  1. posted April 12, 2006 07:37 PM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Okay guys, I got some news. Starting tomorrow, the server vendor is going to be increasing (by a lot!) the total bandwidth available to download. Not sure why they didnt believe us when we said that tonight was going to be a BIG night but apprently they didn't allocate the bandwidth that they should have. Unfortunately, and trust me I called SEVERAL PEOPLE, this can't be done until tomorrow. In the meantime, instead of hundreds of people all trying to download at the same time throughout the night and each person just getting 3-7 kb/sec rates, we are going to limit how many people can download at one time. Now, if you click on that download button, and you get a Service Not Available Error, or if it times out, please just wait 20 minutes or so and then try again. Sometime tomorrow, once we get the bandwidth that they should have given us from the start, we will open up the download count as it was before, but for now, we just need you guys to form a line right over here. If you got a message before that said you used up all your downloads, just try again as I reset the download count for those that contacted me already. If you still have problems tonight, please just be patient and rest assured that we ARE working on getting this all resolved. My suggestion would be to just try again tomorrow. Madmatt

  4. Kuni, no worries dude, I understand peoples impatience a bit...well okay, I don't but I can ACT like I understand it. Madmatt
  5. Please try and download again, we are working with the elicense to fix a few glitches that some people have encountered and am also getting even more bandwidth for you guys to play with! If you continue to have a problem, you can email me directly at elicense@battlefront.com Madmatt
  6. Hehehe, far more than 50 people are currently downloading it... trust me on that one! Madmatt
  7. Hi guys, we are looking into the time out issue right now. Please hang on while we open up that fat pipe a little bit wider... Madmatt
  8. What I meant was that if you hadn't gotten the email from Martin, I would manually resend it to your email address. I cant manually start downloads or manually send you files etc... GenMarky, I am looking into your timeout issue right now. I appreciate the patience you guys are showing. This is the first night with a new system so we are going to encounter a few bumps in the road. Madmatt
  9. Guys,if any of you pre-ordered already and your order number is LESS than 134409 than you can email right now (or for about the next hour or two that i am up) and I will send you your info manually. Email me at elicense@battlefront.com please. If your order number was 134409 or higher, than your email with download directions will be sent sometime later tomorrow. Now, if that doesn't prove that we are a different type of company to deal with than nothing will! Hmm..I guess that could go either way... 10. Hey -AOM, actually Ed is not really involved in this whole process. I just saw your email to him though about the changed email in your original email though so I will make sure you get in with tomorrows emails. Sorry that you will have to wait another day but it just stresses the importance of making sure that when someone submits an order, that they doublecheck all the info. Madmatt
  11. Kuni, I emailed you about 30 minutes ago to your email account that you have registered to your forum account here. Did you get it? Please check it. It wasnt the email that Martin sent, but I do have some questions for you that might shed some light on your situation. Madmatt
  12. You don't put in any URL, you go to the address provided in the email, type in your license code (which is also in the email, and its a unique code PER PERSON) and then the download kicks off. Speaking of that DO NOT EVER GIVE YOUR LICENSE CODE TO SOMEONE ELSE. Codes are specific to each person, if you give out your code to someone else because you can't download today, then we will not be able to give you support if a problem were to arise down the road. If you didn't get an email, then we are sorry, but that simply means you will need to wait until the next batch of emails goes out (which will be tomorrow) or possibly your email address in the original order was faulty or is getting bounced around before it finally comes back to us as undeliverable. Due to the amount of emails we are having to handle, we can not at this time check each and every one to see if it went out or not though. 13. I just tested as well with DAP and I was getting about 70-100kb/sec. This is from my residential/home cable account. Good speeds for EVERYONE is something we strived to get and our server hosting vendor seems to have extremely good bandwidth and reliability. Of course, this first night is going to be a little rough as there will be more simultaneous downloads right now than there will ever be again, simply due to the way in which we had to do this. As Martin said before, this whole system will be automated very soon and we do appreciate you guys being patient, or as patient as you can be, while we work on getting this system fully rolled out and implemented. Madmatt
  14. If you pre-order now, you wont be able to download until we batch process all the new orders (from about an hour ago until then)tomorrow. Once we get this system automated though (very soon) you will be able to download seconds after your order is placed though. Madmatt
  15. Great news, please let us know how long the download takes. We are curious as to the speeds most people see. Once you guys start getting the game and getting it activated, please let us know what you think about the whole eLicense process as well. We looked long and hard for a competent system that was both effective but more importantly EASY TO USE and as unobtrusive as possible. We think we found one in eLicense. We hope you guys feel the same. Madmatt
  16. In case you guys missed it, the full PDF manual was released and you can download it from here: ftp://ftp.battlefront.com/pub/guides/SC2_pdf_manual.pdf (Right click on link and select "save as") Of course, the full game comes with a 150 page printed manual! Madmatt
  17. Actually, to be totally accurate the pre-war anthem is called the "March Marcia Reale d'Ordinanza" but I went with the Republic of Italy's "Il Canto degli Italiani" because it is much more recognizable (and I couldn't find a great version of the other one!). I guess I could fix this down the road in a patch. To be honest, my original idea was for EVERY country to have its own unique theme but when I asked Hubert for that he just wept quietly to himself so the idea was sorta pushed aside for the time being... Madmatt p.s. Also, in reality this theme (Il Canto degli Italiani) was chosen in 1947 but only as a provisional theme. It was never officially confirmed... To make matters even more confusing, there was a second theme called "Giovinezza" which was originally Musselini's fascist party theme but was later referred to as the secondary national theme. By the way, there has been talk recently of changing the national theme altogether... [ April 05, 2006, 03:02 AM: Message edited by: Madmatt ]
  18. By the way, since someone mentioned "sounds" my ears perked up. There are actually very few carry-over sounds from SC1, and even those have been remixed. My goal was to retain the feel of the old sounds but add more variety to them. Of course you can actually now add new custom sounds with the editor but I will leave that for Hubert to explain. One cool thing that I am particulary proud of is what occurs when you click on one of the Major nation capitals. Just be sure there isnt a unit already occuping the tile... Also, what do you guys think of the new music? Just an example of how music will be playing a much larger role in future Battlefront titles... Madmatt
  19. The subject line pretty much says it all. Read all the juicy details here! Madmatt
