea or a list in how much ships any nation should have ( and get by the time ) and also in whitch theatre to put the ship i would be grateful. It s not so easy it seems... Same for if somebody has a link or a list of Carrier Groups active from Japan and USA by Oct 39, as well as the following Ship-Production until 41. To Moonslyer: i have a doubt if only 6 Carriers bring the game fun of the pacific scenario, as every carrier can only make one attac per turn... take a fortress like Midway seems almost impossible to me with only 4 or 6 Carriers where these Carriers also are divided in West North and East Groups.... Or other solution: Increase the Attac Values of a Carrier, but this seems to be too impredectible for the results, could be that te carrier then results the Ultimative Warmachine...

Kuniworth: Right, seems anyway that Texas and California actually want to play a "special" role in US Politics, but some guy like our Austrian Schwarzenegger may be "cleaning up" better than an other one who only speaking making nothing... To Frost: my email: dastoeckl@hotmail.com the Sicilly Problem is now cleaned, and will be updated next Saturday, with some other details. For the total allowed Units i'm not so shure, i taked it almost like in "Fall Weiss" Scenario. I also had the problem to know how much Carriers will I allow to Japan or tu USA. Any Idea? The point is Japan had at best times 12, and USA in 1945 increible 34 Carriers. Should i Really allow 34 Carriers?????? Any suggests?
  13. Frost: where are these Japanese Sprites? did`n't find any attached or any link. plz send link or email. Tagul: check if the files are unpacked in the right folder. so do the download "save in": then search Strategic Command 2/Campaigns/"1939 world in Fire.zip" there you unpack ( with WINZIP) after unzipping there should be a file: .../Campaigns/1939 World in Flames.cgn and A Folder: .../Campagigns/_1939 World in Flames In this Folder you should find Folders named: Map Data, Scripts , Sound ,Bitmaps , Interface, and Localization.txt, and Campaign.exe or so. If these files are correctly there and in the same folder as all other campaigns you shoulod be able to load the Scenario. Check this out.

In case it does n t work, better downlaod again and check that the file is in campaign folder. and that there are boths folders: Wordl in flames.cgn AND the other one (named: "_1939 World in flames" ) as folder also in which should be the Bitmap file as well as scipts and other files. to Gorgin: thanks: next update will be named Venezuela, problem was i had 2 Countries to form and only one country left, so normally it is Colombia-Venezuela, but Venezuela plays more role so i ll rename it. to Moonslayer: Sicily is terribly difficult to paint as i had not enough fields to represent this island. any idea ho to match a Port AND the city AND the possibility of invasion? plz send Sreenshot by email if idea. Tnx . to :dastoeckl@hotmail.com Maybe also send me the sprites file of Japanese as to have them analyzed. For URSS Readyness: ill have then the Readiness of URSS get up some percents more from 1.1.41 on with the next update. Any ideas for thsi map dont hesitate to sent them to my email or post script ideas. if somebody is interested in a email SCPBEM also plz send me 1 turn. Also any wrong or not engough sript reactions to allies or Axis activities plz post. would be great if I could balance a little better with some experiences of yours.
  15. Hello all, now available the Szeanrio "1939 World in Flames" complete playable for Multiplayer or Hotseat featuring themost equivalent imitation of the World in 3. Sept 1939. Link here: http://www.panzerliga.de/dt/docs/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2281 Some ideas for Allies: important to have Italy fought in Abessinia in Early 1940 to keep control of africa. Important to know if the ennemy will fight or not in Ruassian/Japanese Front Japan should go defensive in China by mid 41, in order to have control of NL-India AND some Oilwells of British Commonwealth by the entry of USA. Axis can go as usual in Szenario 1939 FallWeiss, but should decide weather to help in Abessinia or not, and should not forget to prepare Japan for the big ennemy instead of only fighting down China. Only fighting CHina IS mortal if there are no diplomatic AND/OR preparations for Indochina as well as NL-India and maybe the coup of Pearl Harbour by an Surprise attac. Have fun and send me any details that should still be done better. Anyway it is now a little better/good balanced maybe a little too much allies, as the calculation od a equal MPP is based on Axis take and Hold: NL,DK,E,P,Egypt,Algeria,YU,TUN,SYR,IRQ,ABessinia,H,BG,RO, 6 Cities of USSR, as well as F-Indochina, Thail., as well as 4 Cities of CH, AND 2 Oilwells and 3 Cities of East Br. Commonwealth, AND Phillipines. So Axis MUST advance as strongas in Fall weiss Szenario to have a balanced MPP. HAVE FUN!
  16. 2 Cities named Houston?? oops that is an error. have you maybe position? in other case i look for , no problem. the Two USA: well The "Houston USA" is a minor USA that has the port of San Diego and several Oil Wells in Golf of Mexico, and this USA is in FAVOR of Axis. this represents the important Trade (Oil selling) of the United States towards Japan that was stopped only 7 (!) Month before Pearl Harbour. THis also represents that USA was getting "hot" only by entering the War end 41 and the immense impact of a Fully active USA. Therefore the Mayor-Allies-USA at the beginning has very low MPP but gets the Oil Wells with Annexation(can also do it dimplomaticaly :Diplomatic USA to USA-Minor: can represent the Congress difficulties between Isolationists and War-Chiefs) But anyway Allies USA is Anexing Minor USA on March 41 with following Text: "US-Crongress decides complete Oil and Steel Embargo to Japan" Then Minor USA is eaten by USA that getts the full MPP of the Oilwells. By the way the Embargo was one of the reason that Japan Attacked USA, they absolutely needed OIL and USA had closed diplomatic possibilities/sellings. In the Game Japan doesn t get much MPP by defeating Countries as do Germany ( Benelux/France/Algeria/Tunisia/Greece etc etc...) so Japan gets on the beginning MPP support in form of Oil from Nl-India and USA Minor. As Allies Mayor can by no way send Convoys to the ennemy (skript not possible) the USA Minor solution was the easiest. When by error a Axis Player thiks he can Attak USA on early 40, then the Allies PLayer can in the very next turn "invade" Houston-USA ( no tropps there ) and gets FIRST: BIG MPP SHOT as well as MORALE Bonus by fall of "Houston", this can represent for example the Huge Motivation of US-people in the early war beginning after Pearl Harbour. But anyway, if somebody has a better idea to represent this complicated political situation in the 39-40 then send me any idea.
  17. Hello . Thanks for your updatet info. Sorry i had the new map wrongly updated. Now ( 13.8. 13h European time) is allready updated the fixed map. I also cleaned the MapData file, must say i thought there are some vital informations in it so i didn t even touch. now is cleaned. hope it works. So form now on: have fun! plz advise of corrections that may help, unit names to change or unit creations to have a better equalisation.
  18. HELLO ALL! newest UPDATE on my WoRLD MAP WW2 is uploaded TODAY on link thereup. Update 11.8.07 !!!!! Almost all Bugs with grafic have been fixed. to pzgndr: well it was difficult to have the Wars on both sides done well, but the easiest was was to create a West british Commonwealth an a East Britisch Commonwealth. So th West Commonwealth is charging War with Germany in normal order, instead Australia and other Side India as well as New Zeeland as part of East COmmonwealth stay neutral for a time. So the only problem was to have the New Zeeland Corps and Australian Ary in Egypt activated. Well i did it so that West-Commonwealth becomes Army and Corps put in INDIA ready to sail Named Respectively NZeeland Corps and Australian 1 Army. Well anyway see the newes Map and you will also observe that UNITS are down seized in Movability to keep original. many other News, but see yourself. Anyway i will be happy about any new comment or ideas / bugfixes.

The Side to side turn was a mayor problem in RUssia, but should be solved: USSR Troops can take "Transsib-Railway" ( takes 0 turns ). therefore there is a sea in Siberia part, so troops must take "transport" same in CHINA, where Britisch Troops can take Loop, as well as ALL other mayor Nations in the Indian Sea ( USA-GB-D-I-Jap-RUS) I have added a city 3 Steps form Zoukov HQ in Siberia, so the guys have some support, i think Japanese anyway will have difficulties to advance until Karsnoyarsk due to supply. I Think the Russian Capacity is well represented in SC2 scenario, the movability of Army is reduced to 0 tech, so 1 less than germany, the only thing that could be useful would be to rduce USSR Basis Movability of armys and corps to 2 resp. 1 in each case. for tanks it could even keep equal. HQ rating could be same maybe Shukov 10 instead of 9, but then simply it would be possible to reduce HQ attachments to 3 in representation of facts.

  22. Normally Turkey stands Neutral in most games. What about if Axis after France fall, and Norway/Sweden come directly to Seainvasion of Turkey, Normally the USSR enrty is by 80-87% while Attacing Turkey. With 2 HQ, 2 Army, 2 Korps, and 4 Tank you can affrod a fall of Turkey in 3 Rounds: landing 1 Army 1 Korps and 1 HQ to cut off Istanbul and give a Beat with the Army to the only Turkish Army. The 4 Tanks with HQ move from southpart direct to Ankara (3 Turns). one Korps moves to the Eastern city, in case the Allies move the army to the capital. in 2 More turns you can have 4 Tanks on Russian Border and 2 Armys in the Black sea for direct landing on the double Mines. By starting Barbarossa, the Tanks can take all 3 Oilfields, as well as Grozny. DOnt forget to move 2-4 Airfleets to the Eastern City of Turkey. THis early Invasion takes USSR from 480 MPP to 340 MPP in one turn. With Italian Force it is possible to get Irak, leaving Egypt to the allies, trying not to get in touch with the fleet. What arte the Professionals thinking of this option?
