Thank you everyone! As soon as some kind of routine develops with the new trooper, I will find a way to prowl the servers again. The kid in me, or my online bloodlust, won't let me stay away for too long.

I am sorry that I have missed out on all of this action. My wife just had our second daughter, so now I have an infant and a 18 month old running around the house. Serious crunch time in my trigger time.

Hmm..I attempted to play CZ7, but it keeps crashing to desktop, an error message pops up saying there is a "runtime error". Base 1.3.0 still works fine.
What I do wrong?

Looking forward to checking out the new Zoo!!

The bastards must have put some kind of hooyah on the picture so you cannot post it.
I will find a better tank then!

Maybe we can combine the super heavy tank with the Hellbore Ion.
How bout a return of the Mu Arae Entente with its Imperial forces, such as super heavy tanks?
Here is a concept picture, a super heavy tank with a Hellbore Ion cannon, a forward mounted 90mm canon, a 20mm Coax, and a sensor jammer.

Mjolnir is the Norse God Thor's hammer. It is also the name of the Master Chief's armor in Halo.
I like the classic "Ogre" name for a sci-fi supertank from the original game, "Ogre".

I am ready to go out in a blaze of glory!

The SMAW and AT-4 are two entirely different weapon systems. Similar, but different. Just google it.Originally posted by Echo:The SMAW (AT-4) is already in the game. You guys talking about something different?

Sounds like we might get our "Ogre" after all!

Usually on the weekends and evenings, since most DT players have jobs and lives to attend to. Sunday is a standing match day.
If you play solo for awhile on the main servers, quite often someone will see that your on and join the fray.

I have bombarded Clay with a list of infantry suggestions, including the "hot" jets indicator, volley fire (every marine in the squad targets what the squad leader is engaging), and infantry jumping and landing roughly in the same formation, among other things. Hopefully some will come to fruition.
I think Poesel is right, that one bot marine that is seen flying long at the beginning of the attack is the one responsible for giving away the squad's position. That needs to be fixed.
The music came from a website called Edgen. I made myself a Drop Team song list and I usually have it playing while playing, since the game has no music. He makes game and movie music and I think it is really great.

OK, here is a video of an infantry attack in 1.3.0. You can tell that the turrets start shooting even before they get LOS and the enemy bots in the base open fire quite early, as compared to human players who probably would not have seen the squad.

The only thing with an infantry EMP grenade is why use it when your at ATG range? Just go for the kill. But then again, a few EMP grenades added to a squad's inventory would allow them to paralyze a vehicle with one shot, then leisurely walk up and blast it for the coup de grace. Squirm you tanker M_ther F_ckers!...squirm!Originally posted by Redcon-5:OOO.. Evil thought. Infantry with an EMP grenade.
(Insert evil laughter here)
What would be way cool is for the engineer squad to have a few EMP grenades and a way to cap enemy vehicles and take them over!

Yes and Yes.Originally posted by ClaytoniousRex:Do you think the bots still spot you more frequently in this case than players do? Maybe even in that case they need to be toned down some?
While I initally thought there was some adjustment of the bot's spotting of infantry in 1.2.9, it seems that was just a lucky game. In subsequent ones, the bots are still spotting infantry at long range. I try to use the jets very carefully, but I thought it was just over 1/2 that caused the signature and not almost 1/2 of their power, so that might be it too. Maybe that needs to be adjusted just a little. Almost 1/2 of the jet power just gets you going usually. Some kind of indicator on the jet power bar that illuminates when your "hot" and emitting an anti-matter signature, would be a great addition.
The next time I get a chance to play, I will try to make a movie demonstrating the bot spotting.
In my opinion, enemy Hermes and Bacchus seem to have even more super spotting capabilities against infantry.
And hey, good to hear from you Clay! Don't be a stranger. Please keep up the updates, they are fantastic, still enjoying this game alot.

The bot's spotting of infantry still has not been fixed, with the exception of whether or not the jets are used. If you touch the jets, and when you drop, the squad is still spotted at any range. But if you just walk, then it seems there is a chance you will not be spotted. But walking is very very slow....
Maybe this will finally be fixed in the next release.

I hope this is not the death of DT.
